Respectfully, high tide raises all ships and steel sharpens steel. It's why the potential pick six on the out pattern with Peterman turns into a 8 yard completion and a second and two for Allen. It's why 3 sacks and or a pick for Peterman behind this offensive line turns into 1 sack, 1 scramble for 5-7 yards and a 3 yard td pass for Allen. Allen has to play a bit smarter to avoid taking some hits, but he is our best chance to win and he is showing the ability to make his teammates, oline and receivers alike, look better. Secondly, I don't love the idea on planning on softies in the schedule because that changes rather quickly in this League. If he is the best, or as the saying goes "first I will be the best and then I will be first", then get him in there and let him see on the field what it is like to play a good or anticipated good defense. I for one think it will make him better and sharper in the long run.

It's funny knowing what most of us know now if Allen were in that exact same scenario and was throwing the pass it is unlikely the db would have a similar jump on that ball as Allen would be throwing a "freakin' lazzzer" out to the receiver. ...I love that we are starting to get this vibe about this kid.

I don't want Allen and even Peterman in that fourth game for anything more than two series (tops) each. edit: Allen should be our starter, but regardless of what some think Peterman appears to be developing into an asset for this team which we can't risk at this stage going into the season, given that AJ might be out for the first couple of weeks.

He does the fourth preseason game, he is able to show the rest of the league where he is at and then you cut him because everyone knows you are going to cut him in advance. Truth, I am not going to go back to my football days because that would be cartoonish. still, though, why does it seem like that the problems with offensive lineman seem so fixable and just plain never get fixed? Your feet CAN get quicker. It's not like a 40 time. You CAN impose your will against a fast defensive end on first contact, especially when you are the bigger man. You CAN reek havoc against players on their way to your qb, even if you are just simply messing up their plan. ironically, protecting a QB for an offensive line should be more "offensive" instead of the generations of defensive fall back and just TRY to hold your ground a bit mentality. It's frustrating.

I'll take that answer Alpha! frankly, even before this game tonight and before AJ got hurt I thought if Allen plays well, then he will have three weeks to work with the 1s before Baltimore. Allen is making NFL throws and NFL decisions.
