  1. And yet you "wasted your time" responding to it. Ya know when ya point one finger at someone your four other fingers are pointing back at yourself... right?
  2. I thought they were still playing but like I said I was never into country music so they're not anybody I'd have kept up with. As far as Primitive Scene/Devils Rock goes I only went there a few times as I worked from 7 pm to 7 am six nights a week between 1977 and 1980 and having a night off on a weekend was a rarity! How about Nightlife... does that name ring any bells with you? They were one of the few really hot bands around here for a while in the early 80's. When I confronted a couple of the guys in the band about doing our wedding one night they checked their schedule and both of them said almost in harmony "might as well... about half of our regular crowd will be there anyhow" :) Being a bartender at one of the area hot spots back then we drew a lot of the same crowd that Nightlife played in front of.
  3. Yeah... small world for sure but that's not him and I'd rather not put my friend's name out there... he passed away at a way too young age of 26 back in 1981. If I'm not mistaken Bill Pitcher and Bill McDonald along with his wife Kay got together and formed the band "Ghost Riders". The two McDonalds are well established in the music scene playing all over the country at some point in time and they wrote a lot of stuff too. It's been a really long time but I'm pretty sure they were nothing but hard core country music and I never saw them myself. I'm not sure but I think both of the Bills might still be doing gigs... maybe not together but separately? I don't care much for country so I haven't heard anything about either one of them in a very long time.
  4. Talas live at the Primitive Scene... aka Devils Rock. The last time I went there was to watch boxing matches! A very good friend of mine was the sound guy for Talas for a while and I used to get the opportunity of hanging out with "the guys" when I attended their gigs. There was also a place near Lockport that I can't remember the name of right now that they played at occasionally in the later part of the 70's. They were without a doubt one of the hottest local bands around at the time that's for sure! There was another band named "The Nightlife Pickers" for a while and then they shortened it to just "Nightlife" in the late 70's and early 80's that did a slew of gigs all around the Batavia area. All of the guys in that band were good friends of mine and we lucked out with their scheduling and got them to play at our wedding reception in the fall of 82. I'm fairly certain we must have bumped into one another likely more than once from reading a bunch of your posts concerning the Batavia area.
  5. Looks like some of you NYSEG customers (depending on your location) are in for a rebate. https://www.thedailynewsonline.com/news/nyseg-customers-to-get-rebate-after-settlement/article_8290bc78-67a1-434d-8634-03fd52f84a0d.html
  6. I don't know what "good things" you've heard about T-Mobile but my neighbor has it and he can't wait for his contract to expire in November. They might be great around the metropolitan areas but they flat out suck out in the boonies where I live. I see him walking around out in his yard frequently trying to get a signal and he told me about the only time he even TRIES to use his cell at home is for a return call to someone that called him. He'd really like to dump his landline but he doesn't dare to until he has a reliable cell.
  7. They're fantastic but unfortunately their coverage area is fairly small... mostly within mid-sized to larger cities but that's about it at the moment. I have a friend that lives in the city that has Empire and I'm sooooooo jealous but when I called there to check availability in my "rural" area I was told we're not even in their expansion plans yet.
  8. AMEN! This crap of sending the whole front line on first and second downs and then turtle up into the historical McD soft zone on third down totally frustrates the crap out of me! It's a good thing my TV isn't smart enough to get pissed off at me cuz I'm screaming my azz off at the poor thing every time they do it!
  9. Cool... I guess I am now one of the "Me Too" peeps! I walked into a convenience store this morning to pick something up on the way home and the first thing I saw inside the doorway was a giant display full of Pride Month crap... I turned around and walked right back out. And I will never go back to ANY store belonging to that particular chain again!
  10. Mary Ann for me too! By the way... ALL of those programs mentioned are still running on good old channel 29 which is now METV. Nothing but oldies... my very favorite channel. Barney Miller on twice every night... back to back :)
  11. I've come to a firm belief that you've invested every nickle you've ever scabbed from the government over the years in Alcoa stock. That tinfoil hat you're wearing has got to be enormous!
