Dud fight. I think the fans deserved more, but no one should be surprised it played out this way. Both fighters seemed very pleased to have the huge pay day for a tepid little exhibition. I think Manny's legacy will be diminished in the long run, since he did not produce any fireworks fot his biggest event. But Manny does not care anything at all about that. And Floyd's rep is totally secure. He's dominant, but boring.

I actually quit over the Bills once. I was young, working at Ames Dept. store. It was a Sunday and I was the electronics dept. guy. I had the Bills game on. My boss told me I had to turn it off. I told her I don’t need this. I left and never came back. Finished watching the game at home.

The condition of that field was really unforgiveable. Makes the USSF look really foolish.

I just discovered that this was a soccer thread. Good performance overall from USA. The field was a disaster, so it messed with the flow of the game, but I saw some encouraging things: Juan Agudelo looked better on his goal than I have ever seen him look before. Nice control on the first touch to bring the ball down, calm as he moved with it towards the middle and then a perfect finish to the near post. Mix has been listening to his critics and finally showed the defensive aggressiveness that his game has been missing. He made some great nasty tackles to take the ball away quite a few times. And he still showed his usual good vision in the attacking third, creating many good chances. Omar Gonzalez looked more confident than he has in a long time back there in the middle. Especially in the air, he controlled everything he was asked to. And his young partner, Alvarado, looked like a legit central defender too. Central defense seems like an area of strength now. Bradley's best game in a long time. Nice, forward-thinking distribution and playmaking.

It's pretty ugly when there's incentive to lose. The big European soccer leagues have their own problems, but this is one thing they get right. Teams always have something to play for. If you finish in the bottom three of the English Premier League, you get relegated to the next league down. I think it would be cool to see this in major U.S. sports, but It'll probably never happen.
