Or he isn’t getting snaps because the Bills played the Superbow champ Rams, the tied for #1 dolphins and a surging Baltimore team in a tough early schedule. He played in our blowout and played well. I think he will get more consistent opportunities moving forward. Maybe even Pittsburgh this week if we come out stronger than we have last 2 games.
-
He legit has only like 12 or 13 carries on the season and has some nice receptions for yards when he’s been in. He’s clearly to me in the doghouse because of his turnovers and not valuing the ball and any coach would bench a rookie for that right away. A couple things in his favor though are his speed and ability to catch. He’s got tools and you can see that. He’s also Dalvin Cook’s brother and has a pedigree and was able to show out in college to prove his own worth. Bottom line is that he needs time and more carries, but coming into more than one game in the first four games as a rookie and either fumbling or dropping passes immediately isn’t going to ingratiate a rookie to the head coach etc., especially in a potential Super Bowl season with close games.

Mafia descending on Miami, Phins fans not happy about it...

Get ready for that silent count Tua….🤣 -
I watched those Tua highlights from this week. Most of the big gains were RAC on screens etc and Baltimore’s defense was atrocious. It’s gonna be a ton harder on Tua this week. His guys were wide open vs the Ravens all day. I’m positive that won’t happen vs us. They’re gonna have a hard time with our front 4 and everybody else in coverage.

He’s certainly fast and is going to be quite good when he starts getting more comfortable. He’s gotta get more minutes and hopefully we set up more passes out of the backfield for him. All the negative nonsense is silly. Kid is very talented and his bloodlines are proof of that as well. He looked very Dalvin-like on that big run for sure. Agree we need to bolster the line moving forward. It’s necessary for the long term success of Allen, Cook and the rest of the team.

100%. The Fins invested a lot in speed and are trying to copy the KC method of play with tyreek in the slot, hitting Gesicki and hitting a lot of mid-range stuff. Tua doesn’t really have the chops for threatening the long passes on every down though like a guy like Mahomes does. It will be a challenge but I think we will defend against them with Tua’s limitations in mind.

I’m actually excited to have Shakir active and I think we might be surprised to how well he can produce in this one. We still have plenty of WR’s to go to. They’ll focus on Diggs, but with Shakir, Crowder, Kumerow, Knox, McKenzie we should be ok. i do however, see the common wisdom shared by many on this board that we probably could have used another young Non-slot wideout on the roster to bring along because Kumerow is not a solution overall. I think Gabe being inactive will hopefully create attention to that need moving forward.
-
No big deal. Get Shakir out there, keep Cook active to get into open field. We have lots of options with Diggs, McKenzie, Crowder, Shakir etc.

Titans will be without their End Landry for the game which should help. Like last game, I think the key is defense and our front 4. I think it will be a lot harder for Henry this year. I think another key could be to get James Cook involved catching passes out of the backfield. Time to get him some carries and some confidence. Time to squash this number the Titans have done on us over past few years. Time for it to be our year.
-
While we haven’t had much luck vs the Titans lately, it changes this year. I believe the Titans offensive line is ranked #28th in the league entering this season. They will have a nightmare with our front 4 this year.

Jordan Phillips is the best DT on this team.

Well the d-line is now deep and athletic and can really get tot the QB. Add that to the fact that we mostly only rush the front 4 and plenty of those sacks become “coverage sacks”, because we have to devote little manpower to blitzing. This line is gonna be a handful for most teams simply because everyone on it can put pressure and the average 5-man O-line is going to struggle to match up man to man across it with the multiple guys we have. We also bring in fresh waves on the front 4. It makes it so much more difficult. -

Not missing a step without Tre. Benford and Elam look like vets. Defense line is killing it. -
Is Allen routinely fooled by pre-snap disguises?
Aurelius replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
It’s why I think Allen is starting to get into the sweet spot in his career. He’s getting smarter, becoming a better leader, and learning all the nuances. Young QB’s in the NfL have a bear of a task. Criticisms as a young QB should be taken with a grain of salt. Anybody else realize that Matthew Stafford wasn’t a household name until 34 years of age simply because he is now playing for the rams and not Detroit? He’s always been talented but hitting his mark now. He still turns it over though so we gotta get him uncomfortable thursday. -

Allen only played 4 seasons, and he was running for his life in the first 2 of them with no blocking etc. The guy has already set massive records despite first two seasons being tough. This is still only a 26 year old QB. Of course he’s not 100% learned all he will learn in this game. It’s a stupid argument. Brady has been some of his best self in his early 40’s. Keep surrounding Allen with the talent to win and he will roll. Not to mention that he has been rushing for 750/season and improvises on the run better than most QB’s I’ve ever seen. -
Week 1: Bills at Rams on TNF in NFL Kickoff Game
Aurelius replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think a lot will come down to our newly rebuilt defensive line putting pressure on Stafford and forcing him to throw earlier than he wants to. Having guys like Von and Oliver , not to mention some young and talented guys who can pressure the passer in Settle, Rousseau etc, will be a real difficult task for the Rams offensive line. Bills might have a similar combo that the Rams had with Von/Donald, in Von/Oliver. Having those two guys coming at you, with a lot of depth across our D-line to keep them fresh will be a task. I look forward to seeing it. I think our D-line will be a difference-maker this year. -

Stafford ranked #1 in INT’s last year. Need to coax more outta him this Thursday. -
The Bills made some real sacrifices to keep Spector on the roster. I think it was worth it as I think he will be productive in whatever minutes he gets. I don’t think he’s Zac Thomas just yet, but it speaks volumes that the Bills cut guys like Hodgson amongst others to keep him.

Sam Martin in Buffalo on a visit (Signed to a 1 yr contract)

Secretly huge signing. Having a reliable punter and kicker are major quality metrics pieces to every football team. This is a good sequestering of cap space. Add a pro bowl punter to this squad and it’s honestly a huge add.
