Not sure any corner would make me "happy" at #27.... but it is probably the position with the best high end talent options.

    Witherspoon

    Gonzalez

    Porter

    Smith

    Branch (though as a safety)

Are all well worth #27 to me.

    Forbes

    Ringo

    Banks

    Phillips III

    Turner II

Would all be bargains at our 2nd round pick.

Few of the other guys I'd be happy in round 3.

When it comes to BPA, we may be forced to go this direction at 27.

Kancey very well could be the next DT off the board after Jalen Carter

He's ranked no. 2 behind Carter and then there's a huge drop off in ranking after that.

Kancey, Campbell, Sanders and Simpson could very well be long gone before 59.  We obviously have the 26 teams in front of us.

Then there's the Texans and then the Lions and Pitt. who both have 2 picks in the 2nd ahead of us.

No matter what anybody thinks or who they would want, Beane sure has his work cut out for him.

Hell, there may not be a WR with a 1st rd. grade left as hardly any of them are to begin with. The top tackles and TEs could be gone as well.

The only good thing is 4 QBs going in the 1st. We could be screwed.

I actually saw a Bears podcast where they asked about trading the #9 pick for Oliver. I know they aren't that foolish though. I'd be all for that move!

Yeah I don't see that however, here are some targets to shoot for in a trade:

    Bears Rd. 2  53/61  Rd. 4. 103/133  Rd. 5 136/148  They also have 2 7ths.

    Texans Rd. 3 65/73  They also have 3 6ths

Lions Rd. 2   48/55  ( which would put us ahead of the Steelers 3rd pick.) They also have 2 6ths

Since it's highly doubtful they keep Ed after this year, Now (or draft day) is the time to move him and get the greatest return. I say now. Get the ammo to get Hopkins and Patrick Queen from the Ravens. One could be had for a mid rd. pick and a conditional pick next year and the other could be had with a mid rd.

The trade for Queen being a draft day deal if LB quickly becomes slim pickins.

Something needs to happen. We at least have to get Hopkins and we can get his cap hit under 5 mil. this yr.

    Until proven

This is from MDD, again value/need

    27

    Darnell Wright

    OT | Tennessee

    59

    Tyler Scott

    WR | Cincinnati

    91

    J.L. Skinner

    S | Boise State

    130

    Roschon Johnson

    RB | Texas

    137

    Luke Schoonmaker

    TE | Michigan

    205

    Robert Beal Jr.

    EDGE | Georgia

It;s hard to take serious drafts with RBs, especially early to mid rds.....or at all. They may pick up a big body UFDA, but as it stands, we are set at back.

Cook, Hines, Harris....with Gilliam as a FB and still have Duke Johnson. They won't waste 1 of 6 picks on a RB.

Let the board fall on this one, and while Bills fans would be apoplectic after the first two rounds (calling for McBeane's removal, no doubt) I think the rest falls nicely (probably unrealistically) for perceived needs and long term value. And of course, BUILD THE TRENCHES

    27. Lukas Van Ness - EDGE Iowa

    59. Calijah Kancey - DT Pitt

    91. Matthew Bergeron - OT Syracuse

    130. Ricky Stromberg - OC Arkansas

    137. Bryce Ford-Wheaton - WR West Virginia

    205. Max Duggan - QB TCU

I love it and this would be perfect with a draft day trade of Oliver and picking up ILB Patick Queen from the Ravens. However, no way Kancey slides, but we can hope for the reverse of 1 and 2. 32 more days....

I’ve already made the ultimatum a week ago. It’s Hopkins or else. His entire job this offseason should have been prioritizing another weapon for Josh. We are in an arms race with KC/Cinci. If Beane doesn’t realize that’s, then I don’t want him as our GM.

He must do this for the Motherland!!!!!

  7. Funny Tasker was saying today that this is all pretty much made up wishful thinking. Not he or anybody he knows has heard jack squat (not quoting) and there;s nothing going on with restructures, salaries or anything else that would indicate anything taking place....and after following this thread, that sucks. I'll just hope for to be surprised all of a sudden with breaking news.

Patrick Queen avoids contact more than any MLB I have seen. He makes our departed MLB look like  Dick Butkus. He plays like a free Safety. No thanks!

    117 TKL  5 SK 6 PD 2INT 9.5 TFL  1FF 2FR...and I'm sure I'm missing something.,,,and that's year 3. A 1st rd (no.28) pick that could possibly be had for a mid rd. pick.  I wouldn't compare him to Edmunds in no way.

  9. It seems like your comments after shoot down your picks. Great effort obviously went into this, but too many trades, and for those reasons we have to chop you.

Edit: I am impressed with your background....if that's any consolation.

Oliver is still young and at 25 is just going into his prime. Another coordinator may feel he was just type cast wrong in our defense and a change in scenery could bring the dominant dtackle everyone saw in college. He has had glimpses at times with us. Personally, I wouldn't be sad if we kept him. I feel like he plays his butt off for a big contract somewhere else in fa this year if he stays with us.

I like ED and kinda hope he gets to play through this year. Unless Carter slides or we draft Kancey, I can't see how we can replace him in the draft. Signing a vet still means we'd have to find a trade partner.....but yet I want Hopkins....IDK.  However if I'm really looking to trade him...Detroit has 2 2nds and the Texans 2 3rds.  I wouldn't let him go for peanuts. With a change in scheme and play calling, he could have a very good year.

I really want Darnell Wright T Tennessee with pick 27, but unfortunately it sounds like Beane is going to give Brown one more chance at RT. I don’t agree with that...let’s hope it’s just a Draft smokescreen to keep other teams guessing.

    1. Darnell Wright

    2. no. 48 from Lions  Campbell/ Sanders/ Simpson/ Foskey   for 2023 6th, 2024 2nd and 5th ( puts us ahead of the Steelers)Lions have 2 2nds

    2. no. 59  Sam Laporta / Darnell Washington TE

    3. BPA C

    4. BPA DT

    5. BPA S

    This after we land Hopkins.

Given we brought in two new OGs and re signed Ike and Q we can probably get away with just drafting 1 OL early this year. Beane has actually set us up pretty nicely for the draft.

But replacing Brown and getting a new #2 WR our still must dos. So I'm still holding judgement.

But he's got us set up to get it done. Draft RT WR LB and DT first four picks.

Also have options like d hop obj and bobby Wagner.

Chris Trepasso of CBS sports was on WGR yesterday and said his no. 1 tackle is Darnell Wright and he thinks he is by far the best pass pro tackle in the draft.

Queen is bad.  The player and the band, there I said it, both suck.

117 Tackles   5 Sacks   1 FF   2 FR    9.5 TFL  6 PD   2 INT.  Year 3  28TH PICK RD. 1 2020   Name 1 LB in this yrs. draft that you could expect that from.....we'd be lucky to get one of the top 3 and that would have to be at 27,  not to mention this could be a draft day deal.

EDIT: My bad I just got that.

  14. Denver doesn't really want to move Jeudy. Hopkins is getting up there, although would love to add him.

But what if Campbell and Sanders are gone by 27? Could we flip Ed for a 3rd rounder then trade to Balt. for Patrick Queen who looks to be a pro bowler for years to come? They signed R. Smith to 100 mil. and tagged the dummy. They have until May 1st to decide to pick up his 5th yr. They can't afford all that and Queen ain't happy.

They can pay Ford and give Queen a new contract that could keep the hit down and have the money left over for Ford. That would allow them to go all in on offense although an Edge like Isaiah Foskey at 59 would be cool.
