  1. I know it is a very inaccurate term, K-9, but when I was a kid during my high school games my father used to refer to that as "arm tackling". Again, not a great definition or term for it because it likely means the opposite, but he thought of it just as you've stated...taking your shoulder (or arm) throwing it at a guy and thinking it is going to work. Used to drive him crazy and i have come to realize what a true football sin it is. I'll stand by what I have said before, if you remove the sort of projectile tackles or head shots from every level of the game those who were trained that way would be out of the way in just a few short years and the game of football can most certainly survive and you'd be surprised how much it is NOT a wussificaton of the game...rather, a safety concern decision that just makes sense.
  2. Swim I didn't say that. Did you just accidentally post it within one of my quotes? IF so, seriously, would you really order it that way?! I honestly had no idea.
  3. NFL: "We love us some Bills! To show you our love, get ready for all you prime time games next year! They'll be easy to spot! Just look for this!" @
  4. @Phil The Thrill Somebody on this board has been hip to this for a little while.
  5. ...and LA you know for sure that there will be those guys out there that hold on like grim death that will refuse to acknowledge any sort of credit to Josh. I am not at all saying CC is one of them...but they are out there.
  6. The Bills are also the largest city in New York State to have an NFL franchise and it was the first of those cities that had Buffalo style chicken wings* * we get to just call them wings...Seriously, can you imagine being in the shadow of Lincoln Financial Field and saying, "I'd like a Philly steak and cheese, please!"?
  7. We know he is not a fan of Josh's feet...or at least where they point. Just for the record...they point to the playoffs.
  8. PFF focused determined there was a 95% chance that those viewers were tuning in to check out Duck Hodges.
  9. Have you had the steaks? Will change you life, nothing more than the seafood bisque will. He gets a pass.
  10. Look, let's be serious...this is an awesome point by May Day. I want to win the Super Bowl, but if we don't...helping to wreck New England's season and making their playoff run more difficult is just such a tasty little treat that makes me giggle. "Oh, want to go to four super bowls? It's hard, innit' it?"
  11. I can't...up vote this...enough. Please re-post so I can up vote again. BTW, I really hope we aren't about to get a "The Great White Hype" scenario..."oh, NE, you're old, you're washed up, you're going down left and right!" and then BOOM, they smack us upside the head. ...in short...come on, On Field Bills Mafia, let's get this monkey off our back.
  12. Doesn't it make it better, story wise, that at first he didn't want to, and didn't sign here? How do you finish the regular season story...get him 3 more td passes and let this season (with the additional yards) be his career best for receptions, tds and yards.
  13. Sorry if already posted and sorry if I am wrong, but I thought Flutie beat the cardinals on Sunday night in either 98 or 99.
  14. The Force is strong with this one.
  15. I did a laugh emoji, but I wish I could also do a thumbs up one, too.
  16. Oh, maybe House, but "2 Point Dogs" is a great band name.
  17. I am absolutely not suggesting that. I am suggesting that history gets fuzzy as time goes by and some people think that such an event was a routine experience as a Bills fan. It was not. It was rare and special. I believe Thurman may (may) have just had one, that Monday night game against the Jets. Greg Bell had one too....against Dallas when the Bills didn't have a win yet, late in the season...84, I think. I was there. EDIT: use of the word "only" doesn't insinuate an insult, just that such results were limited. Edit 2: @mannc Thank you for pointing out the above so I could clarify. I don't want there to be any confusion for what I was trying to say, which I should have expanded upon originally.
  18. BTW, and I am honestly going off memory from the history of the Bills in team guides I used to look at as I was just a doe-eyed young lad in the 70s, that Bills team that finished an unfortunate 8-6 started the season at 4-0 and 6-2...they let the playoffs just slip away after that and that was it for Lou, the Bills and OJ, really until Knox's Bills. OJ was truly one of the greatest RBs, but with dneveu's reference above, and recent thoughts on OJ's record setting 273 yards rushing for on Thanksgiving's Day shows 2 out of the only 6 times that OJ rushed for 200 yards. The more you know!
  19. You are a treasure, Sir. Stay gold, Pony Boy! Elect SDS President...make HUDS King!* * No payment was made by HUDS to Dollars 2 Donuts for the praise and admiration indicated above. D2D is just a fan.
  20. My parents were upstairs in bed. I was watching the game alone. I was excited about the turn of events and what it meant for the Bills and then I just remember being stunned.
  21. Can't call it hindsight when many of us thought Mack was just plain going to be the pick.
  22. HUDS, it was the great Mahatma Gandhi who once said of the Patriots, "Those guys suck...I'm mean they really do, right?!" It's not in the movie, you don't have to check.
  23. Damn straight we are going to win BA! ...whew...feels good to get that one out there , brother! BA, side note: What is Atlanta thinking about with respect to the Falcons?
  24. A lot, NHK, but man we know this is Pittsburgh...are their fans giving up tickets? So much better if this Steelers team was 5-8 right now, but this just makes this whole season more exacting. Full Disclosure: a buddy of mine invited me to go with him to the game, but work and family just makes it impossible. @NoHuddleKelly12 I've actually been using the "Any Given Sunday" equation/calculator. It is not a full proof computation, but sometimes the resulting figures have been advantageous to football teams named "Bills" and some college basketball teams named "Wolfpack" and "Wildcats"....albeit it helps when you have Italian coaches in basketball.
