Sorry, brother, if it seemed I was digging on you it really wasn’t my intent. My follow up was just reinforcement.

If Tua had been drafted in the 2nd or 3rd round, or even just the late 1st, I think people would have a more realistic appreciation of his game.  He's a good, solid, well above-average QB with durability issues who can take a team as far as their supporting cast allows.  He is not in the same category as Mahomes, Burrow, or Allen.  If I were building a team from scratch, I would definitely want Herbert over Tua.  But I do think Tua is in the same general tier as players like Lawrence, Fields, Jackson, etc.  Those are good players too, who I think would have similar levels of success if they were on this Miami team.

The problem is that Tua was heralded as some sort of generational prospect -- "tank for Tua" -- that he obviously isn't.  I mean, he's fine.  He's a good QB.  Miami did not whiff that pick the way Cleveland whiffed on Mayfield or New York whiffed on Darnold.  People just need to find a middle ground between "he's elite" and "he sucks."  Neither of those statements is true.

He’s not fine, he’s good.  Maybe very good.

You also placed him in a tier with other highly touted 1st round picks who are also good.

What fans cheer as far as “Tank for Tua” makes no difference and this far into his career anyone, even them and us, should be well over it.

The nuts and bolts is whether he is a good QB or not?

In his last 14 games he has 4,000 yards passing, 28 passing tds, 9 picks and an overall QB rating of about 105.  Recency and primacy.

He is really a pretty good QB, and he is in our division.

    But that didn't happen.

    Yeah, agreed, Nuch.

Quite simply you know who played well yesterday? Tua.

As a fandom we should get over this ragging on a guy who generally is pretty good. Yes, he has good tools around him, but still.

We don’t like it when people are nonstop on Allen, or at least were.  Sooner we take the guy seriously the better.

  4. We all know it…Chargers gonna Charger.

Also, still…STILL home “road” games for them.  Huge Phins crowd there.

Man-o-man can they sn@tch defeat from the mandibles of victory like few other teams.

  5. I don’t have a ton of posts, but I believe this may be my 20th year here…just checked, September 5, 2003.

A friend recommended it all those years ago and I never left.  @chongli is so right.

Thank you SDS.  Happy Birthday and I hope you are around for 54 more.  You’d probably be a little roughed up and a tad absentminded, but you’d still be running the best 3D Augmented reality Bills Board with Smell-A-Vision in the 2070s!

Not gonna lie, I am curious to see what Aaron Rodgers has left in the tank.  He is a future Hall of Famer, and yes he is old, but that is still not someone to taken lightly.

He'll be tough competition for the team on Monday, as would anyone of his stature.  Go Bills, but for that matter, go all of us.

In a way, each of us has an Aaron Rodgers to face. For some, shyness might be their Aaron Rodgers. For others, a lack of education might be their Aaron Rodgers. For us, Aaron Rodgers is a four time NFL MVP who wants to bash the Bills secondary's heads in. But, as sure as my name is Dollars 2 Donuts, the Buffalo Bills can conquer their own personal Aaron Rodgers, who also happens to be *the actual* Aaron Rodgers!

    Go Bills!

  7. Regular season since 2020: Chiefs 40-11, Bills 37-12.

That other team, not the Chiefs…a number of talking heads, as you all know, are predicting them to finish 4th in their division.

    Receipts, my TSW Peeps.  Receipts.

  8. I agree with the sentiment of the OT by Pats Fan, and it really is the media fueling this, but I am of the mindset that all three teams, Buffalo, Miami and the Jets could  finish with 10 or more wins each and that, honestly, if the cards fall right, the Pats could  finish with a winning record.

Man, this is all just about to get going.

    Go Bills!

edit: media is fueling it, I meant.

    corrected.

    Came across this tweet today...

I will note that the 48% does NOT include Milano or Tre White, whom most say McD drafted using Whaley's prep work.  And if we ignore specialists and focus on the O and D starting 22, the percentage is actually 55%.

So, is that good?  Not good?

Since we are talking numbers, 7.7% of those guys (Josh Allen) made it to the Pro Bowl...ever.

    Go Bills!

Come on we gotta start this season!

I think he already is at Schobels level.  Schobel had 8.5 sacks his  second year in 16 games, Rousseau 8 in 13 games.  Hansen was never more than average, even with Bruce Smith opposite him.  He was a decent run defender, a Shaq Lawson level player.   Let’s see what Greg can do this year.  I think once Von gets back he is really going to eat.

Hansen and Rousseau are pretty close in their early starts numbers.  If you can go by first 30 starts they have close to the same sacks (Hansen has more through the period (13.5-12), but it is difficult to track and he likely had only 10 at 30 starts to GR's 12), and Hansen has more total tackles ( apparently a little more than 100 combined to Rousseau's 87), but again difficult to track as there is no log for solo and assisted, just combined back in Hansen's day on PFR.

