  1. I like the extra daylight in the evenings, but it's just that getting up this morning helped me realize very acutely that my alarm is a dirty good-for-nothing cheap whore whose soul is rotten. But yes, I could use a little help.
  2. That's offensive. Please submit your apology in writing as a new thread.
  3. Wow, I thought this thread had run its course, but more crazy **** keeps popping up.
  4. Great piece of journalism from Fox News. I love the final line... This unruly passenger is just the latest example of what a nightmare flying has become
  5. You have correctly identified the two most popular fallacies of PPP: 1. ad hominem 2. argumentum ad lapidem
  6. I fully expect that pretty women prance around naked all the time. In my imagination they certainly do. I can't think of a more wonderful thing. It's strange to me that anyone would try to argue that that's somehow shameful.
  7. You're all over the place. Being an attractive woman is not a crime. If you have a problem with her credentials as a journalist or with ESPN's hiring practices, then you could make those arguments. But none of this has anything to do with the fact that she was stalked and spied on and abused.
  8. Im sure her lawyers advised that she not glam it up in court. Obviously any lawyer would do the same in any similar case. Also, its not unusual that she would want to look nice when at work on camera, being seen by many thousands of people. I dont agree that any of that would constitute bad faith on her part.
  9. I'm glad for the big $ amount. Surely it's meant to be punitive to the individual scumbag and the hotel who put her at risk. I think it sends the right message in this culture which has routinely not respected individual privacy.
  10. You just don't point a gun at your own face. Everybody knows that. It's a no brainer.
  11. I get this song in my head every time Albania is mentioned. And I have a grandmother who was born there, so it's fairly often.
  12. I still have my guitar and practice amp at home, so despite the lameness of nu-metal and the sad state of record labels, I know it's not dead completely. "With my Les Paul, I know I'm small, but I enjoy living anyway. Yes I do!"
  13. Malkmus appears on some of the Silver Jews stuff, but not much overall. It's David Berman who is the brains behind Silver Jews. Although if you don't like the bands you listed, you probably wouldn't like Silver Jews either. By the way, Pavement is one of my favorite bands of all time. And yes, some of the Royal Trux stuff is clearly meant to scare people away, for example the entire Twin Infinitives album.
  14. Ah, good call! I love Royal Trux. I was always surprised that more people don't like the Silver Jews.
  15. Genny Cream tastes best near Lake Ontario. That was my personal scientific discovery of the last century.
  16. This thread has turned disgraceful. Edward James Olmos is turning over in his grave.
  17. I feel duped. Now that we're all here, we might as well celebrate something. Happy Birthday, Edward James Olmos! https://www.google.com/search?q=edward+james+olmos+birthday&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8
  18. The New York 70's music scene is hugely interesting to me. I've read several books about it. But Vinyl looks super cheesy.
