agree, except the everyone part because for some weird reason I, who worries about even 17 point leads, was never worried.  Truly, I wasn’t.  Calm before and during.  Don’t know why, but it was just the way I was.

That aside, I guess my main point is…why doesn’t the shortcomings of other teams ever materialize into real conversations about them?

We talk about it here, but it gets briefly lit out there and then just disappears.

How many conversations or even comments in the national media talked about Cincy getting out gained in week 18 and then needing a 100 yard return during the wildcard?  And not just brought up, but an actual conversation of, “hey what is going on, this is a big deal?”

Yes, I agree with Eric Weddle because I am a Bills fan, but I really agree with him because it’s just common sense that for some reason gets lost on everybody else. Kay Adams was almost embarrassed and beside herself.  Weddle was essentially like deal with it, because it is true.  No prejudice against the teams.  No favoritism or whataboutisms…it is what it is.

Josh Allen is one of the best QBs in the league.

    Josh Allen’s arm…SAVES him constantly.

Josh Allen’s rushing yards can’t just be crossed out and not counted.

We have the second most wins in the league this decade because we are that good.

Nobody in this league…nobody loss less games this year than us.

Nobody in this league…nobody right now has won more games this year than us.

Even on NFL Gameday View, as expected, one of them (Greg, I think) brought up how Cincy’s Defensive Guru is going to dial up another one and stop the Bills and that Cincy just has the better of the two defenses.  Also Joe Burrow will be able to do it with short passes regardless of the Oline injuries…also, maybe Rachel, talked about everyone talking about Milano and Edmunds, but really should be talking about Cincy’s LBs.

    NFL Defensive Ranks:

    Bills:  6

    Bengals:  16

    NFL Defensive Pts Against Rank:

    Bills:  2

    Bengals:  6

    NfL Offensive Ranks:

    Bills:  2

    Bengals:  8

Make it stop.  Goodness graffiti someone please just make this nonsense stop.

It must be the cigars and the hats, right?  It’s the cigars and the hats, isn’t it?  It’s the cigars and the hats.  They are cool.

All true. But all I know was that the game was not over until that last first down.  It should have never been that close and yet it was.  And everyone in WNY was holding their collective breaths.  Every time you felt like Buffalo would add some point distance something happened in the game that allowed Miami to keep it close.  And when you factor in a 3rd string QB and a massive point spread, it added to the anxiety and perception.

It's two-fold.  The fumbles.  Two times he has fumbled a scoop and six (Minny and Miami).  But I think the fumble he had against Miami running to the sideline where it bounces off his knee leaves a "wreckless impression."

And then of course there are those drive killing red zone picks.

I agree no one is harping on TLAWs picks last week.  But I think the combo of Josh's picks and fumbles and just surviving the Dolphins definitely leaves a bad and lasting impression.  It wipes out the crazy good throws he had in that game.  I mean that first one to Diggs was glorious...

He has to play a clean game this week.  Or the narrative will follow him..

    I

thumbs up from me, wjag, but where I will disagree with you vehemently, and others, is that the Bills “just surviving” last week.

Just surviving is Miami going down and just missing a field goal that wins the game or the phins throwing an interception in the end zone that also would have won the game.

Not an 11 point fourth quarter lead, or when it is down to 3 Miami never moving the football past the 50, then losing on downs and never getting the ball back because we ran the clock out.

close, yes…just surviving or skin of our teeth was not what happened. We trailed for what, 7 minutes?

  4. Guys, I don't get it.  I mean I honestly don't get it.

I watch our QB make throws that almost defy belief.  You can literally hear the announcers in the booth shake their heads, pinch themselves, and then say, "Did we really just see that throw from Josh?!  Was that real?!  What human does that?!"

Do some of these talking honestly just.  not.  watch.  even highlights?

And if not, how...HOW do you watch what this man does with a football and say his arm is essentially garbage?

He's within 2 picks of the other top quarterbacks in the AFC and he is a turnover machine who can't throw?!

It's ridiculous.  No...no, I am not being a sensitive Bills fan.  I mean it is honest to goodness ridiculous.

However, should I be surprised?  Joe Burrow (who I think is great) is cocky as all get out, wears crazy clothes, sunglasses and smokes cigars and people around the country AND THE TALKING HEADS THEMSELVES can't get enough of him.

While our guy expresses "confidence" and a "swagger" and they think he is an ***hole and they hate his face (Le Betard Show).

Jeepers...lets just play this game already!

    Go Bills!

SO, my son wears this cap to school today here in Cincinnati - He is asked by a teacher to take off his hat (but does not ask the students wearing Bengals caps to take off theirs).  Targeting my boy for rooting for his team?!  WTF!  I'm actually not that pissed but it would make a win on Sunday extra sweet!!  GO BILLS!!  Crush those lame tigers with a depleted offensive line!!

We should be sending you and your son a different hat to wear to school all the way up to the Super Bowl.

One of the most traumatizing losses for me when I was younger was the JAX loss vs bills...96 playoffs

...and the low scoring loss  few years back as well.

    Hate that team.

Being there...I mean...I was just in shock.  We just simply don't lose playoff games at home...until then.

Maybe not the two headed monster yet, but I could do with the two headed annoyance of The Beas-Shak.

HUDS, I was never really good, but I had so many good times gaming with guys and was so big for me in the aughts and early teens of this century, however, like you I went back to the 90s, too.  Half Life and some of the Star Wars games.

