  1. Thank you very much. I forgot what a great song this was. I haven't heard it in awhile.
  2. Please let me apologize to you, CLT. I quickly high jacked your thread. You asked a good question and I forced my way in early with a particular thought. i hope someone can respond to your original question with more respect than I showed. apologies, brother.
  3. Come on, Dubs, work with me! At least see the process! I really don't disagree with what you are saying, Drought, but like the team in texas (I think) that never punts I wish somebody, somewhere would start to think outside the box when it comes to blocking. However, my friend, just read again what I put in bold approve from your text and think about it for a moment: what if you weren't "keeping him off", but rather pressing? Why can't DLinemen just step aside on running plays? With that same moment they would be able to get a hold of the RB at the line, or for a short gain. You get yards running the ball because there is engagement at the point of contact and you are pushing (or trying to push) the DL back. What if by popping them momentarily, attacking momentarily, you were able to delay them for as much as a second, or at least slow up "their moves" to get to the QB? I am just asking you (or anyone) to just try and think about that for a moment.
  4. Johnny, I honestly thought of that. Not (I believe) if it was within three yards. The D will still want to attack so there will be contact. I am not talking about driving guys down the field, but rather engaging them more. Just because I am back peddling and shuffling my feet doesn't mean that I can handle you doing all your moves to get by me. Maybe you just swim past me...fine, that has to be worked on. However, if I am engaging you the hope is it is going to be more of a problem for you. You may be either stopped or on your heels a bit. Even for a moment.
  5. I am the wrong person to respond, CLT, but I will say this (based upon nothing): the next revolutionary change in the nfl (shot gun, no huddle, "Big Nickel" now with safeties) is going to be pass blocking that isn't just going to be stepping back and going on the defensive. As I've said here before, I think the olines in football should be a little more offensive when it comes to pass protection and not as reactionary. Currently the hope is to create a bubble around the QB and not bend to the will of the DL. It isn't working a whole, at least not for a team like ours. Generally the olines are big and slow and not built for "reacting" to what the DL gives them.
  6. I not only didn't want Sentreal gone, I would have signed him outright and even at the 3-4 million or so that he got. From what I remember this regime even sort of liked him, but...I believe it was cost cutting.
  7. We also picked up a first rounder (Coleman). He has warts, surely, buts still.
  8. Unfortunately, this scares the crap out of me. Considering how low the price tag got on EJ (4 million or so) I still would have signed him to hedge our bets at CB this year.
  9. Star is never going to be a stat king for this team, and I am fine with that. He is there principaly to eat up space and free up LBs. As long as he does that I am fine. He is different from Ted "Theodore the Slender" Washington, because he ate up space and could make plays. However, and again to be clear, they didn't sign him expecting him to be like that.
  10. Indeed. Boatdrinks, remember when we were paying (a few years ago, mind you) Percy Harvin 6 million dollars...and he did almost nothing.
  11. ...and because we have at least a "potential" threat who could pay big dividends locked in at a low price (about 1.5 million in 2018, and 2 million in 2019).
  12. Damn, dneveu, I always, always forget how old Streater is. Thirty minutes after posting this message I am going to go back to thinking that he is 26. It's literally every time his age comes up it is a surprise to me.
  13. Forgive me for naming he who shall not be named. Ok, it rhymes with "Dike Sodak". He was on NFL radio and one of the things he was talking about was how it isn't working out with Coleman and how he could just be cut, because the draft pick isn't that high and the Bills would have to deal with the guaranteed money. That is about $3.5 million, and literally a $3.5 million cap hit. I really don't think he has showed a lot, but part of the argument is there someone about to get cut who has shown a lot more, and would be worth replacing even given the $3.5 hit on dropping Corey? As of right now I am still fine with: Benjamin Jones Kerley Streater Holmes Coleman However, I really don't want Ray Ray to be exposed. For me (not necessarily for you guys) I debate on whether Coleman stays in lieu of McCloud or Holmes. What do you guys think?
  14. I believe Sal mentioned it would cost the Bills about 3 plus million dollars to get rid of him. In other words unless you are so worried about the extra roster spot it would be a wash to get rid of him, as much as just keeping him.
