  1. Alpha, normally when anybody waxes poetic about O Line you are always going to get a thumbs up from me. In the back of my mind their is always that thought of, 'the hell with it, pick OL with one out of every first two picks for a few years and fill in everything else around that."
  2. If you hold your thumb up to the screen you can fix that.
  3. Honestly, I just can't imagine this team not only have two rock solid starting CBs like White and Gaines, but also having them play together for 4 years.
  4. One more thing and please forgive the "would have, could have, should have", but I honestly believe that if we had a healthy EJ Gaines we maybe pullout that CIncy game. ...maybe we end up 10-6 and maybe we're going back to KC for the playoffs.
  5. bf, When he first went down (in Atlanta, I believe) I knew that was going to be trouble for us and surely was when we went to Cincy. As WGR mentioned this morning we were 8-3 with him and 1-4 with out him and although I truly don't think that you just plain win or lose games at the CB position that is still a pretty darn impressive stat.
  6. Guys, I'm just throwing it out there... I never want to over pay for CB, but I know it is extremely beneficial to have multiple good ones. That said is 9 million dollars really that outlandish for Gaines? Anything above 10 million for a quality CB I believe becomes a little bit more questionable and there is no way I would have paid Gilmore what the Patriots are paying him. However, can't we reasonably fit it in and sign Gaines to a 4 year deal and then before you are potentially in line for inking White to a new deal couldn't you possibly trade Gaines or cut him during or after three years? I know we may be dealing with some dead cap money, but in return we get a premier set of starting CBs for the next 38-48 games. One last thing is the idea of building this team and I don't like that we got someone really good and a draft pick for Sammy and really only ended up with a draft pick and a rent-a-player.
  7. One pick...one freaking pick. Jacksonville 2004 draft: "Whaaaa, Buffalo, we don't want to trade with you because we are worried the receiver we want won't be there anymore." 9. Jacksonville 10. Pittsburgh 11. Buffalo One pick away. ...No way we should have walked away without Jacksonville's pick, passing on the chance at Big Ben. billsfan11, you left out the best part: in trading up for Losman we gave Dallas our number 1 pick in 2005. Who was there for us at that spot in 05? Do I even have to say?! Aaron Rodgers.
  8. I would have liked to have seen Montana.
  9. Indeed, Kirby, and if they really, really think the guy at 2 (likely Rosen) is the shizznit they are potentially done at the QB position for 10 years. I am not willing to do that for any other position. The closest being a 3 down dominating LB that is the QB of your D. ... man...Khalil was right there.
  10. oooohhhhh we could go up to 4 with 21 and 22! OK, serious, given this chart (and I know it varies) I would consider 21 and 22, our first round 2 pick, and something next year to get to number 2, if the Giants are willing, which they may not be.
  11. Joe, not ripping your logic. However, you could do it the other way to the same effect: trade everything you need to get one of the top guys, then trade away the guys you mentioned for future draft picks. I would rather have the FQB this year, than next year.
  12. Wagon, I don't want to make this awkward...but I think I love you. No longer shall my manly, hetero affection by directed at some of the stand by greats here like @ShadyBillsFan @Hapless Bills Fan @Steptide @John from Hemet @PromoTheRobot @e-ball or the others too numerous to mention here (you all know who you are...yes you doooo) For you sir, have given me the greatest gift of all. The gift of pure joy with one post.
  13. Berg, they finished 9-7 and lost in the first round of the playoffs while only scoring 3 points. ...and I am never going to forget those 8 days for the rest of my life. Gentlemen, to the Playoffs... Dilly Dilly.
  14. Indeed, Joey! Indeed! T-Bomb you do make a good point. As such, I think the Raiders are looking over at the Niners and saying, ''ooooohhh, ya sure? Really...are you really sure?!" Honestly though, man, just something about what I have seen out of the kid makes me think, yeah...don't play around with it. Pull the trigger.
  15. @Ice bowl 67 ice, what was the deal, buddy, with Van Pelt
  16. Well said, HBF. The thing is, too, the #McDanielsFacts on Twitter are all pretty funny, but also kind of accurate given the above. Nothing wrong with flirting with the job. Nothing wrong with using it to get a bump up in pay. However, when they are having a presser to announce you as their coach and you are packing up your office to go be their coach only to back out is s****y. Doesn't mean he doesn't have the right to do it, but it is super s****y. ...and I just don't understand how some people don't get that.
  17. Do we have anyone around here that will help clean up by eating horse s*** like that one Philly fan? We are such lightweights.
  18. Look, Patriots fans are happy, as they should be, because they get to keep their OC. I absolutely get it. However, and I know some of you Pats fans are in here (and honestly most of you guys really aren't offensive and do keep to the rules of the Board, which is appreciated), but nationally as a group it is funny how tone-deaf some of you are to HOW DOUCHEY this move is or looks. It's not jealousy because you guys win a whole lot (and you guys win a TON), and I have admitted previously, in my opinion, that Tom Brady is the greatest QB of all time. It's really just that you guys translate the above into unwarranted entitlement and as beneficiaries of a "free pass" for douchey-ness.
  19. and the Championship game was won by Kelly.
  20. He could still ask. He could state he wants to be a starter. Of course they don't have to accommodate him, but still, it's out there. Super Bowl Champion. MVP...and making 8 million to likely sit on the bench. If I were his agent I would be pushing this, if my client wanted me to as it is my job. There is at least a 50 million or so deal out there for him (at the very least), with guaranteed money and the clock on his career is ticking, just like everyone else. I know how good it is for the Eagles to keep him. It's just not very good for the World Champion/Super Bowl MVP QB if he sits on the bench for a year should Wentz be ready to come back.
  21. My goodness this is quite simply the best answer on anything, anywhere, ever.
