  1. Please will you make it anyone on TSW that says, "We should run Shady until he pukes this weekend in Baltimore!"? Just now I died a little inside remembering that time.
  2. This...is extremely humorous. Well done, sir.
  3. There is "brutal" at the position (EJ throwing 3 interceptions) and then there is not very good (Yates last night). I don't like either, but the weird thing is I liked aspects of the brutal EJ over the not very good Yates. I felt the same with Jones. Yates does absolutely nothing for me. I'd take a wild card QB prospect over him if Nate wins the job.
  4. Sorry, don't know the draft pick question. I will say another problem with Holmes according to Sal C last week on GR is that he just cannot play the slot, which hurts Zay for playing the outside as he would have to come in and play the slot. I stand by my earlier comments above, we are thin and another top 3 or 4 receiver was very badly needed, especially if the injury bug hits. However, that said now maybe we could see more (and preferred) sets of Zay, Sammy and Bolding on the field.
  5. I was in a box with my dad. Pizza, wings, peanuts, snacks, booze. I wasn't going anywhere. Added bonus: a douche someone had invited didn't like the bills and had bet $5000 against them, if memory serves. He was a prick all through the first half, to men and women in the box and mocking everyone. I can't even describe to you my schadnfreude as things turned in the second. I'm not kidding you when I say that after Nate's pick he was in tears...tears. I enjoyed that almost as much as the comeback itself.
  6. Agreed. He's older, he's slower, and I couldn't careless about the mentoring...and he'd be tied for the third best receiver on this team with Holmes, behind Sammy and Zay and THAT'S what makes him valuable. One or two guys go down and we don't have to panick at the position. Edit: if Bolding catches 36 balls for this team, without any drop off in other receiver numbers, then I am fine with it. I could really live with Sammy at 76, Zay at 56, and Holmes and Bolding at 80 between them. Roughly 13-14 receptions per game for the receivers would be a nice change for this team.
  7. The terrible loneliness and despair that someone must feel at the point of making that decision hurts to even try and contemplate. The sad end to this man's life just became even sadder. RIP, young man.
  8. Yeah, the ridiculous one was him complaining about the linesman looking right at it but not making the call of Don Beebe stepping out of bounds and then coming back in to make the catch. ...it would have been so much better if they weren't showing the replay of the linesman...just plain not even looking in the same direction. Unless he had wall eye vision that call wasn't going to happen. BTW, whenever anyone says I didn't stay for the entire game, my answer is quite simple: I was in a box. ...I had peanuts, pizza, wings, drinks...I wasn't going anywhere.
  9. There are so many stories we hear that end up being so sad, when all is said and done, with people not allowing themselves the chance to walk back from the abyss and we are left only with the sentiment of "what a shame, what a loss." ...I really like that we never had to express those sentiments for this young man...that he found himself. Good for you, dude. Good for you.
  10. OK, I'm not kidding...i got a little excited when I saw this thread. As a young boy I was an Ottawa Rough Riders fan. I know the the RRs are gone, but the RBs will still get my support.
  11. Wayne, I am just getting back to this Thread. Good on the Romo. You were the first person to respond and the thread probably should have ended there, although I am still impressed by Fitzy's staying power.
  12. Save for Kurt Warner, he has made more money ($54 million, including the Tampa Bay one year deal) than any QB in NFL history drafted later than him (250th, 7th round), or undrafted. http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/tampa-bay-buccaneers/ryan-fitzpatrick-1336/cash-earnings/
  13. The number 31 was not distributed for a number of years as a result of the above. When they stopped using it as their anonymous check player is when they started giving it to players.
  14. Sorry, Tuco, that is incorrect.
  15. Ahmad Rashad For a great number of years what jersey number did the bills not issue, but was never retired. Hint: it is not #32. Hint 2: I believe it was used for a number of years on the jersey of an anonymous player on team checks or letterhead.
  16. Can you imagine if the AFC East had Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady in it for the last 6-7 years? I am not even saying if Rodgers was a Bill, just if he were in the division.
  17. WE ARE DOING IT!!! WE ARE WINNING THE OFF-SEASON!!! This has been a great stretch of hires. kudos.
  18. Great post, ocemur. However, the one thing I disagree with is that you say there are several ways to reduce the problem, but take out trying to police the game. I think they should keep that up and I Do believe that they can change the game, tackling wise, without radically changing the game. It's just that they are not even trying. Full body or wrap up tackles would change things immensely, as well as the removal of the "pop" hit tackles on both passing and running plays. For example, on sideline running plays you either tackle th guy or push him out of bounds. You're unable to? Too bad. A guy caught a great looking pass over the middle because I couldn't "pop" him. Too bad. I truly believe you can still have good football and save these guys' lives and careers at the same time.
  19. Well said, BPA. Wow, this is just terrible.
  20. Alpha, I think I am going to take you at your word for that, because I know a couple of you were all over this guy for second round. Great pick.
  21. BRBF, well said. I've mentioned previously that I want 3 starters in the first 4 picks. They did it in the first three. Some of you may have wanted different players (as I did), but I a cannot find fault in what they have down so far.
  22. Do i have to tell you? A point well taken. However, I also didn't have a millions riding on how my image was going to be portrayed public for work.
  23. To this day, with all the examples, I just don't know how the above is not ingrained in their minds.
  24. Btw, every time I think I want a WR with our first pick I just see the holes that we have in our D. We need a WR, but we NEED defensive picks. I would just love two definite starters on D, one more who can help out, and a definite number 2 WR. Am I being greedy?
  25. I hear you, gentlemen. I will add this, it is somewhat important to me to get at least three viable starters in the first 4 rounds, whether it be from 6 draft picks, or just 4.
