Nobody I know has been dressing up as a vagina. I won't waste any keystrokes defending those idiots. You can cherry pick images from the news and pretend that it represents a population at large, but, again, it's a fallacy. It's called Hasty Generalization. It's far too common and comes from people all over the ideological spectrum. You're just grinding your little axe. Grind, grind, grind. Libs, libs, libs. Dems, dems, dems. I don't see the point of it. -

Well, that's the fallacy of PPP. It's always bad. Its not really a political issue--just gets made out that way around here so some can keep pushing that rock up the hill each day. -

it's a sound strategy. I think I'll just stop fighting my agoraphobic tendencies and let things play out naturally. -

Dammit! I hope this one isn't true. I gotta stop looking at news, all of it. I need a break. Maybe I can get in on the tail end of this opioid epidemic before it goes out of style. -

I think Flake's position is the right one. Trump is an absolute horror show, a national embarrassment, but so far nothing can be demonstrated that is worthy of impeachment. I agree that it would be nice if more politicians had the balls to speak out against some of the things Trump says & does, but it's within the President's authority to continue to act like a petulant childclown if he so wishes.

Happy 2nd Birthday to DC Tom
Cugalabanza replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in Off the Wall Archives
Here’s a little bit of information about the “Terrible Twos” that we may find helpful: This is a trying time for your two year old. Some of the challenges that Tom is going through at this stage can lead to frustration, misbehavior and tantrums. During this time, expect that you and Tom will occasionally lose patience with each other. Try to stay calm. When Tom begins to get worked up, try to redirect his attention. If you can't distract Tom, ignore him. If you're in public, take Tom aside without discussion or fuss and wait until he has calmed down before continuing with your activity. Also, consider avoiding challenging situations — such as going shopping during Tom’s nap time — and be sure to praise him for appropriate behavior. By accepting the changes Tom is going through and showing him love and respect, you'll help Tom make it through this difficult stage with confidence. -

Obviously, a hashtag is no substitute for real life activism. I can’t believe I’m defending this, since I’ve never been on the Facepants or Assbook or Instacrap and I don’t follow all the Twits. BUT… if it makes people feel good, if it helps some people who are hesitant to speak up to have some small voice and a way to feel part of a community and to feel some empathy from others who have suffered… how is this not a positive thing? In any case, it doesn’t do any harm and it’s easy enough to ignore if you don’t like it. Is this not what these social media thingies are there for? Is this not a good example of people using it in a positive way? The fact that someone would go out of his way to poopoo this kind of thing is odd to me. I think it shows a person’s bias, because I don’t think it’s the medium that’s really being objected to—I think it’s the core message. And I can’t see any reason for a person to bother standing up to say this is not a worthwhile message. It IS worthwhile. -
This week opened the door in its bathrobe and it went downhill from there. (too soon?)

I dont remember exactly. Its easy to find though. Took place in DC, the group was the lovely and talented Identity Evropa. EDIT: heres a link: https://www.necn.com/news/national-international/Men-Hang-Anti-Dreamer-Banner-Outside-Immigration-Law-Office-451009963.html It does say DC police are investigating as a possible hate crime, but thats it. Maybe it developed more after this article. I dont know. Whats a radio? -

I found something on this, but the article did not say anything about protesters being arrested or charged or prosecuted. Just that they were there with that sign and that some other people were there calling them nazis. -

The United States Does Not Qualify for the World Cup

I wish Tim Howard could still be the same old Tim Howard that he was that day against Belgium... http://i.imgur.com/eTEBKOl.gif -

Cugalabanza replied to Elite Poster's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I think you're right. That was such a weird game. The tension was almost unbearable. Just trying to hold on, Howard standing on his head and doing backflips keeping the ball out of the net. I agree that it was Klinsmann's strategy, but it's so painful to watch--just trying to hold on the whole game, playing what is essentially "un-soccer," hoping for a bit of luck late. It reminds me of the Dick Jauron style of "un-football," where you just hope to get some freak turnover and win 13 to 12 in the dying seconds and sneak out of there before the other team knows what happened. ...Then the Wondo moment right before the end of regulation. Then Belgium scores two early in extra time. Then, Julian freaking Green scores a goal in his first touch (and possibly last) in a World Cup game. THEN, the USA almost (!) ties it up with a pretty sweet arranged set piece late. But just miss. Kind of sums up the total experience of being a USMNT fan. Pain. -

I watch every qualifier, every friendly. I used to start soccer threads regularly, but they would always get hijacked by trolls, so I gave it up.
