  1. We haven't seen Juliet all season. She just has to be Jack's ex-wife, right?
  2. All you jackasses are a bunch of Clavins! I win!
  3. If this thread were Cheers, that would make me Gary’s Olde Towne Tavern. (i.e., I always WIN!)
  4. It's turtles all the way down. I noticed in the “Across the Sea” that there was a shot--while Boy-in-Black was staring out to sea—of a turtle washed up on the beach. I believe this is a nod from the writers telling us that we will not be getting anything definitive about any “first causes.”
  5. Sounds reasonable to me. It’s only for juveniles and in cases where no one was killed. It does not guarantee release, but does give them a chance at parole in the future. I think it’s a reasonable interpretation of the 8th Amendment (no cruel and unusual punishment). To look at a young person and make the judgment to categorically deny them even the chance of rehabilitation as an adult seems unfair. I think this ruling makes good sense. Of course, we have to have some faith that those parole boards will make the right decisions down the line.
  6. What?! You know damn well I like and respect Lana. It's her accounting I don't trust. For the first eleven years it was top notch, but it's become quite clear... she's slipping.
  7. Such impeccable style and class. How do you do it?
  8. Ok, sorry about that. Thank you for not disqualifying me.
  9. I know a couple of Arab-American girls (One from Iran, one from U.A.E.). Both are very pretty.
  10. I have just one thing to say to you right now, you over-officious jerk: Poopy!
  11. Yeah, screw the Brits! America all the way! We got a new Miss USA and she's hot (link courtesy of GoBillsInDallas). We're gonna embarrass England on June 12 in the World Cup. And an American, gringo starr, just won the Last Post Wins thread!
  12. I served my disqualification. I can win again. Whew! Good thing it wasn't a Permanent Disqualification.
  13. I think you could squeeze a couple hangovers in there somewhere.
  14. Tom Waits – “I Don’t Wanna Grow Up” (The Ramones do a nice version too) When I'm lyin' in my bed at night I don't wanna grow up Nothin' ever seems to turn out right I don't wanna grow up How do you move in a world of fog That's always changing things Makes me wish that I could be a dog When I see the price that you pay I don't wanna grow up I don't ever wanna be that way I don't wanna grow up Seems like folks turn into things That they'd never want The only thing to live for Is today... I'm gonna put a hole in my TV set I don't wanna grow up Open up the medicine chest And I don't wanna grow up I don't wanna have to shout it out I don't want my hair to fall out I don't wanna be filled with doubt I don't wanna be a good boy scout I don't wanna have to learn to count I don't wanna have the biggest amount I don't wanna grow up Well when I see my parents fight I don't wanna grow up They all go out and drinking all night And I don't wanna grow up I'd rather stay here in my room Nothin' out there but sad and gloom I don't wanna live in a big old Tomb On Grand Street When I see the 5 o'clock news I don't wanna grow up Comb their hair and shine their shoes I don't wanna grow up Stay around in my old hometown I don't wanna put no money down I don't wanna get me a big old loan Work them fingers to the bone I don't wanna float a broom Fall in love and get married then boom How the hell did I get here so soon I don't wanna grow up
  15. Perhaps the true mystery of the island is how it keeps getting all these super-gorgeous ladies to hang out on it. Electromag-daddy!
  16. I agree with you. I still love the show as much as ever. I don’t have any objections at all with this week’s episode. The more I think and read about it, the more I get the emotional impact that the writers were going for. I hope you don’t mind that I took this quote of yours as my new sig line. I kind of laughed when I read it. It has a weird twisted truthfulness. It’s sort of the opposite of a truism because technically it’s a contradiction, but somehow it manages to convey a Yogi Berry-like deeper meaning.
  17. I definitely suggest drugs. By the way, I'm just stopping in to check on all you nutcases. Wawrow made it clear that I've been disqualified, so hopefully someone will post after this real quick so he doesn't get angry. You wouldn't like him when he's angry.
  18. I agree. To me, the central theme of the show has been “man versus his flawed nature.” The whole purpose of the Hanso Foundation/Dharma Initiative/Valenzetti Equation has been to identify and correct the malfunction in human nature that seems to always lead to self-destruction. And this is apparently the nature of Jacob’s game with his brother. It makes for great drama. However, I get the impression from some fans that they actually expect this TV show to provide a real solution to this problem. It’s like human history will forever be divided... The pre-Lost era, when there were wars and suffering and then we achieved absolute paradise on Earth thanks to J.J. Abrams, Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse, the saviors of the universe.
  19. Wow, the word "penultimate" used correctly. A rare thing. Roscoe might sneak onto the roster, but I doubt it.
  20. The ultimate secrets of the universe, its creation, what happens when you die, the meaning of life, time, existence, and how to get girls.
