I love that these mocks get our hopes up and also pacify us...and I hate them because there is arguably so little chance of them coming true. fandom is a fools occupation and I unfortunately got in at a young age.

TFP as simple and as straight forward as you post is above I believe it is virtually spot on. i think they are willing to give their left you know what for him, but otherwise are only reasonably interested in moving for the others.

Funny thing is I us to always think about starting with a QB. For me it was Elway...he is not my favorite player of all time, it is just who I would start with as I always used to think he was the greatest QB of all time. However, for me (weirdly because I don't focus on the position), I think the greatest player of all time is Jerry Rice. If for no other reason than the superlative level he played at for so long and the distance between him and his nearest peers for so long and also that he served as the blueprint for the way guys would train (in trying to be the best) for this game from the 80s on, including our Andre Reed.

I agree, Kirby, but considering these are essentially contracts or agreements, couldn't they just state in the trade that if player X (Cleveland's guy) is taken it kicks in another trade that sends that player to Cleveland, and a reversion of picks or penalty of picks? What would prevent language like that? Or even (in short), "our Number 1 for your number 12, 22 etc., However, if you take X, we also get your 2019, 2020 and 2021 number 1s."

I couldn't agree more. Regardless of the moves they make McBeane are ("is" if you consider them one animal) the Black Knight in The Holy Grail when it comes to trying to win.

I got to say Allen, too. Some would be happy, but the majority would be very disappointed, for the reasons that have been speculated for a while now. However, the guy was a pre-season favorite, had a poor squad around him and does have some upside.

Come on guys, you are better than this. Some of you who have responded with just the name give me your reason why.
