  1. Because it was about 5:40 in the morning when I started writing. I have absolutely no problems, though, with the mods if they wish to to merge this thread with the others.
  2. Then we are back in the driver's seat as we would leapfrog KC for their current wc spot. http://www.nfl.com/playoffs/playoff-picture Right now our win against Miami in week 2 is huge as it is the only thing that is keeping us ahead of them. As we've all been talking about these next two games are so very important and really would help solidify controllable playoff positioning. ...but still I wouldn't mind going 8-0. Edit: frustratingly competitive in the AFC playoff picture that the "In the hunt" 4th seed is 5-4 while the corresponding position in the NFC is 3-5-1.
  3. BTW, not for nothing, but the League would essentially have to approach the Ravens on this and sure, they have a couple of rivalries in the North, but we are talking about the city here and you better believe that they have something with Boston and New York, as well. Throw in Miami just as a perk (road trips for fans and org at least once a year) and that would be hard for the Ravens to pass up.
  4. eh, avez-vous "Chicken Wings"? CHICKEN-WINGS?! ...well, the hell with that. I am not even going to ask this beret wearing bozo whether they have Beef on Wick.
  5. Very respectfully, Alpha, no one in our division really considers us a rival. That will change once we start continually beating them.
  6. Man, since the end of the last century I've wanted the Bills to switch with the Ravens and play in the North. Our furthest opponent in the dvision (Cincy, 6:15h) is still closer than our closest in this division (what is it, NE at about 7-8). The regional rivalries would be great and quite frankly, I really don't need to be in a division where everyone generally wants to play and work for the other teams in our division. Ohhhh, New York...mmmm Boston...ahhh Miami. Case in point, regardless of what some may think of Parcells he was a great coach and at some time or another had a roll with NE, the jets and the Dolphins.
  7. Nuch, because quite simply it's a "thing", ya know. Not a great answer, i know, but that's all I got!
  8. The shame of it is, Gunner, that J-Ville game every few years always seemed like a home-away-from-home game for the Bills. ...was a wash of blue. EDIT: On a side note, we've played outside the country, what - 5 out of the last seven regular seasons? Many may think this is neat, but I think it is taxing on the team. I would have been fine with a pass on this.
  9. LET ME GET THIS STRAIGHT, NOW LONDON IS TRYING TO TAKE THE BILLS?!!!!!!!
  10. I remember that ...and dammit. Oh, and "Next Bill Up."
  11. Actually, the Buffalo,Germans from the East side YMCA won a gold medal as an exhibition sport in the 1904 Olympics. ...not to be picky.
  12. On second thought maybe they got a point. 6 of the Bills' last 8 opponents are 5-3 or better, with one of them being 6-2 and another 7-2 and we are playing them both on the road. Man, what happened to the "easy" next 4 weeks? 5-3, 5-3, 1-8, 5-3
  13. Crazy to think that if Denver beats New England this week and we beat KC and Miami that we will be alone in first place...at least for 3 days.
  14. I know, I know, I know...and I don't know why I do it. I just always end up doing it. I write s*** before I write p****d...yeah, screwy.
  15. Same page, my friend. Part of the e-mail, verbatim, to my buddy earlier in the week (forgive the poor grammar). "...Gents, two weeks from yesterday is the start of the most important 5 days for the Bills in almost a generation and half. If they can get ready and beat the Chiefs at home and some how go on the road 4 days later and beat Miami I believe those two victories would lay the ground work for a playoff shot. After Miami you have 10 days off to go beat the Jets at home and then hopefully beat the Browns at home, as well. If that happens what are you left with? Beat the Raiders on the road (Week 16) and truly have a legitimate shot at the playoffs…but if you add a victory at home against an above average GB team in week 15, then I believe they clinch a playoff spot and can rest guys in an almost meaningless game at the end of the season in New England." My only correction is that the game may not be meaningless for the division, but may be meaningless for making the playoffs.
  16. I agree complete, BC. As I have stated in some thread earlier this week that is why those are the most important five days in almost a generation and a half for this team...come out of there 7-3 and I think they are looking good. ohh, actually I mentioned in an e-mail to a friend of mine.
  17. Nicely thought out, ricojes! Yeah, at the time I thought the loss to Houston would hurt us and it looks more and more like that is the case each passing week. I don't think about the Patriots game because in retrospect we just weren't going to win that one. For our remaining games I see the increasing difficulty to win as follows: Jets Oakland Browns Miami KC Green Bay New England Denver I believe the Jets and Raiders are sure wins, Browns and KC likely wins, Miami and GB, shaky (yes, I know it is out of order, but it just the way I feel - sorry Big Cat - about a being a road team on a Thursday night game), and I just don't think we can win at all in Denver and New England. ...weird to think, though, if the Bills win all their home games and beat Oakland on the road they'll be 10-6.
  18. Additionally, BF4E, even if we go 10-6 I am not 100% confident of that record getting us in if we are just 6-6 in the conference.
  19. Big Cat always makes me feel warm and fuzzy about the Bills!
  20. Not mathematically, but practically...I think they have to run the table in the third quarter. I think if they're 9-3 before Denver a playoff spot is theirs as long as they can at least beat Oakland...although an additional win of GB at home would be nice, too.
  21. Yeah...but I wish that idiot would have picked us at least once. D2DGAS
  22. Wish i could make you feel better, ct, but I can't.
  23. http://www.nfl.com/n...ds-spawn-debate Battista, Brandt, Billick, Brooks, Schein, Dameshek, Harrison, Silver, Casserly...9 NFL.com/Network's talking heads make their predictions for the division championships and the wild cards in the AFC. I'll give you the long and the short of it: 2 locks for their div. - Colts and Patriots (fine). Then the nine pick their two wild card teams, essentially 18 potential votes...they pick 8 teams San Diego Cincinnati Pittsburgh Baltimore Kansas City Denver Houston Cleveland The six teams completely left out - Bills (5-3), Jets (1-7), Jags (1-7), Titans (2-6), Raiders (0-7), Phins (4-3; and the phins get Sand Diego this week before they hit mid-season) ...yeah, sorry, but I'm p****d. I don't need any sort of consensus, but just one would have been nice.
  24. In order those are the top six ranked qbs, using the traditional rating equation for qbs with more than 100 attempts. I know many hate using that equation over the qbr, but still it is great to see a Bills qb in such good company in rarified air. ...so much for the Bills' "panic move" with Orton (think it was an espn story in Sept.).
