Why I Think the Smart Move is Pay to Get Cousins
dollars 2 donuts replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think it is going to be about 140 million and I just don’t think he is worth it and the limited space it gives this team to make moves. dont get me wrong, I think he is good...very good. However, I don’t know if it will translate into being good for this team and once he’s signed, he’s signed, it’s over. You better love him because you not only have to keep him for years you have to play him at that price and we are not SF or Minny, meaning we don’t have tons of cap space. id take my chances on a top kid, or a later first round kid and Alex Smith and then sign some people. -
Well, you got one from me, Step!

Indeed, Chuck. Ya know what else? We have been horrrrrrrrrible at keeping our own guys, or wanting them to stay on our team. Don't get me wrong, I want us to sign and keep our guys for stability. However, I am just not going to have "filling the many holes" be the deciding factor when it comes down to whether or not we should go after a franchise QB.

If Darnold, Rosen and Mayfield are in their top three and they love one (or all) of them, go all in and get your man. If one is still available at 3 or 4, then send #21, 22, a second rounder and maybe something else from this year, or 2019 (but not a 1 or a 2 from 2019). Defend it? Look, they've had holes for a while. I'd rather have holes with a "serious" potential franchise QB than more holes filled without him. Risks? No one wants to dance because they need a QB or the price is too high...higher than what I have stated above. If that is the case, do the veteran bridge (Alex Smith) and draft Rudolph or Jackson. Why I would not get Cousins: He may be great, but being in the neighborhood of $140 million you better be darn sure as you are not getting rid of him after year two if things don't work out. This is your guy for at least 4 years. Rather take my chances for a couple years on a young franchise QB for 5-6 million per year.

I am surprised they find it more boring than Snooker. Just put the ball in the d*** hole, will you. -
Jim Mora Jr talks Rosen, Darnold, Mayfield

Is there any reason to believe that Rosen and Darnold won't go 1 and 2 to Cleveland and the Giants? -
Which WRs do the Bills keep - if any

You know what as well, JBR, it isn't even an expensive group. Jumping-jiminey, can you imagine Benjamin and Matthews on this team for a combined total of 14.5 million in 2018? Can you imagine selling that to a bridge QB coming in or even a young QB you are drafting? -

Dare I say, when healthy, I just plain don't hate Buffalo's receiving group. Healthy Matthews, Benjamin and even Holmes, and than you throw in a growing Jones with Thompson. Is it stellar? Of course not. I just don't think we are in rough shape, especially if we are able to sign Matthews on the cheap for a one year deal (maybe even as high as $6 million). -
crappy watkins lost it for the rams

When I was a teenager I ran into his mom, pregnant with the soon to be little Tony. She held her stomach when fetus Tony kicked and I quietly approached her and said, "Miss...this one (pointing to her mid-section), I think is going to be a great color commentator." His commentating today makes the three months I spent at the County pokey for harassment worth it. -
Couldn't we also trade next year's number1 instead of trading both this year to move up? I know it is not the same value, but just saying. Just incase there is a lot of talent they want (and need) to pick up this season.

I know it seems all about personnel today, but I can't help but think about this, as well. if the Bills (and AFC, generally) can't finally get relief as a result of drop off from Brady, Ben and Rivers it is going to get crowded near the top 6. Patriots - 41 next year...please be going on 50 at that point, but unlikely. Dolphins - would Tannehill have made a difference? 2-0 against us in 2016. We lucked out with that injury. Jets - projected 90 million in cap space and they draft high...they will either draft or buy a stud qb in 2018 Steelers - again, frustrating how these aging qbs aren't really aging. Ravens - one play away from the streak being 18 years. Cincy - they are a better team than the way they played this year, but we may have been helped by the re-upping of Marvin...what changes? Browns - no threat yet, but they will be getting one of the best, if not the best, qb in the draft. Jags - hate Marrone, but they are one QB away from being damn good and a dominating team. Tenn - This I believe is the paper tiger. I like Marriota, but saving Mularkey's job helps us and others. I believe they are out in 2018. Texans - They frighten me. I wanted Watson and before he got hurt you are kidding yourself if you don't think they may have laid claim to our playoff spot. Colts - aren't that good even with Luck...but at least they'll have him this year. KC - Mahommes comes into his own in 2018? Chargers- Rivers get old and go away, please. Raiders - 12-4 in 16 and a hiccup in 2017. Do you really think Chucky won't have them competing? Broncos - they'll get one of the top 3 qbs in the 2018 draft. Before we knew the Sabres were a tire fire I would argue with friends who thought they would challenge for the playoffs by saying there were definitely at least 9 Eastern teams better than the Sabres. Are there 10 AFC teams definitely worse than the Bills in 2018? I hope so, but I'm not sure. Teams that will be the biggest obstacles in 2018: Texans, Ravens, Raiders, Dolphins, and maybe the Colts. Thank you for ending the drought, Bills. Please do what you can to start a playoff streak next December.

This week has truly been incredible and memorable. please don't end. -
As a fan of the Bills and Madden, I approve this message. I will be working my own "scenarios" in the game later. No MUTs here!