  15. Man-o-man, I really think he is going to be the guy. Absolutely don't mind if I am wrong and it is Allen, but good for Peterman. We know the Allen Era is coming shortly, but if Peterman's the guy then I am fully behind him. AS I AM SURE AS HELL NOT GOING TO STAND IN FRONT OF HIM BEHIND THAT HORRIBLE LINE!! Yuckity-yuck! Go Bills! (Note: I didn't make up that lousy joke in advance for my post. I just sort of realized it after I wrote the line before it above...I really will support Peterman if he starts)
  16. Shrader, I know this is upsetting to some, maybe more to others. Please put me in the maybe more to others category. I am a gaming geezer who, although I don't have a lot of time for it anymore, still follows gaming and still loves Madden. I also watch the Madden tournaments online and on TV. I knew who Trueboy was and I knew who SpotMe was...and unfortunately, I knew who Bread was. This...is truly horrible. On so many levels for me. Not at all for purposes of comparison to what their friends, families and unfortunately in Robertson's case, son, are now going through. RIP, TB and SM. Bread...capital "J" judging you is truly above my pay grade. What ever you had going wrong mentally I can't speak of and it is for a greater power than us here to decide on your eternal fate.
  17. Shrader, I can't remember where the video snippet is, maybe from Daily mail uk, but the Madden commentator Ryan "RG" Glick who works for EA and comments on most of these big tournaments was talking abou "Bread" the name of the shooter a few tournaments back. Glick said he is supremely focused and you can't pull much out of him. That he doesn't want to necessarily talk or make friends, he is just there to complete. I'll try and find it before posting this... yes, the first video down, from Dailymail.co.uk: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6100355/Four-dead-10-injured-mass-shooting-Florida-Madden-online-gaming-tournament.html EDIT: jeepers, for the first time I'm seeing that it rolls into a Tasker interview of the kid.
  18. Isn't it frustrating, teef? I don't know what a healthy Wood and not crazy Incognito would provide for this team in 2018, but it obviously would be better than what we have now and it would have given the kid a likelier chance to start against Baltimore. Right now I'm with Sal C: You can always take Peterman out as the season goes, but once Allen is in there he has to stay in there and it may not be the right call on September 9th.
  19. Taylor Robertson. He had a wife and son. He was previously featured on Madden America and seemed like a good guy. may he rest in peace. https://heavy.com/news/2018/08/taylor-robertson-spotme/
  20. I certainly hope they pick up a few guys who get cut.
  21. There are probably about 8-12 guys in the Madden e-sport that can make a reasonable living at it. The guy right now most regularly considered the best player in the world is Michael Skimbo and I believe he has made about $130,000-$160,000 or so in the last year. Maybe only 3 guys have made as much as 3 figures. Others can make additional funds with sponsored YouTube channels. Otherwise, the other players are most often those wildly pursuing a dream they are likely never to achieve, sometimes practicing as much as 10 hours every single day. They give up their possible futures to go after something that has limited dollars, but also that they will age out of being good at by the time they are 26. Edit:. And I am in no way making any excuses for what happened, but there is usually a lot of smack talk/ chirping that goes on at these tournaments.
  22. Probably, but again the Bills tournament was something , likely the only thing, that he won. I don't like seeing him associated with the Bills either, but showing a high school photo (if they had it) doesn't give the viewer a sense of who he is. When we see photos of lance Armstrong he's usually on a bike.
  23. Not all Madden tournaments are the same, but there was/is a madden tournament wherein throughout the year each team would host a tournament and would have the winner be their champion that competed against all the other clubs. I almost went to the buffalo tournament to watch. I follow madden, and after he became the Bills champion he was a surprise winner in the first round of the team championship before getting knocked out in the round of 16. I remember seeing it on Madden America on the NFL week.
  24. I guess maybe since it was the only thing he ever achieved it may have been the only photo quickly available. you can see the tracing laser on the innocent young man before the shots are fired. just simply and completely terrible.
  25. Because he was the 2017 Buffalo Bills team champ that represented the Bills in a tournament against other team champions.
