Impact Players and the case for doing whatever it takes at WR1

This makes me think of McD's presser (I think during the owners meetings) where he talked about the need to evolve and zig when they think you're zagging and wearing corduroys before they come back and related gibberish. I am encouraged by that given the coaching changes.....I think -
That would be my favorite pair. Let's say we take Ladd at 28. Then trade next yrs. 1st to GB for 41 and 88. (They have two in each rd.) Next yrs. 2nd to AZ. for 66 ( They have 3 3rds.) That gives us: 28 Ladd 41 ( + a 4th to gets us to mid 30s?) Legette 60 ( + a 5 and 6 to get us to mid 50s?) Sweat 66 Walker 88 Fiske or Maason Smith That still leaves us 1 4th/2 5ths/ 2 6ths and a 7? Those 1st 5 picks can all be hits at spots of needs.

And there it is...We signed Von to be "A closer" and got 8 sacks for 9 digits. IMO, the most impactful player we could sign is Latu. Can anyone imagine having a T.J.Watt on this line?...and he may just fall within a couple of picks from us. To me it's a no-brainer. If I'm BB, I'm preparing for this possibility and getting a plan B ready to quickly use a 1st and 2nd next year to get right back in the game and come away with 2 good WRs. There are multiple teams with two 2nds and two 3rds. -
CBS Sports mock has AZ. taking Latu at 27. Oh Hell No
-
I can see them moving up to 26, maybe 24 and getting Latu. Then start dealing.

Calling it now: You're all about to witness the arrival of Shakir
nosejob replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think Shakir has plenty of speed and ability for deep slants, posts and go routes. IMO, he's much more than solely a slot receiver. BTW, I think catch percentage will be a major factor when it comes to drafting now.....at least I hope so. -
Does Beane have a trade with Schoen Lined Up???

They should nab McCarthy at 6! Wouldn't that be a hoot. -
Future NYG starter via our P.S.

How would you construct the 2024 Bills WR Room?

I think a huge addition to our WR success will be if Cook can catch the damn ball. OK I admit it! This is a cry for help. All this is making me crazy. 3 more weeks! UGGH -

No way to all this "let's do the Sammy thing again". Beane HAS to somehow at the very least create a 3rd rd. pick...if nothing else. He is gonna have to use future pick(s) to do it but, we need a good haul of a young core this year. With a 3rd, we can use later rd. picks to move around...or to move around in the 2nd. We absolutely have to come up with at least one 3rd. -

No way would I trade up more than 2-4 spots, and that'd be for Latu. -

True, but they'd have our 25 1st to shop with....and didn't they trade for Burns? Not my problem. Plus they can trade back from 6. Edit: Oh and fill their roster out with our P.S. -

I would gladly give the Giants next yrs 1st for 47, pick 70 and 166. WIN/WIN Gimme Ladd, Legette, Sweat and Maason Smith....then BPA -

I love the BR draft profiles. Seems pretty thorough, easy to navigate and seems to maybe give more realistic selection projections....and my favorite part, pro comparisons. -

Well he is the only trade scenario I would consider. So, give me (28) Ladd and Legette. Two good complimentary guys....somehow. -

How about a 14 mil. signing bonus? -

I like this idea, however, what about trading next years 1st and 4th for Aiyuk while moving to pick 31 and getting pick 90. That would be my take it or leave it deal to SF. Good luck getting a 1st for him with all the WRs in this class. If there's a Chop, an Olineman, maybe a Nix or Pennix that the Niners want, then there's the offer. BTW, Then I'm taking McConkey at 31 and targeting Sweat with the 2nd. -
I would target SF and try to get one of those last 3rds. I think BB's mission is to create an extra 2nd and 3rd. Then those later rd. spots can help us jockey around a bit. I believe in this draft, he want's to make a haul of a quality core for the future.

I'm not banking on some sell the farm trade. Maybe Beane plans on using that extra 2nd as well as next yrs. 1st to create some action in the 2nd and 3rd rds. I'd much rather have 4 picks there to work with( in addition to 28) instead of selling out for one guy.....who could tear an ACL going to the podium.

Thanks, keep em coming.