Good times.    Halo 2...oh man.  CoD: Modern Warfare...Oh Man and a number of others.  In the past few years just some Madden and The Division 2 with my gaming geezers group.  Still fun, but different when you have to keep the noise down!

My favorite for this week has been how since burrow didn’t play a great game this past week they’ve been referencing all of last years postseason(which was honestly quite pedestrian) as an argument for him going forward. But I’ve not see one person bring up Allen’s historic 2 game run from last season. Every show is “how many more to’s will Allen have this week?”

It’s honestly baffling. Watching the tv today one would have thought the Bills were a 9-8 Cinderella 7 seed as opposed to a 14-3 team coming into the week on a freaking 8 game win streak. How do the Bills even stand a chance against Burrow and his 7 tds in 5 playoff games!!!???

What did we learn this week again…if Allen throws for 3 TDs he’ll have the most passing tds in his first 8 playoff games in league history (20) and if he does 3 passing tds and 300 yards it will be his 5th straight playoff game doing it, also a league record.

…but once again people want so much to try and get back to him being such a flawed QB who is just about to turn into Wentz or on a higher end Cousins.

Yeah, he’s not and he won’t.

Why?  Because he is just plain one of the best QBs in this league…top 3…why can’t people just accept this?

Lamar had 13 INTs in 11 games last year...and everyone was calling for him to be MVP.

The Chiefs lost two games this year with Mahomes throwing game ending picks with a chance to win. He single handedly cost them the AFCCG last year when he turned into Nathan Peterman at halftime.

I've been plenty critical of Allen but the talk this week re him and the Bills is out of control.

This and your earlier takes have been solid, Process, especially with pulling the reality of the limitations of other QBs that just seem to disappear when they do the Allen comparison.

    Thank you and cheers, brother.

The problem with Skyline is that they make the stuff in a warehouse in Fairfield and then just heat it up in the restaurant. If you really want to get the stuff made correctly in small(ish) batches, go to a local place. The one I like is Camp Washington Chili. If you're driving through Cincinnati on I75, just get off at Hopple. It's right there. People also really like Blue Ash Chili, but I've never been there.

    @CincyBillsFan @Caesar

Just watched a Camp Washington video on their web page and for **** sake I want to hop in my car and drive the six and half hours there now.

Listen, I love making it at home and I love cheese and I always think I am putting too much  cheese on it, sometimes based upon memory.

and you know what?  I am not even close to putting enough cheese on my five way...not even remotely close.

I reply to those directed at me, the only original posts I make are questions or answers to statements others have made regarding the Bengals.  This weird of you.

Caesar, I'm a visitor to your town a number of times earlier in this century, if Cincy is your home.

It's how I developed my love of Skyline Chili and to this day there is a can of it in my cupboard, along with the Skyline hot sauce, right now.  Sometimes its what I serve on gameday.  I'm also a fan of the Montgomery Inn ribs.

    Good stuff, good people.

First time I ever played cornhole was at a tailgate down there before a game.

Well go ahead, Mods, because you can just "eat **!" and "kiss my grits!" and "sit on it!" from the grand ole USA before I ever bow down and pretend to be comfortable with our team going on walkabout across the ocean to pay tribute and parade our boys before the king!

Our forefathers didn't establish "The Foolish Club" just so that one day we would have to have Dion Dawkins genuflect while in formal wear to Kate and say, "Good evening, M'Lady!  Have you tried the kippers and bangers?  Oh you must as they are simply loverly!"

or have iMcK stuck in a roundabout frantically screaming every two minutes, "look kids, Big Ben, Parliament!"

I'm at about 65%. I think the bills are the better team overall, but we've watched them shoot themselves in the foot so many times this season. While I think the bills are fully capable of playing a mistake free game, it's hard to comprehend they will. Being at home is a big advantage (I think).

Step, the 2/3s slant of your 65% I think is an extremely sweet spot.

Yeah...I am more than 50%, but 75% just seems a little much.

We also would have had a rematch against the Chargers back out at Jack Murphy Stadium in the AFC Championship and I think the outcome would have been much different.

That 10-6 Bills team (11-6 after the playoff victory against the Jets) was as good as the 11-5 division champion the year before, and minus Fergy's broken ankle.

I was really bummed, at age 14. We had started 11-1 but ran out of gas and finished 12-4, we had an amazing defense and an okay offense (Kelly threw 15 TDs and 17 picks on the season) with a promising rookie named Thurman Thomas.

Recently I read a great oral history of this game from the Athletic. I learned that Bruce was absolutely unblockable until he got injured and that took a lot out of our team.

Do you think that would happen in today's NFL?  No freaking way.

  17. The Bengals went after us in that first quarter, like most teams do, but this seemed chippier like “we are the afc champs and we are tired of hearing about you.”

Good…I hope the Bills are ready right from the start this time.

The brotherhood after glow should carry on, but our guys have to remember who they are and get after it…hard.

Respect your opponent, but let them know who you are.

Va, honestly, I am pretty calm about this game.  Not in arrogance, but just calm.

However, I will most certainly be PO'd if we walk out of this game with something like 3 sacks for 8 yards and Burrows lighting us up because we could not get to him.

All the picks, all the free agents and you lose Von Miller a couple of months ago and you turn into the sisters of the poor trying to put a pass rush on?

    Please.  Will not be happy.
