USA I’ve been following the USMNT for a while now, hanging on every play through meaningless friendlies, minor tournaments and qualification games against teams like El Salvador, Jamaica and Trinidad & Tobago. This is pretty awesome!

And about 8.5 hours before I can start watching it. I have to go through my day like this:

I haven't seen it. You've made me curious. I just checked it out on IMDB and it gets a 3.3/10! I mean, I try not to be swayed by reviews and ratings, but 3.3? Seems like most of the people who enjoyed it, they enjoyed it ironically. What is up with that? Is this movie just hugely misunderstood?

I thought of a good one. The posthumous Elliott Smith album, From a Basement on the Hill. For some reason, I did not think much of it when I first heard it. Now I think it’s great and is as good as any of his other albums. I’m also slowly coming around on the double-album released after that, New Moon.

Oh man, I just saw the score in the Portugal vs. N. Korea game. In yellow below... Portugal 7, N. Korea 0. Looks like one of the sleeping giants is waking up.

Lots of big games this week. Today is the last of the 2nd round games. Then Tuesday through Friday we’ll see all the groups get decided. In the final group games, both games take place at the same time so nobody has the advantage of knowing more. Two groups a day will get wrapped up. Lots of big stories. Tomorrow, for example, we may get to wave au revoir to the idiotic, lazy, selfish, egotistical and mutinous French team.

I had to look it up. Actually three red cards. (2 for USA, 1 for De Rossi). Crazy game! What I remember most is how Donovan worked his ass off like a maniac to fill all the holes in the second half. He must have run 10 miles in that game, covering every inch of the field, basically lifting team USA up to get the point. I think that the people who disrespect Donovan do not give him enough credit for being the consummate team player who has shown that he will do the dirty work for his teammates. I still take some pride that USA was able to steal a point from the eventual champs.

That was a great game! I know there a million soccer haters will never understand how a 1-1 draw can be a thrilling thing to watch, but that was pretty good. It reminded me of USA vs. Italy 4 years ago when USA held on for the draw despite being a man down. I am still expecting for Italy to get through. It's a better WC with them in the knockout stage.

I got to see my Dad today here in Atlanta before he flew back home to Rochester. Very grateful to spend some time with him this weekend. Happy Father's Day!
