Hopefully we'll get the chance to see what a D with a fully fit DQ, along with Milano, Bernard, Benford a fit Douglas, a better Von and 1 or 2 new younger guys at the safety position can do against KC in the playoffs. I don't normally like pointing to injuries as an excuse but the D against KC in the divisional round was absolutely ravaged.
Did everyone forget the drops in that game? We should have been over 30 and won that game. As far as defense goes, I blame that on coaching. Look at SF in the SB.
They had good success rushing four through the first half, but failed to create pressure when that was taken away, just like the Bills.

Last year he did but I have a lot more confidence in Milano returning to form than I do Jones, and Milano is flat out a better player. With Jones it is two years in a row he has been ineffective in the playoffs, and I'm just not a fan of signing yet another 30+ year old defensive lineman. This strategy has yet to produce anything meaningful for us late in the season.
But I've said my piece. I know I'm in the minority about this signing, and I get it. At his best DQ has been a very good player for us. It's weird to say this about a 32 year old player but there is upside to this signing. Just not the direction I would have personally gone in.
I agree and I like J.P. a lot as well. It's just the same scenario with him. I'm fine with those two and hopefully we can find 2 good ones in the draft.

AJ is ready for more PT IMO. I’d like to see his snap count over 50% and see what he can do with it. As a plus, he plays on the right side, which lets Groot stay on the left where he’s more effective. Last year Groot spent way more time on the right side than ever before and I think it hampered him.
Hopefully Babich will be allowed to inject some creativity with line stunts and pressures.

Jones was not underperforming at all...he was on pace to be an all-Pro before he got injured...dude was not blockable on the DL the first 4 games.
But yet we only got 7 games out of him. I doubt we get 10 out of him again.

Like DQ ?
And J.P..I like them both but
35 minutes ago, 947 said:I want DQ back as much as anybody, but we fooling ourselves if we think he plays 17 games. We need another 1T even if we re-sign DQ.
Same with J.P. If either ever plays a full season, I'd be shocked. We need Sweat, Taylor, Smith and Javon Solomon. Beane will build a Dline just like the Oline.

We should trade SF 28 for 31 and our 25 1st for Aiyuk. SF needs the cap space they'll come around. We can make it happen.

Not if someone likes them in round 1.
Well, if you're the Pats, maybe you grab MHJ and gamble..?

It’s entirely possible they like Nix or Penix, both of whom should be there.
They'll probably be left for the top of rd.2.

Stats don't usually portray the real effectiveness of a 1T
Missing half a year does....

They are going to try to move up to get a QB...
Them and the Broncos at 11 and 12 are gonna make it interesting. Does J.J. make it that far?

IMO he looked good when given the chance to actually play on defense
He shoulda been covering Kelce, not Klein.

Not really. Actual player usage is what is important - and right now their usage is different. Which player someone labels TE1 is immaterial. That was my point, not that a specific player deserves that label.
Edited to add: I think the long-term plan is for Kincaid to develop as a blocker and become a do-it-all TE. That will pave the way for the team to move on from Knox. But Kincaid is not there yet.
I don't get the Knox hate. He spent all of 2022 having to pass pro for a crappy Oline. God forbid Kincaid gets injured.

When he's on, I agree. My biggest complaint about Mayfield has always been his week to week consistency. He goes on streaks where he plays amazingly well and then riffs off a few weeks where he looks like Trent Dilfer.
For what the Bucs are investing, it's seems to be a good deal for them and very sensible for Mayfield. Good for both sides.
If they have a good draft on both sides of the ball, maybe they go a little farther.

No way am I giving epenesa 20 m sorry.
I love his work but he lost a little flcred on talent evaluation with the Bernard and Edmunds takes.
I could see them maybe getting AJE on a 3 yr. 27mil. with a good signing bonus. Wouldn't mind that at all. I'd really be surprised if some team went over the top to pay him for a starting role. I think he's got it in him and would rather it be here.
Then again, I wouldn't mind hearing tomorrow, they got their hands on Bryce Huff.

If he's smart he will draft Drake Maye. JMO.
Agreed, I don't think he makes it to 3.

If they want McCarthy, they better stay where they are.
Maybe, I guess depends on where Cousins, Wilson and maybe Sam Howell end up.

I wonder if this means Patriots are commiting to Daniels or Maye as their first pick
If I were the Pats, I'd trade back as far as I can (of course everything depends on who does what with FA QBs) and just ahead of the Vikes and Broncos and take
J.J. McCarthy. Then I'd sign C. Wilkins, 1 big name WR and a vet or two for OL. and draft BPA throughout. Bring back Brissett.
We'll see how smart Mayo is.

Why does everyone want to keep brining back oft injured Jones? He can't make it through a season.
I wait and see if he is available in December. Maybe we can get 2.5 months out of him when it counts.
Amen. Same with J.P. I'd take the over 5 missed games on each. Easy money. Give me Fletcher Cox if we're hellbent on 33 yr. olds.

Safety is pretty deep with younger guys. Mckinney, Chinn or Blackmon would work for me. Edge will get pricey. Huff, Armstong long-shot Young. DT prioritize 1 tech. Jones or Rankins.
I think Huff would be doable.

I don't like the pairing of Chinn and Rapp. With Rapp in the box my thought is you would rather pair Rapp with a good coverage safety. Chinn is not a good coverage safety, from what I understand.
I could see them reuniting Rapp with Jordan Fuller from the Rams. I would also like Geno Stone. Draft 1
DL: AJE
Fletcher Cox
Haason Reddick
Draft two DTs and two DEs
WR: Calvin Ridley Draft 2
