  1. Yes, because numbers lie...like 8-7, or 8-8, or 4-8 in the conference that you have to win in to make it to the playoffs. ...and I'm not miserable. The Bills are.
  2. I hate to admit it, but I agree completely. Another couple of defensive injuries this season would have showed you how truly bad the offense was as they wouldn't be able to make up for it at all. I think parts of this season were an apparition and if this team stays put I believe we are back to 6-10 next year. ...sorry, just my opinion.
  3. NE owns the tie breaker against Denver, so even if they lose this week they can win home field advantage next week with a win and a Denver loss.
  4. Are some of you here old enough to remember the days when we didn't need "help" from any team to make the playoffs? When the questions weren't, "are we going to make the playoffs?", or "are we going to win the division?", but rather, "are we going to get home field advantage?"
  5. Face it, River, the football gods came in to your room last night while you were sleeping and had they're way with you bedtime thoughts of joy. They are A******s.
  6. Nailed it, Fluff, with both of your points.
  7. I went to bed last night early in such a good mood... EDIT: I guess that's what you do when you're a playoff caliber team...you find ways to win in the pinch. You don't lose 10 point leads at home and essentially and literally give games away, especially ones against playoff contenders.
  8. We eek this one out...17-13. I don't think we will look past this game. I just think it is going to be one of those games that Oakland shows up for...and we still don't score a lot of points...and we are on the road...on the West coast.
  9. The one on Main Street closed a couple of years back, too. Oh man, the steak and cheese sub was to die for, as well as having 10 chicken finger chaser!! Fingers were the size of your head!
  10. It's weird. I was more impressed with San Diego last year at 7-7 at this time than the 8-6 team this year. I really had this feeling they were going to make the playoffs (which they did) and that they could do some damage (which they did). I still respect them and think they're good, but flawed.
  11. I am just really please that some of you are off the "either the Steelers or Ravens COULD lose both their remaining games" bandwagon. ...because, respectfully, that was just plain stupid. EDIT: I take back what I said above. I just disagreed with those opinions. I apologize as it was not my intent to insult anyone on the board.
  12. Yeah, I've mentioned in other threads (and I don't know why this isn't apparent to others) that the greatest likelihood for us getting in is Cincy losing twice against tough teams, Pitt winning out and SD losing at least one. I think the Steelers are playing some of the best football in the league right now and the Ravens remaining schedule is pathetic. So, any hope of either of those teams losing both their remaining games is ridiculous, especially when Pitt winning helps us so much.
  13. Just as I said with my post on the previous page. Jasper I am not trying for one-ups-menship here, I am just saying that I am fully on board with your line of thinking.
  14. I think that helps a lot...any time a team we lost to loses it helps. As I stated in another thread I believe our path of least resistance is Cincy losing to Denver and Pittsburgh, with San Diego and kc losing at least one more; ideally, kc loses at Pitt next week and San Diego loses at either San Fran or kc. Honestly, we really should be big fans of Denver and Pittsburgh now.
  15. Are you kidding me, man? We need the broncos to beat the chargers and bengals. Forget about the packers game as THIS development would all but assure us of missing the playoffs!!
  16. I screwed up with my whole thread and original post, but in my defense the nfl.com playoff predictor completely left out the bengals and had the chargers in the playoffs...us overtaking them was part of the basis for my thread. ...BUT WE STILL WON AND WE ARE STILL IN IT SO ALL IS GOOD WITH THE WORLD! So, to do some repair work here is the most likely beneficial outcome: We win both games; Bengals lose both games (broncos and steelers); San Diego loses tonight and at least one more (San Fran and kc); KC loses at least one more, preferably against the steelers. Edit: AND I DONT MIND GOING TO INDY FOR THE FIRST PLAYOFF GAME!!
  17. Ugh...I was there, Ganesh. I was there for Kelly's first game and there for his last. Yeah, things changed.
  18. Given my original scenario, though, it is crazy to think that we could be going into the final week actually in the final playoff spot. ...I just think it is to much too ask for a road win against NE, regardless of whether NE has anything to play for in that game.
  19. Taking a look at likely, or rather reasonable, outcomes predicted at NFL.com, the most likely for us to still be in it leading up to the NE season finale is: 1). Obviously, we have to win our two games; and 2). San Diego goes to Denver and loses as predicted and then goes to San Fran...with San Fran pulling an upset which I think is reasonable. Given the other predictions hold (other than our loss to GB), the ravens and steelers would almost be locks in the 10-5 range, while the bills would be the only other 9-6 team (kc, texans and phins would all seem to be in the 8-7 or less range, as predicted). Still possible if chargers are 9-6, as long as kc loses at least one before finishing against chargers, with kc pulling an upset at home against the chargers...well, I mean for us to actually have the chance of getting in. I would be fairly satisfied with this season if the NE game mattered, the same way the Steelers game did 10 years ago. Thoughts on likelihood or comments, in general?
  20. If I am understanding you correctly the ball never touches the ground through the kicker"s motion and floats in the air. If that is the case and it is placed between the rows (hands team, etc.) can't someone just run up and signal fair catch keeping our onside team momentarily at bay? That's why they bounce it first and not just raise it, because the receiving team can call a fair catch. If I interpreted the OP's post wrong, my apologies. EDIT: Seconds,Matt in KC...you beat me to it by seconds!
  21. Yeah, lets be honestly here, the Phins are the real deal. They didn't look good when we beat them, but that was one week after they handed to the Pats. I'd imagine, as well, that Broncos fans are pretty darn relieved to leave last Sunday's game with a W. BTW, if we beat the Browns it is crazy to think that everyone of the Broncos home games so far this year have been against teams with a winning record.
  22. Maybe it's because they've had the difficult task of playing the NFC South this year?
  23. I respectfully disagree as I believe the desire and ability for fans to go to Pittsburgh and watch a game as opposed to Detroit, is greater than a Pittsburgh fans willingness to go to a Bills/jets game on Monday.
