  1. This. Also, I became more interested in teams that I previously didn't like or even care about (yes, even the Dolphins) after they appeared on this show. The fear of doing this is ridiculous and cowardly. This sort of exposure for one of the NFL's inconsequential teams would be a benefit and pretty damn interesting. Don't get me wrong, I love everybody's updates from camp...but this would be even better.
  2. Off topic: Dean, I just notice your avatar with Jim and Hunter Kelly for the first time just now and it hit me...and in a moment I almost started crying right there and then. My wife and I are expecting our first and seeing Hunter there so small, so innocent with his father who is going through his own pain...it just sort of hit me hard and all at once. Sorry for veering off, guys. I just had to acknowledge it.
  3. Yeah, GL you just 1, 2 and 3 punched this and I'm buying what you are selling. ...not interested. Best of luck to the kid, but not interested.
  4. I know, right. Man, Nuch, it is amazing how some of us think as fans. "We just got someone good, so by all means let's get rid of someone good and while we're at let's not go after someone who may be even better."
  5. I love the trade as I stated before, but I really don't see giving up on an opportunity to pick Evans and putting all your eggs in the Mike Williams and Stevie Johnson baskets. Honestly, I truly just don't see how that is a good strategy. Does it really feel like it to most of you? Get Evans, have a killer wr group this year and see how it plays out, meanwhile follow up in the draft with a RT in the second and a TE in the third. 4th, 5th and 7th being a db, lb and rb, in any order.
  6. I don't think this should automatically preclude a Mike Evans pick at all, unless he is just plain gone by the time we pick. Williams is a legitimate receiver in this league (190 rec, 2700 yds, and 24 TDs in his first three years) and his contract is very cap friendly even with Johnson and a potential first round WR pick. The issue don't arise now , but after 2014 when Johnson and Williams' contracts get substantial larger. I love the trade and I don't necessarily believe it has to imply a change in supposed direction on draft day...well, draft - day 1.
  7. I like the direction TT was going in as he started this thread and I like even more RM's idea above. If either were a reality I would end up doing it.
  8. The question: is Sully going to stare at the ground and shuffle his feet when he talks about teams having money to sign big name players like Byrd as Graham, a pretty dang big piece of the Saints puzzle, walks out the door? ...and please don't tell me that they got good value for him, because I will concede that. However, essentially Ebron from Graham is a pretty big stretch at this point. I think Brees is awesome and a future hall of famer. However, I think the Saints are pretenders, just out of reach from making it even back to the Super Bowl for the remainder of Brees' career. Would I like us to be such a pretender? Sure, but we don't also have Brees.
  9. Thank you, agardin. Thank you very much. I would have used Dunn, but I thought it would be too much of a stretch for some. I think that Mario's contract is livable, but as we get better I would image in the next couple of years they may have to fiddle with it, at the very least.
  10. Well, if in the speed of the game it is a tassel of hair or a skin tight jersey the tassel is kind of convenient.
  11. I don't think it is going to happen, but I got to tell ya, the idea of signing Jackson and then getting a 3 down LB or Rushing DE/LB in the top 10, followed by a new starting RT in the second who I fantasize about being as good as Glenn...just all makes me happy! EDIT: "Jackson and Johnson...no more tears!"
  12. Oh please, the Trust is cheap! I hope Ralph is someplace nice right now and giggling.
  13. Really?! So, on a Buffalo Board no one gives a s*** about a Slap Shot reference?
  14. In other news, Team Captain and Coach Reggie "Reg" Dunlop indicated that a retirement community in Florida is interested in buying the Charlestown Chiefs and relocating them.
  15. The GM in Major League was also the father in Halloween and Dan the Weatherman in The Fog; one of the sort of John Carpenter players, if you will. ...just sayin'. BTW, no I don't think we should do this. Sign our own guys, lock up great talent (Dareus, Glenn next year, etc.) long term and get decent talent at respectable prices in free agency.
  16. Dude, wasn't it, though? Seriously, that sucked. Seriously, up at halftime and then moving the ball early in the third quarter I dared myself to dream. The next, I just couldn't believe it...four straight.
  17. Agree, and I also did not read. I'm sure he'd love to have as many people read it as possible, but I am not going to be one of them. Not saying we should boycott, or that those who want to read it shouldn't. However, I am just not in the mood for it, nor do I want to give him the hits to the article.
  18. ...and for those who think that the new owner can just break the lease and pay the 400 million dollar penalty the County (I believe) can sue for specific performance (and hopefully win), meaning that the Bills would have to stay and play here.
  19. Oh dear Lord. Please I truly hope he knows how much our prayers are with him.
  20. I wonder if New Orleans would love to have called its NBA team the Jazz again.
  21. Man-o-man, this is like preseason Christmas: Hall of Fame Game and joint practices with another NFL team. I'm looking forward to this all kicking off during the last week of May!
  22. Thank you for the many great times with friends and family your team has given and for all the charitable work you did throughout the years that sometimes get lost in our enthusiasm for winning. Enjoy our Super Bowl victory (when it happens) from the other side!
  23. Man, I agree with this. I mean, come on, they made the playoffs but this was a generational type pick that even a layman could have made.
  24. As I've stated before this guy is just going to continue to have a nice NFL career. Meaning, as others have stated, he is good enough to stick around, good enough to be a quality back-up and is a good locker room guy. This is not meant to be as insulting as it sounds but he will leave no real mark on this league. However, he is probably going to play no less than 15 season (maybe more, like Kitna), and after scoring some pretty good dollars from Buffalo on his first and second contracts with the Bills he is a 2-3 million dollars a year back up (starting last year) and will likely continue to be so through the remainder of his days. Jumpin' Jiminy, that is a successful career when you can walk away after 15 or so years with a pension and having made between 30-40 million dollars. Good for you, Fitzy. Good for you.