  12. Gotta bump your own propaganda Dude? Maybe if you took some of the intelligent people off of your Ignore list you might be able to see something shocking... like the legal time he was allowed to be in that position has come to an end.
  13. You got that right... get back to me when she's within 50 pounds of what her weight SHOULD be. From what I read in that "profile" of her pretty much the only exercise she's ever gotten is in her two thumbs "working out" on her phone.
  14. I've been around long enough to clearly remember Dad dragging my Radio Flyer into the Rockpile with a keg of beer in it. We always sat in the corner of the endzone nearest to the main gate and I usually got to ride back to the car in the wagon with the keg... which was MUCH lighter going out than it was coming in :)
  15. Same info... no paywall.............. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/billy-joel-cancels-concert-tour-dates-health-diagnosis/
  16. Unless you've actually SEEN a coyote in your yard I'm leaning more towards it being a fox myself. There's a pack of coyotes (5 of them last time I saw them during the winter) living in the 200 acres of woods directly across the road from my place and I've seen one of them in my yard a couple of times before but just last week we heard that death screech you're talking about behind our house and when I turned the lights on back there I saw a fox running away with a bunny in its mouth. I've heard it many times before but it still amazes me at how loud a little bunny can scream! :edited for spelling
  17. Would you rather they were discussing why we didn't draft a wide receiver?
  18. For the life of me I could never figure out why people are so absorbed in being the first ones on the road. You just spent about 3 hours in the stadium... what's another 45 minutes in the parking lot gonna matter? Light the grill and have a pop or two... it gives you a chance to chill out a little and watch all the lunatics road raging in the lots just to get to the road a half of a minute before the other guy. RELAX people! You're supposed to be having a good time at the game... right? When you leave your place on the way to the game just plan on being there another 45 minutes or so for a brief "after the game cookout". While you're busy munching & guzzling you couldn't care less how fast the cars are moving!
  19. Watching the Blackbirds, Grackles & Robins hopping around the freshly mowed yard out front and noticed one of the Grackles practically laying down on the ground every time it pecked. After watching this weird "ritual" going down for quite a while I got the binoculars out and discovered the poor little guy/gal only had one leg!
  20. Yeah... right... use T-Mobile. I live pretty far out in the boonies and my neighbor has T-Mobile and I watch him walking around in his yard trying to get a signal on his phone practically every day! We had Verizon for years and never once had a problem getting a signal here but we switched to Spectrum's cell phone service when we upgraded our "package" last year to get a free top of the line Samsung smartphone and I've always got 5 bars on my phone's meter here. He told me he was gonna switch to something else about a month ago so he can get rid of his landline but since he can hardly use his T-Mobile phone he doesn't dare get rid of his landline yet.
  21. I forced myself to watch the last hour and he wasn't on.
  22. https://www.buffalobills.com/stadium/events/ Scroll to the FAQ section at the bottom... free parking in the stadium lots is included with the purchase of the tour.
  23. I got nothing to add... just stopped in for my daily dose of shi$s & giggles. I don't get a daily newspaper anymore to read the funnies so this place is better than watching Comedy Central for me! I have my own visualizations of some of you "regulars" in here and I gotta say I'm pretty sure I know which ones actually own at least one bullhorn.
  24. Yeah... we did those underwater laps too and we also did them in the buff. Not at the same school but I'm thinking that was the routine most of the "athletic directors" used back then... maybe that kind of stuff was in their Teacher's Manuals? Although I loved being in the water swimming wasn't one of my favorite things... just splashing around and playing water related games was always a blast for me. Anyhoo... you would have blown my doors off in the underwater thing! I could make it all the way to the other end holding my breath... but just barely. Now I'm in my 70's with chronic COPD from smoking for more than 50 years... just thinking about holding my breath makes me hunt down my puffer just in case :)
