Answer:
11 Socks.
No matter how you slice it, the highest REMAINDER (number of non-paired socks) you can have is THREE. So, with eleven socks, you will always have, at worst, 4 pair, plus 3 leftover.
Food throwing I can understand, maybe even respect in a comedic sort of way. But anybody who would piss on a piece of pizza is in desperate need of a beatdown.
New day, so I get to submit a new five...

Butthole Surfers - Hairway to Stephen
Leonard Cohen - Greatest Hits
Ween - The Pod
You might have a Univision or Telemundo on there with coverage of the early game.
And yes, if USA had gotten past Ghana, it would be madness. Facing Uruguay with a chance to see the semifinals would be beautiful. It breaks my heart.
And yet we do. We carry on in spite of it all. Like Sisyphus, I shake my fist at the Gods of the Last Post thread. Ha! I laugh with scorn at the folly of it all. Ha! I say. Ha!
Yeah, well... that's the good news. The bad news is now that we've had this amazing moment of enlightenment, what is there left in the world that could compare? What's the point of carrying on?

Sure. Really. Give the guy a chance to fully recover from his torn knee tendon. The Gooch you saw (briefly) in this WC is not the true Gooch. When fit, he is a top notch defender.
I would also make the case for Benny Feilhaber if he stays healthy and can latch on somewhere where he can see good competition.
Here's the #1 guy to look out for: Stuart Holden. He's 25 now. He has the skills, the touch, the vision, the creativity. This was not his year due to an already crowded midfield and the fact that he was coming off a broken ankle. He will be a big star by 2014.
