Win your home games and 1 road game and you are guaranteed to be in the playoffs in all but once or twice in NFL history (believe the Patriots missed the playoffs at 11-5 when Brady was hurt).

I hoped the Bills would beat the Pats as much as anybody. However, putting my eggs in the basket of beating arguable the greatest team of all time, with the greatest ten year win total of all time, tied with the most super bowl victories of all time, with the greatest player of all time (yeah, its OK to say it), coached by the greatest coach of all time, with the best defensive start of all time seems like a fools errand, or betting a coin toss will land on its side. ...but this week? You lose this game and you have problems. I like Barkley a lot but I would still rather have my starting QB going on the road this weekend. This one is so very big for the season. ...dammit.

I had a friend of mine who was one bad coach away from really making it as a pro QB...it's still a sore spot for him. Sure, he never played in college, but you wouldn't have either if you wanted to put such adversity far in your rear view mirror. Why would you settle on that sunset in your rear view mirror when you can focus on the sunrise right in front of your windshield?...which wouldn't be happening at the same time and is frankly impossibly, but I think this group is smart enough to get where I'm coming from. We know his account is accurate as we all talk about it frequently. It didn't stop him from being a success in life...but it may have killed some of his dreams. He is haunted by waters...

Guys, I may be considered a bad fan because after losses I just don't see the point in going on about it so I really don't follow anything the week after losses...onward and upward. ...So I am only finding out about Jeremy and his wife's loss now, as I would have heard live on the radio had the Bills won on Sunday. At this moment I don't know whether I should have heard this or it would have been too hard (my wife and I lost two ourselves). I only know my words are meaningless here, because "i'm sorry" just doesn't do enough. They will not get over this because you never do...but you find a place for it, more importantly them, in your heart forever. Please God bless them, and their little ones who left us far to soon.
