The condition of that field was really unforgiveable. Makes the USSF look really foolish.

I just discovered that this was a soccer thread. Good performance overall from USA. The field was a disaster, so it messed with the flow of the game, but I saw some encouraging things: Juan Agudelo looked better on his goal than I have ever seen him look before. Nice control on the first touch to bring the ball down, calm as he moved with it towards the middle and then a perfect finish to the near post. Mix has been listening to his critics and finally showed the defensive aggressiveness that his game has been missing. He made some great nasty tackles to take the ball away quite a few times. And he still showed his usual good vision in the attacking third, creating many good chances. Omar Gonzalez looked more confident than he has in a long time back there in the middle. Especially in the air, he controlled everything he was asked to. And his young partner, Alvarado, looked like a legit central defender too. Central defense seems like an area of strength now. Bradley's best game in a long time. Nice, forward-thinking distribution and playmaking.

It's pretty ugly when there's incentive to lose. The big European soccer leagues have their own problems, but this is one thing they get right. Teams always have something to play for. If you finish in the bottom three of the English Premier League, you get relegated to the next league down. I think it would be cool to see this in major U.S. sports, but It'll probably never happen.

Well, then at least it won't be hard to replace. The guitar on the other hand... The uke, I wonder if it's the same one I have. Lanikai LU-21C, concert size. It's a pretty popular model for amateurs like me.

Sorry, that blows. As a fellow guitar and uke owner, I sympathize. The Bible thing surprises me. You wouldn't expect a Christian, even a crooked Christian, to steal a Bible. And a non-Christian wouldn't have any interest. It must have been a very fancy, nicely bound edition.

I was hoping "punching the toddler" was a euphemism for something funny. Alas,...

I picked... G. Parsons NY Dolls Ozzy Pixies Replacements Smiths ...but mostly I don't care. The R&R Hall of Fame is about as meaningful as the NFL pro bowl. Edit: I like the Flaming Lips too (if you don't count their last couple albums). I didn't know they were eligible already. I'd also add Pavement, Capt. Beefheart and the Butthole Surfers if it were my personal H of F.

Ouch, I really hope that's not true. If it is, that will spell the end of my interest in the Orange and all things NCAA. I'm hugely pissed about how unfair all this is to the fans and to current players who get punished for the misdeeds of others that occured when they were in middle school.
