  1. Support your local record store.
  2. The entire series of Lost would be edited down to one 5 minute short about some nice people taking a flight to Australia to learn the value of hard work.
  3. Wow, you take away all those things and all you have left to watch are episodes of According to Jim.
  4. I'm curious what people think about the chances. I'm thinking Probably NOT.
  5. In the words of the poet, Dr. Octagon... "Now my helmet's on--you can't tell me I'm not in space"
  6. That’s a good one. I once had a Georgia woman tell me (about some Civil War museum that she was recommending), “it’s so durn innerestin’ you almost can’t hardly stand it.”
  7. Don't forget to take that left turn at Albuquerque.
  8. Pretty cool. Of course, he was not the first animal to orbit the Earth. That was Laika, the dog, in 1957. One more reason that dogs are better than people.
  9. I often feel like I work at a penis museum. I am constantly in awe of our unbelievable collection of dicks.
  10. Stevie Wonder's. By a wide margin. I know it's sacrilege to most people, but I've never been a big SRV fan. However, I do really like his "Couldn't Stand the Weather."
  11. Wow, it’s suprisingly hard for me to come up with examples. I guess I’m kind of a morose SOB when it comes to songs I like. I could come up with hundreds of sad, depressing songs that I love. Anyway, here are a few... Stevie Wonder’s “Superstition” (not so much lyrically, but it’s such a great groove) Coltrane’s “My Favorite Things” (his crazy take on this great melody haunts my mind) Pink Floyd, “Bike” “I love Rock ‘n Roll” by Joan Jett / “I Wanna Rock” by Twisted Sister / “Rock ‘n Roll All Night” by KISS / “Rock and Roll Heart” by Lou Reed. (Rock songs about the power of Rock always make me smile, especially when it gets defensive about how I have the right to rock and you can’t stop me and I’m gonna do it all night long, etc...
  12. I’m tired today and I have a stiff neck. But it’s a nice day and the Sabres are in the playoffs. So there ya have it.
  13. I'll check it out. Thanks! A friend of mine just went to see Kurt Vile and J Mascis here in Atlanta. He got to meet and talk with Kurt for a while before the show. Said he was very cool and nice. They talked a bit about John Fahey. My friend was so excited about it, he couldn't contain himself.
  14. With the exception that she somehow figured out a way to score.
  15. Man, that’s kind of sad. That sunlight travels 93 million miles to warm your face and then gets blocked at the last second. That’s a raw deal, Charlie Brown.
  16. Does the sun shine down on us or are we just in its way?
  17. Sorry, I was way off on that. And that first album was the huge one—just about all the songs were bit hits. The 80’s is when I was aware of them being huge on the radio. And I admit I did like a bunch of their songs. The guy’s guitar playing was pretty impressive and he had a really distinctive guitar sound with the crunched up distortion. I mean no disrespect to our rock forefathers.
  18. They named a baseball team after that cheey 80's band?
  19. Pretty much all of the new music I buy, I get on vinyl. Typically, the record comes with a code for a free download of the album. So I get my geeky turntable jones and I can burn it do cd for the car and have it on my computer & ipod too. Record shopping is one of my great little pleasures in this world. And I'm excited to see more & more stuff available on vinyl. My latest purchase: Childish Prodigy by Kurt Vile. Very very nice.
  20. I think he should have titled that song, "I Can't Score 55 (on an IQ test)"
  21. I'm with you on this. My turntable gets used all the time. More than my cd player. Keeping records clean and in good condition makes a big difference. And a good needle will bring it to life. The sound of a good record fills the room in a much more pleasing way than cd or mp3. It's not a myth or an affectation or nostalgic pining for a lost era. It's a fact. I've done the comparisons and I hear it for myself.
  22. Grammy awards are to good music what bologna sandwiches are to ankle surgery.
