  2. 75 Watt incandescent light bulbs are getting phased out this year. 100's were phased out last year. ...and you just plain should not be able to keep your job of 3 straight double digit losing seasons.
  3. I haven't read this entire thread, but I just don't know why a lot of you are leaving out the NFL relocation fee. Some reports peg that amount at about $600,000,000. If that is true the simple math is that if you bought this team and wanted to move it tomorrow it is going to cost you fees in the neighborhood of one billion dollars (cue Dr. Evil with his pinky to his mouth). Sure, that are a number of rich people on this planet, rich enough to pull that off. However, it just plain doesn't make any business sense. EDIT: maddog69, my apologies, brother. I didn't make it to your post. $900 million! Well that just makes me feel even better!
  4. There is a great likelihood that Gailey has 3 consecutive season with at least 10 losses...more likely an average record of 5-11 through those three season. I truly don't understand any reasoning for trying to save that type of continuity.
  5. Completely disagree and there is proof with gailey's own record. Sure, ditching one guy (Edwards) for another guy he didn't draft (Fitz) was probably easier, however, making the switch for a draft that you are involved in is the easiest coaching decision to make and is not the same as explaining why you are not making second rate QBs like Tyler or Jackson the starter.
  6. Of quarterbacks with more than 150 attempts he's rated 9th rated. 21 TDs and only 9 picks. I'm tired of saying how badly I wanted this guy. I know, I know...it is done and over with, but still.
  7. My apologies. Mods, please do away with this thread or merge it as you please. EDIT: I will lock.
  8. ...for the worst coaches of all time, according to Bleacher Report. http://bleacherrepor...all-time/page/9 The link is to his page. Here's the start: http://bleacherrepor...hes-of-all-time (my apologies if someone already covered this over the weekend)
  9. Good original post, ABF1975, and good point above. I get dizzy when I think that Atlanta has gone up, down, and up again in the last few years and that they have had Michael Vick, Matt Schaub and Matt Ryan all within the last six years. ...and I am absolutely tired of the 13 years worth of cheers and joy our team has provided to other cities' fans.
  10. The more I watch this team (or less) the more I am buying into this notion. At least when it comes to pass protection.
  11. I think a great big heaping portion of this is spot on.
  12. Finkle, this is not to pick on you, my friend, but from now on whenever people start these threads regarding draft picks can you please link and/or cut and paste to their stats. ...I wish this was sort of a gentle rule on TSW whenever mentioning potential picks, regardless of how well known the player referenced is. Again, no offense intended.
  13. punt returner ...nope, I was wrong.
  14. I was in Heaven in 2004...Heaven. 6 straight victories, they were rolling over teams, 9-6 and at home against the Steelers who were sitting a lot of guys for th playoffs, and we had a shot at making the Playoffs. I actually dared to think we could do some damage in the playoffs.
  15. Did you to go to many games? COME ON, BMV, you knew that was coming. BTW, I would like to hear from some of those national prognosticators that had KC winning the West. I believe there were at least 2.
  16. Well, Ponder started and Dalton started as 2nd rounders. I am not saying they are the norm, but I am not saying they are the exception, either. We very well could find a QB in the 1st or 2nd round who could start...now, it is just getting Chix to have the fortitude and pull the trigger.
  17. I've never gone along with that line of thinking. They were as good as they were then and as bad as they are now. A potential change in the future outcome does not change the perception of the present circumstances. They are 3-3 with a QB who can't hit open receivers and a defense that fairs very poorly against the run (and generally overall). If they change I'll be happy. If they beat Houston and N.E. by 20 each, I'll be down right thrilled. However, my percpetion of what I have seen so far doesn't given any cause to think that will happen. I'll still cheer like hell, but the Bills are what they are right now.
  18. You left out "...and missing wide open receivers."
  19. The article is spot on. The Dolphins lost their first game by 20 points and then the other two in OT. ...I honestly don't think we are better than them. I am not saying we are worse (yet), but stay tuned.
  20. You had me at, "Fitz misses Nelson.." I mean, regardless of everything else goin on with him I think that is one of the truest statements of all. Would it mean us being 4-2? No way. ...but still, it is so obvious that he misses that WR/TE he was so dependant on.
  21. I dispised Lewis from early in his career for his obvious off the field problems. Now? Now he is simply one of my favorite players in this league and an exceptional individual with respect to his tenacity and love of the game. I'm sorry you got hurt, Ray, but you have more than earned your time off. Enjoy your son's college career.
  22. I am done with Fitz as the starter for this team...going into the future. However, I agree completely with JR above. I really, really don't want to hear anyone from management say after the season is over, "Well, we improved two more games to 8-8 and we are headed in the right direction and Fitz is our guy." or, when we pass-up a darn good QB in 2nd round b/c they didn't think he was better than what they have now. It stinks that he can't make the long throw, but I can live with that. ...I can't live with hiim not being able to throw the short ball and, as much as they like him, I think that is starting to piss off guys like Johnson and Freddy.
  23. I hate it, GG. I've posted it before (can't find it now) and it has always been a sore spot for me. I am not saying that I put our Super Bowl losses completely on Marve and Walt for turning over the brunt of our defense to their boy Jeff Wright, but I do believe it made a difference and the proof is in the pudding...our defenses before with Smerlas and after with Washington.
