  1. Why did no one to take the time to mention to me that Darnold has turned the ball over 42 times in 27 games?! WTH is wrong with you guys?! Seriously, I did not know that until 5 minutes ago. Someone here mentioned earlier this week that he is a turnover machine (the "ten foot pole" thread), but i didn't pay attention to it.
  2. I didn't re-listen above, but I thought I heard him say this morning that if Barkley goes #1 to Cleveland the Giants might (should) take Allen at 2. If I misheard it, fine. If not...
  3. However the draft is deep with DTs. I wouldn't necessarily call it burning a pick if we get one of them. I would like to see us go after FAs we need at positions that are soft in the draft. What are those positions? Damned if I know to be sure, but it seems like it is light on varying LB positions, as well as OTs TEs, WR to a degree and OL, in general save for a few.
  4. This is what bothers me about this draft. I think teams that are possible trading partners with us LOVE certain guys and don't want to give up the spot. Whether true or just playing us, if we want to move up it is going to cost us probably more than we think this year. ...more and more I am thinking we may stay put and take the second tier of QBs.
  5. My opinion has changed a bit even from earlier this morning, CB. I've known about the upside with Darnold and that there is a little bit of work necessary there. However, more I've heard and read makes it appear that he really should sit a year if he is your guy. The thing is will McCarron take the deal? If he can prove something in Cleveland and get the dollars it opens the door for him someplace else, maybe after year 2.
  6. Side note: the Browns aren't getting McCarron AND a top QB draft pick. You don't get a likely three year 45 million dollar insurance policy (even if you have the cap room) for a guy you expect to start no later than week 4-6. Get Barkley at 1, get your 1-of-3 QB at 4 and get Fitzy or someone else for 3-6 million.
  7. Full discloure, I picked Mayfield, but also like Rosen. That said, man, if Barkley goes number 1 and the Giants say they are set with Eli the opportunity for a boat load of picks will be hard for the G Men to pass up because teams will most likely want that shot at Darnold (due to the fact that he checks many boxes and there don't appear to be any "issues").
  8. Not at at all Mark, just in relation to the cap it's someone you have to pay and account for, even if he was on your team previously.
  9. Indeed, and I am looking forward to it. However, we'll also have new holes to fill, like Incognito, Benjamin and I believe Alexander and Groy, just to name a few.
  10. We are ninth in total cap space, if I counted correctly. seems like we should be better than middle of the cap in overall cap space, but I get it with our dead cap space.
  11. Respectfully Kirby I don't think he fits that mold, because I am not just going to make the assumption that because surgery went ok that everything is hunky-dory with this guy and we'll see you come preseason. I blink because if there are complications he is either not playing this year or he doesn't end up with a career. The thing that you are saying is OK is the thing that I'm saying I don't want to risk. If this front office values picks so much (especially the ones that are expected to produce right away as starters and regular contributors) I don't want them making decisions in the "hopes" or "all indications are" that this guy "should" be alright come the fall...all the while making this decision in 50 or so days...EDIT...when the other thread dealing with his injury let us know that he isn't even really going to be able to physically stress test that pec until after the draft. #1A, #1B, #2A, #2B I virtually want to pencil in as starters. I'll take him in the 3rd, but even there I am a little uncomfortable...but I respect you and want to make you happy.
  12. I love the kid and hope he comes back healthy. However, those first four-five picks (or whatever they end being if we move around the board) MUST be year one contributors, and not just guys who get on the field.
  13. ...and after signing cousins they still will have only just a few million dollars last cap space than we do. Such perfect timing for the Vikings, Cousins and Viking fans. I agree so 100%, KJ: not great but good enough, for them. EDIT: additionally, and in a way, I hope this makes some of you who wanted Cousins feel better. This is just plain out of our fiscal league right now.
  14. I respectfully disagree. As I and others have mentioned before the only time you need to get a RB is when you need to get a RB. You don't need to groom them and although I don't believe they are a dime a dozen half way decent ones are easy to get. If Shady and Ivory fall off this year, get one next year. We just don't need one to be "right there" just in case.
  15. "Now we can get rid of Shady!" Said no sane person...ever.
  16. I do think this sets up nicely for the Browns and I really do believe at this point they will not trade 4. I think it really does appear that they get the best player Barkley at 1 and get at least the third best QB or better at 4.
  17. I was at both. Man, I was in a box and had food at the Oilers game, but I just can't remember why the hell stayed for the Colts game. i believe tasker blocked it.
  18. Todd Collins and the Bills erase a 26-0 deficit against the colts to win 37-35. I think it was '97. One of the greatest comebacks in NFL history. Bills fans don't talk about this game enough.
  19. Interesting. valid, too. I still would want someone to show balls and confidence, even if they lose.
  20. @kdiggz @matter2003 diggz, in just a few posts your personal insight on this was really well written, to the point, and much appreciated. Thank you. matter, I hear you and I used to love doing decline bench, but lately I've seen some lifters and read some articles weary of the positioning and the stress of the bar throwing your should Sr higher up in the socket. In no way would I qualify myself as a lifter and given my advancing age (later 40s) and my previously diagnosed shoulder condition ( father and brother had shoulder surgery and I was told 20 years ago I'd need surgery in about 10 years) I try to be extremely careful when I lift. Personally, and I am not saying this for everyone but it has worked for me, I do a number of shoulder strengthening exercises on lighter weights doing inner and outer rotations. I make sure that I properly balance my workouts between my chest and back muscles as overdoing the chest pulls and rolls your shoulder forward creating a greater chance of impingement (one of my big problems through the years). When I bench I make sure my back is arched and my shoulder blades arand punching in, opening up and properly positioning the shoulder joint. I make sure my arms angled 30-40 degrees from the line of the straight bar. I also do reasonable weight and I don't go too deep when I drop the bar to my chest, sometimes even doing dumbbell presses on the floor. As an alternative I sometimes do pushes ups, using proper form, but also angling the push-up against a bench or something higher to work the lower chest in the manner you would in a decline bench. Furthermore, I do landmines with a bar in the corner to work my shoulder and upper chest, replacing an incline bench. No surgery yet and I just plain feel better. Again, it may just be right for me.
  21. Multiple people for me, Nuch.
  22. Please Jim, be alright. Prayers to you and your family. This disease can go F*** itself...I'm so sick of it.
  23. It certainly is crazy to think that this team is 33-31 (plus 1 playoff loss) since 2014 kickoff in Chicago. If you only read the stats of this team, including roster moves, and weren't shown the record you would swear you were looking at information from a 20-44 team, at best.
  24. SNYfan I hear you, buddy. However, I do stress that they don't have an injury and I know there are other ways to see them, but the main thing being they should always. be ready. and willing. to throw. If they are church goers and someone grabs them after Sunday mass while they are in a button down and wearing loafers and asks them to throw I want them to say, "give me the rock, the pancake breakfast can wait."
