Yes, actually. That comparison works well. Tressel was similar in that he came up with great game plans and his teams were very focused in their execution. I hate that we lost, but I’ll be cheering IU on in any game that isn’t against OSU. Just a great accomplishment and story.

As a Bucks fan I hate to say this, but this game reminded me of one long ago: Urban Meyer was at Florida and had already won a championship, but Nick Saban was gaining steam at Alabama. It was the SEC championship and Saban’s Alabama team was up against Meyer and Florida. And Bama won on a clearly better game plan and execution. You could just FEEL that Saban was smarter and had his team laser focused. This game felt like that. Cignetti was smarter and his team was more focused and executed beautifully. Im not saying IU is going on a Bama run, but things just got VERY interesting in the Big 10. PS This didn’t feel like the Michigan game last year when OSU, in my opinion, beat themselves with a terribly called game: IU out did them at every level.

Indiana’s game plan is really well done, but looks to me like Ohio State’s talent is winning out. But boy, what a game so far.

Just checking in: AWESOME win for OSU! Should have been a beat down last year if we would have passed the ball aggressively down the field. So finally, it feels right again! Congrats to Hartline. We were never going to keep him forever. Good luck to him. Thankful Henry Jr. signed with us after all. I understand the hesitation, but OSU is bigger than Hartline and I think we will roll on pretty well. Waiting with bated breath to see who the OC is going to be. Kelly again? And what about WR coach? We shall see. Really looking forward to the game tonight. I really admire IU. That said, I just don’t think they are likely to overcome the talent gap for 60 min. We shall see. I expect OSU will win by 2 scores+ (but any given day…) Finally, I know it is false hope, but I think OSU should make Patricia the highest paid college coordinator ever and try to build a Bama-like dynasty. I’m a Bills fan, not a B.I.L.L.S. fan. I only care about winning a Super Bowl. Wiffing on 2/3 first picks in the last three drafts (Elam off the team and Coleman benched) ain’t getting us closer. and in the case of Elam, we had to use our first round pick this year to make up for that mistake instead of taking another player. If you’re cool with it, you’re cool with it. Apparently, you and Terry Pegula have that in common.

Yes, very frustrating. I remember when we picked Elam: I preferred Woolen, even in the first because I believed in his talent and mentality. Granted, we could have had him later (we did take Cook in the second that year) but it’s that kind of thing too often that has left us with a superstar QB and a slightly above average / average talent roster.

Said it was a shiz pick on draft night. THIS has been my major frustration as a Bills fan: watching them make stupid decisions and KNOWING they are bad decisions in real time. It’s maddening. I wanted Xavier Worthy at that pick or Ladd McConkey in a trade down. But no, McBeane is smarter than everyone else because he got LUCKY passing on Mahomes (stupid) and lucking into Allen.

Very well laid out. If Bills fans aren’t sick of McBeane yet it’s due to delusion of some sort… hope, marketing, not understanding the basics of football, etc. The offense is screwed yes. But the defensive cupboard is also bare due to poor drafting in general. As you point out, Josh KNOWS. Must suck.
