Fake news! That movie was great.

This is a disturbing non-answer from Pegs. His compassion as a human being apparently does not extend much further than his personal wealth and ambitions. As we all know, it’s not just about concussions. The repetitive lower impact hits to the head over and over are likely just as dangerous. [***Disclaimer: Yes, yes, yes, I know all the science is not in on this issue and the sample sizes are still quite low. However, any sensible person at this point would have to admit that the anecdotal evidence as well as initial studies do point to something very significant and scary here...at least to the extent that further study is required. To say, "I don't want to talk about it" is crappy at best.] Pegs shows simultaneously his willful ignorance and lack of concern here.

I hear you and I get your point. It just scares me because it seems like a badly written sit-com type of solution. I mean, there’s a reason you don’t let Gilligan fix the coconut radio. Sure, it would be great if the Skipper and the Professor could get on the same page and get something done, but as Deranged Rhino will point out, none of it matters as long as Mr. Howell is pulling all the strings behind the scenes anyway. (the mofo's probably selling blowdarts to the headhunters on the sly). -

No, I'm agreeing with you. But at the same time, it's worth mentioning that if we are treating Trump as a toddler, than there's a case to be for not having him sit at the grown up table when grown up things are being discussed. -

When you say, "Pissing off the media elite and Washington insiders is not hurting the country one little bit..." I might tend to agree with you if he was pissing them off by genuinely challenging them on content. However, your implication (in the context of what we're talking about) is that Trump's twitter hissy fits can be legitimized as this righteous re-balancing of power. It's a nasty tweet about a woman's bleeding face. That's not productive in any way. And I believe that it does "hurt the country." -

Yeah, those nasty elitists. Thank goodness we have the heroic, cultural-norms-transcending, selfless champion of noble causes, Donald J. Trump, to stick up for the little guy. -

Spicer and Sanders have really really hard jobs. I'm guessing they are paid pretty well. It surprises me how many people are willing to volunteer to make excuses & apologize for the child king for free. -

You see this as Trump vs. the media. Others (including myself) see it as Trump vs. the American people and Trump vs. decency. I think that somewhat explains why you are so quick to defend what is really just childish, abrasive, inappropriate behavior. There is of course some truth to the idea that Trump is actively trying to discredit the media. It's in his interest to do that. It's a strategy that helped him get elected. But the article you quote is a bit off the rails in making it out as a grand plan to "change the culture by violating its norms." That's a bit bonkers. -

I'm not screaming for his head. I'm not calling for impeachment. I've said many times in this forum that many liberals are acting crazy and stupid. I've conceded that the media is garbage. I'm not grinding any axe. I'm not pushing any agenda. I just pointed out that his behavior is terrible. It constantly surprises me that anyone would tolerate it. I don't think that's even a controversial stance. All this pushback. THAT'S what I don't get. Please(!) Show me something that I've said that is false or dubious or disingenuous. You and some others keep assigning to me beliefs and positions and affiliations to groups that are not accurate. -

Many people see his public behavior as a serious problem and an embarrassment. Apparently you do not. And it's not as partisan as you think. Many republicans are uncomfortable with him as well. How does Trump insulting civilians (what's with the bleeding women obsession?) on twitter help accomplish anybody's policy goals? -

I definitely did not take it that way. I just very childishly took the opportunity to make a dumb joke about Trump because (and to point out that) his authority is laughable. It's not a reaction to or a statement about your position on Joe. He may be guilty of a terrible crime. I do not know. -

a) Ok, I conceded that B) Remains to be seen, but yes, innocent until proven guilty. 3) "Helping Russia" is not a bad thing necessarily. The question is, helping Russia do what exactly... I'm not interested in trying to defend the media. There are certainly some good journalists, but the majority of network news is clearly pretty bad. It's a circus of ratings, sensationalized hot button BS, etc... there is no question. But if you look at Trump's own words, just in his tweets, it's a portrait of a seriously unhinged person. He's an emotionally wounded little fourth grader. And that's dangerous.
