Throw Back Thursday: Bills-Lions 2014
dollars 2 donuts replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Man, isn't Kyle Orton like that kind of pleasing weird anomaly in Bills history? OK that he was gone, but I really could have lived with another year out of him, and he finishes with a winning record (7-5). It is a little like Larry Centers. I loved Larry Centers career, glad he came here, and he was successful (80 grabs one year), but on a poor team, but before we knew it he was gone. -
Will Shady be worth it?
dollars 2 donuts replied to TBBills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Respectfully, we have so much cap space that does it really make so much of a difference, other than a roster spot? I think with a better oline Shady will be better, but regardless if you want him gone, then after next year he is gone and we get 8 million or so back on the cap in 2020. -
Regardless of how the draft and FA shakes out, we know that they will address both line and WR. The thing is as bad as our receivers are, I just think we are in a more desperate situation at Oline. I think everything on offense, including the protection of your first pick QB, just moves up with a better line. I hope we don't get into a bidding war with the Jets on FA Olinemen. They have more money than us and we desperately need good ones, not just guys that other teams gave up on.

I was in box box in the end zone corner on the Houston side. i had pizza, wings, beef on Weck, peanuts, beer and booze. I wasn’t leaving no matter what the score was. i have also told this story here before about a guest of one the ticket holders in the box being a loud mouth jerk and flaunting that he had bet $5,000 (I know, I know, but I am being serious here, and mind you it was 1993 $5k) against the Bills...man, even if he didn’t make the bet this guy was an ass. it was the greatest shadenfreude moment of my entire life during that second half...probably for every Bills fan in there, as well. tears...I kid you not, he was in tears at the end.

The Cleveland / Raiders game was crazy. Browns on the verge of winning that one.
-
Row, beat the chargers and I think we end up going to the SB in ‘80, even playing at home against the raiders. avoid the penalty on the last drive and Cincy and we go to SD, and I think we beat them in ‘81 to get to the bowl. i loved those teams.
-
Row, honestly man I thought he was terrible in the day. He always seemed to be getting beat or was slow on plays...always there too late...as a bill. i know he did more, but I just noticed when he was bad.

RIP, Isiah. I was too hard on you in those days and only later realized what an important addition you were to that early 80s team.

Thursday Night Football?
dollars 2 donuts replied to RaoulDuke79's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Please don't, Mannc...they F'd us that year...OK, we should have offered them more, but they F'd us. We gave them a good deal and they should have taken it. Ridiculous 14 year nightmare. -

Great point, lost on me during the first reading. My bad for being thick, Mannc. I agree completely, and man, Mannc....you just can't do this today. I know we have our own feelings about the guy, but that aside he honestly never should have been hired for that job in the first place. -

Why did you take out the part where I said Doug can't survive? -

Completely undisciplined locker room. No QB. $12.5 million over the cap next year. However, they still have a really good D (even though it doesn't look like it) and a good ground game. I am not piling on when I say that given this team's window (or lack there of) they can't fool around by keeping Doug another year. -
Jalen Ramsey: “Don’t Blame Me!”
dollars 2 donuts replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Congratulations again, Team Un-resilient and Team Undisciplined! On top of that, and I was thinking of this for a bit, have any of you seen on highlights any great plays that Marcel has made this year? -
Lorax - should he be extended?
dollars 2 donuts replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I love Lorax. Additionally, what a great time for us to be in "rent a player" situations. In other words, given the room we have we can make decent offers to players who are on short term deals. Lorax at 3.5 as was suggested earlier and if he has room in the tank...great. If Williams wants to come back on a limited basis...him too! -
Zay Jones +/- first 100 Yard Game
dollars 2 donuts replied to RocCityRoller's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is no knock on Zay, but I think he will be good for his recent average of 4-5 receptions, for 60-75 yards. Sure there are some anomaly games for him, but I am honestly pleased he has turned into a solid number 2 (annual 50-60 grabs, 700-800 yards, 5-7 TDs), the position I think he was honestly drafted for last year. There will be added pressure on him, though, even with Benjamin gone and even though Benjamin wasn't a real threat. My hope is that Foster and Thompson pick up some of the slack. Man...this sounds ridiculous in this day and age, but not for this team: I would be so please if our WRs caught 12 -14 balls this game. GO BILLS. -
NFL helmets in college colors

@Royale with Cheese Man...black Jersey, with blue numbers with white and black striping on cuffs, white pants with black/blue/white striping and charging buffalo, blue sock tops. Cool. -

dp, they all generally look good. If the Bills did that for just one season...whoa, I'd buy. -
Coach, great post. Additionally, though, and maybe this may seem like a defense of Beane, but I think just an overall increase on offensive talent across the board will help. 1 or 2 guys are important, but if we have five guys (WR, T, G, TE, C) that are just plain better it would improve everybody and everything that we do. Stars are great, but man, do we just plain need "better" in a lot of spots.