This is NOT a wiggle room. This had to be done in order to get under that cap. As far as I remember today is the deadline when 53man roster and PS players kick in.

    https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/cap/

We were $1.5 under the cap (top 51), which means $80k (aka zero) under the cap for 53man roster. After that, we need to fit PS players under the cap, which is another $4.2M.

So this just makes room for PS players.

Thank you, NMW.  I did read that over the weekend.  I forget which guy on twitter mentioned it, but he was talking about all the teams (and he included the Bills...Chiefs, too) that had to make moves by the deadline (I'll take your word it is today).

The talk in the thread with respect to the other teams was as you say, practice squad, etc.

Chris Simms was smoking something special before that prediction.

I'm not going to beat up people (most people) who are judging us right now.  I think it is going to be a tough season.

However, I will say what I have previously said:  I think whatever record this Bills team finishes at STILL will be a better TEAM than the 13-3 2022 Bills.  I'll take the January 2024 Bills, even if they are 11-6 or 10-7, over the 13-3 January 2023 Bills.

That’s pragmatic speculation.  To expand Donuts, I look at DK2 as a unit so 1100 yards total and 11 TD’s however it breaks between the two are rational goals for success.  It’s not the yards it’s when and how they get them in executing for the most important goal, POINTS.

Knox will be used more In-Line, and Kincaid the flex outside as currently Knox is the better blocker.  Dorsey knows that and use each to their natural strengths as Kinkaid will learn blocking throughout his rookie year.

I am cautiously optimistic on Sherfield and Cook.  Harris hopefully stays healthy and can effectively be our banger.

    Solid, GUNS.

Honestly...Truly...I do believe there will be separate slot receiver (Harty) receptions in line, but greater than, iMck's 42 receptions last year.  However, I think most, not all, of DK JR's receptions will be outside of that.  I am not saying they are not going to be slot type receptions.  I mean most of his grabs will be out of the ether...they will truly add to the offense and not just replace what was done in the past.

    More first downs

Increasing number of opportunities for future drives.

A macro increase to our offensive efficiency in total.

    I'm all in.

    Go Blls!

Fat chance Donuts, there is too much pillaging of beef and cheese burritos from MT, sheet pizzas from Blasdell, and Labatts lights.  We’ll be there.

Holefully you guys who know the landscape now with the construction have a lot to meet.  Hammers was always our go to IR the lot next to it, but they are gone.

when we get closer, the usual suspects chime in where TBDers are gathering for the Raiders.  So far no power lost, so myself and couple of buddies are going binge some. End movies and crush a couple of cases for a hurricane party.  We have to stay off the roads today.

That's great, GUNS, but honestly, you seem to be putting a lot of pressure on yourself.

Rest assured there is a Board Member here willing to take those tickets off your hands, for full price.  A balding * (knocks out only 15% of the Members) , yet extremely handsome (takes out about 65% at TSW), with a huge heart that he wears on his sleeve (OK, 80% or so in) who is ready and waiting, in the pinch!

Please note, although I will try and be in attendance for the MT run, I will not be eating.  Brother, I feel too good lately.  Within 5 lbs of the lightest I've been in 8 years and I feel like a kid again.  Plus I'm seeing my doctor about a week later so I want to keep it going.

    (* Who am I kidding...bald)

the entire OL - we are not better at. RT is no better. 1 guard is improved the other still a question mark. dawkins seems like he's not up to his best form

WR - on paper we look better but i don't buy we are better than we are at this point last year with the hope that mckenzie would be as good as he was supposed to be. i don't buy harty or sherfeld are going to be better

and i did forget TE - but in my defense the guy is a rookie and it's not that i forgot him it is that i don't put a ton of weight into rookies.

I agree with much of what you said boyst.  Additionally, I too will not put too much on Kincaid, but that being said I honestly believe he will be good for 48 grabs, and his numbers should not really have an effect on Knox.  They play the same position, but don't necessarily do the same things as we all know.  Meaning we could see a total of 100 receptions from our TEs this year...hopefully.

    Wiseguy

BTW- you’ll have to put up with me on the board for the next day and a 1/2 as this media hype is driving everyone crazy down here on the Hurricane so we’re all stuck in our homes until Thursday.  I’m just hopeful we don’t lose power as that’s always fun.  Tampa should miss the direct hit so we’ll just nailed with bands for 24 hours.  So I guess I’ll get caught up with you lovely gentlemen and follow this sign new guys to ps, bla, bla.

I really did laught with your first comment.  It was so Simon.

For the OT, frequent misses or underachieving in the first three rounds since after the first round in 2018, 20 or so million dollar difference makers on the rack in back to back years, the division has gotten better, tough schedule, and seemingly every QB of noteworthiness plays in this conference.

For you Guns, stay safe, brother. It would be a shame if you had to give up your Raiders tickets because you are pre-occupied!
