Which RB are we spending an early round pick on?
dollars 2 donuts replied to Pete's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Very respectfully to all I've believed for the last few years that you draft your starting RB when you need a new starting RB, because the thing is you don't have to groom a RB like you do with QB, WR, TE, or OL. If you get one in the later rounds and they take over the job, great. However, right now I am fine with Shady and Gore. I think combined they should be able to get 1,600-1,760 rushing yards for the season which should be fine (throw in another 400 + for Allen which is not unreasonable). If the combination of the two, and then somebody you get in the 4 round or beyond, doesn't work, then you have a priority to get a RB next year. I just don't believe you have to get the kid ready. -
Rochester mayor to announce 6th round pick
dollars 2 donuts replied to Steve O's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I absolutely hear ya, WEO. I was commenting on the post, but was more so thinking about a child or grandchild of the owner or a child or grandchild of someone associated with the team. As you stated that still may even be hard, but I should have clarified that in my post. -
Rochester mayor to announce 6th round pick
dollars 2 donuts replied to Steve O's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I know nothing about Rochester politics, but that aside, this is a tremendous point and a very sadly lost opportunity to recognize one of the founders of the League. Shame. -
"...Gase would have offered at minimum Miami’s 2018 first-round pick and probably more." AND Detroit gets to be quarterback-less while being stuck in cap jail. Friends with Gase or not if I were Matt I would have been belly laughing as I was hanging up the phone. EDIT: I don't love Stafford as much as some do around here, but he is still the QB you build your team around for the next 5 years if you are Detroit.

Sean McDermott interview at NFL Owner’s Meetings
dollars 2 donuts replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Damn straight, Sean! Oh, and excuse me gentlemen, I have to go buy tickets for my wife to see Kristen Chenoweth, one of her favorites, playing with the BPO the following weekend. That's after we go to that place where we throw axes at targets, and then do curling downtown, but before we have fat stacks of steaks at Russell's, one of the top rated restaurants in the country. While I'm at it I better pick up something pretty for her at Lululemon's at the mall. Maybe something she can wear while we are at Niagara-on-the-Lake catching a show at the Shaw Festival, or watching Shakespeare in the park at Delaware, or water skiing on Lake Erie or riding Superman at Darien Lake... ...or eating tacos at Mighty. In your face, NFL player losers. -
Hmm...when I look at these facts they tell me that Gore is an improvement over Ivory. ...but the moron in me says, "hang on there, Buckaroo, don't go jumping to conclusions!"

Man, we have nothing with Baltimore. Simply nothing. No rivalry. Nothing to care about between organizations. I know the NFL wouldn't focus in on a schedule like Buffalo (maybe for Baltimore), but why would they have these teams meet in the first game of the season for the the third time in 4 years?

Kiss me. Come on, seriously, get over here and give me a great big kiss. I don't care who's watching, you've earned it. OK, I will start spreading the dirty laundry on these players now. However, not gonna lie, this is a tall order a month before the draft. Look for headlines like, "Greedy Williams kicks orphan in the belly".

93.7 the fan in Pgh bashes the bills some more
dollars 2 donuts replied to QBorBust2018's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, just trying to decide whether it is Cleveland or Baltimore on this end. Whoever doesn't has a good shot at the wild card. For the first time in my memory Pitt is just an afterthought. -
Josh Allen, Sicko Mode !!!
dollars 2 donuts replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Great post, as ususal! Hap, did you see the Tweet (I forget from who) where it was said that Allen was sacked 17 times within 2.5 seconds of the snap of the ball? Jeepers, man, I know he is still a kid, but let's keep making those moves to make sure he stays upright. I really still want him to make yards with his feet, but I would prefer if he worked harder at getting out of bounds and also slid maybe a step or two sooner than normal to avoid the Kikos of the league. -
CB EJ Gaines 1 year deal
dollars 2 donuts replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You are only saying that because they were a 8-3 in games he started and 1-4 in games he didn't. ...umm...please keep saying it. -
CB EJ Gaines 1 year deal
dollars 2 donuts replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I love this. I wanted this last year. Honestly, things might have turned out a bit differently if they had signed him last year when they had the chance. No, not playoffs, but you know what I mean. That debacle in the first 2 games was gross. I would have paid him 5-6 last year and when (Cleveland?) got him for 4 I was P.O.'d. An easy amount for a guy they liked. -
Josh Allen, Sicko Mode !!!

The thing is, too, his injury last year happened while sitting in the pocket. Hindsight seems to be is that it was a good thing as he needed that time just to step back a bit. -
Actually, SNY, thank you as that made me think of something. Freddie did nothing of any great merit in the nfl either, nor did he lead a team to the playoffs, and obviously he never won a SB. However, I really love the guy and I have fond football memories of him. For me it is the same way I feel about Fitz, although the feeling is stronger for someone like Freddie. and I am sorry if I gave the impression that Ryan should be with the nfl greats. That wasn’t my intent, and he shouldn’t be thought of that way. Just that there is a reason that he shouldn’t be so marginalized sometimes.

If Allen is real deal, bills make playoffs
dollars 2 donuts replied to QBorBust2018's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree. However, I think even if he is ok I think they could make the playoffs. if the kid gives you more than 20 td passes, and 25 or more tds, total, as well as not be a turnover machine like Sam Darnold has been the last three years (I like Darnold, but dig intended there) then it should be a good season. -
SNY, you actually have to go back to my original post as I state when everything is said and done he will not have accomplished anything of great merit, but he doesn’t have to be ashamed of his career. 125 or 126 is a lot of games, albeit he is about 50-75, but he’ll start more in Miami. Again he is not great, but man he has played on many bad teams and will end wandering around this league for 15-16 seasons. I wouldn’t likely give him a second thought if he spent 10 years as a back-up and threw 20 tds in 20 starts, but the guy has accomplished a little more than just yoeman credits in the league. You don’t fall ass backwards into being on the verge of throwing 200 career tds. You also are currently 3 td passes behind the guy who was taken first overall in your draft year, and you’ve had to fight and be traded to be “the guy” over that same period of time for whatever team you’ve played for.

Oh, WEO, you know what I mean. He's never won a SB, never been to a SB, never won a playoff game, never been to a playoff game, never won a division title, never gotten into the playoffs. As I, and others, have stated before they should have picked Wilson in the 3rd based upon his play at Wisc (and not hind sight now) and Fitz should have been the starter during Wilson's rookie year. 71...man, the guy had 71 TDs in 3 season straight season with the team (9 the year before for a total of 80 in his Bills career). Absolutely and the documentary on that game is pretty good. However, his success didn't come from playing football.

Happy Birthday coach McDermott
dollars 2 donuts replied to SlimShady'sSpaceForce's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don’t think he’ll reach 50 with the Bills. I think after the second Super Bowl victory at 48 he’ll want to step back from the game and take a break for a couple of years.
