  1. I think it's a little disingenuous to pretend like there is no meaningful REASON that Duke and others support Trump. I think we all know that they do because they believe it will help their cause. I think we all also know that Trump has played his hand carefully in not alienating these people.
  2. Not a tranny basher, just a fan of some of the John Waters movies. Oh, so this doesn't represent anything significant about Trump as a candidate or about which side the racists are lining up on for this cycle? Trump is certainly being coy about kind-of-but-not-really disavowing this element.
  3. Well, then she's not doing it right. Here's what a real trash queen looks like: http://stmedia.startribune.com/images/ows_139777056365792.jpg
  4. That Trump is trash.
  5. Here's the methodology, including the 10 twitter accounts they tracked... http://www.demographicspro.com/insights/trump-supporters-follow-white-nationalists-on-twitter
  6. “Black guys counting my money! I hate it. The only kind of people I want counting my money are short guys wearing yarmulkes… Those are the only kind of people I want counting my money. Nobody else…Besides that, I tell you something else. I think that’s guy’s lazy. And it’s probably not his fault because laziness is a trait in blacks.” - Donald Trump (quoted by John O’Donnell in his 1991 book) “The stuff O’Donnell wrote about me is probably true.” - Donald Trump (Playboy interview, 1997)
  7. Monica Morehead sounds like a pretty funny Bill Clinton / Lewinsky reference.
  8. First of all, he's not MY anything. I have no idea who this guy is. Also he said "Blacks *WHO ARE HELPING THE OTHER SIDE* are f*&$ked in the head." (you left that part out). You wanna talk about the people supporting Trump? 35% of Trump twitter followers also follow white supremacists... http://forward.com/news/breaking-news/353186/35-of-donald-trump-twitter-supporters-also-follow-white-supremacists/
  9. You're out of your mind if you think both sides are the same on civil rights.
  10. The Trump movement absolutely has some bigotry "baked in." I think it would be a big step backwards to have that legitimized.
  11. Well, she's exaggerating some. Of course lots of people had good times. But if you happened to be gay, it was not so easy. You definitely had to keep that a secret at school, work and probably even with your family.
  12. She's not wrong though

  14. I never said that. I never wanted any of those wars, going back two Bushes ago. The topic was the refugees. But I guess we're opening it up to time travel. In that case, let's go back a couple decades and re-think our position.
  15. So, we're gonna SHOOT THE MOON! (oh boy)
  16. I think that's right. We got one boiled ass dead frog on our hands.
  17. Ok, I'm bumping this one more time, because now many Republicans are saying that they will block ANY scotus nominee that Hillary names, for the duration of her term. I'm surprised this doesn't get more attention. How can this be acceptable even to suggest? How is this anything other than crybaby whining and the Republicans being bad losers (before they've even lost)?
  18. I don't know. I don't even have an office. I don't know why I said that.
  19. uh, no 7's the key number here. Think about it. 7-Elevens. 7 dwarves. 7, man, that's the number. 7 chipmunks twirlin' on a branch, eatin' lots of sunflowers on my uncle's ranch. You know that old children's tale from the sea. It's like you're dreamin' about Gorgonzola cheese when it's clearly Brie time, baby. Step into my office.
  20. I agree. Well said.
  21. Welcome to planet Earth I'm not sure what planet you're on.
  22. Well, that's the made-up crazy answer. The shorter, true answer is that some people view it as the good, compassionate thing to do to provide a haven for people in need and that we should do our share to help.
  23. Sounds like a synopsis for a particularly bad episode of season 3 of Westworld, long after JJ Abrams has jumped ship and the writers have given up.
  24. I'd say so. Not only is factual information scrambled beyond recognition, but there is a moral degradation that takes place too. Camus wrote that morality is ultimately not that complicated. The average person has a good basic understanding of what is right and wrong in terms of how to treat people. According to Camus, it's the job of the politician (and other institutions--I think you can plausibly include corporate interests) to convolute issues of morality, in order to get people to do things and to allow things they would not otherwise. The result is a practical Moral Relativism, in which the con artists are able to act without consequence.
