Going by the bowl affiliation: https://collegefootballnews.com/2018/01/college-football-bowl-ties-affiliations-tie-ins-college-football-playoff-conference-2018-2019 ...and the current record of the best teams with the bowl affiliations from the MAC, AAC, C-USA, MW and Sun Belt, competition wise is this the best scenario? Note: please cancel out the AAC and their unbeaten UCF, because although the conference is referenced as a tie in I don’t see them in the list of bowls. UCF would honestly be the best competition. btw, if UAB and UB run the table they should both be in the top 25 by the bowl.

Ferguson was all man in that game and many times throughout his career. The head down thing was my only problem with him.

As noted in another thread, UB is one of only 10 schools nationally that has their football and men’s and women’s basketball teams all getting votes in the top 25 polls.

I do love the look of it, as well. I think it is one of those rare open air stadiums that is interesting to look at as a structure, in comparison (or contrast) with recent covered stadiums that have interesting features. i dig the esoteric nature of your answer, too, Jay. Not being sarcastic here, Jay, but what do you like about that stadium? yours is not the first opinion I’ve heard that really likes the place. A buddy of mine out there likes it too, for example, but I never hear why. my bad because I don’t follow-up and ask, but still. What does it have and what do you like?

So, basically when you look at it UB needs 7 1/2 times more votes/points than what they are getting right now to get into the top 25, just arguable based upon what #25 is getting now (151 points). For the first time I'm thinking there may be enough prejudice out there against a team like UB and the MAC that even if they impressively get to 12-1 they may be kept out in that 26-30 range. I know, MAC teams like NI, Toledo and Ball State have been in the top 25 (especially Ball with its 12-0 season heading into their MAC Championship game defeat against the Bulls in 08). However, I still think it could be a thing.

@ShadyBillsFan Additionally, above and beyond our futility with them and even though they are still at the peak of football how can they not just plain be boring to other people? I honestly also feel the same way about the Steelers, whom I have never really had an animosity towards. I see both teams there, just continuing to win games and even though they are good I could care less and really don't even like watching them anymore. Call me crazy, but a GENERATION AND A HALF is enough time to watch the same 2 teams, year and year out, top the Conference and the League. ...Loving me the Chiefs playing well, the Chargers up there and Houston righting the ship. I cream myself over the Rams and I love New Orleans right now....I know, I know, they have Brees, but they (respectably) have had down years before last season. Weirdly I would have more respect for Brady (although I think he is maybe the greatest of all time), and possibly even like him, if he suffered through a 7-9 or 10-6 season and then they went back up. ...just tired of this, man.

This game now has little bearing on the MAC East. Even if they don’t win they should beat BG the final week of the season and win the East. My previous prediction was votes at 9-1, and top 25 at 12-1 after the MAC Championship. That has obviously stepped up a bit with them getting points enough to be on the top 36 in both polls currently. However they still need teams in front of them to lose. The voters are unlikely to just plain leap frog them like they would with a top conference team. I’m thinking by 11-1 they should creep in. However, I like where PTR’s head is at! @Buffalo716 Buf, I think he is just predicting for this week where he thinks they will be...not for me to speak for PTR, though.
