  1. True, obviously you can substitute and probably not even know the difference. If you order it as a shooter, I think it's understood that it's supposed to be Crown. When you extend the drink to a full size summery thing, it's fine to use any whiskey.
  2. Wow! That was one of the best games I've ever seen. Incredible win. Go USA!
  3. Red Snapper: Crown Royal Amaretto Cranberry Juice Over rocks
  4. Pretty entertaining. USA vs. Brazil in the quarterfinals on Sunday. Should be a good one.
  5. Very good. I'm a dad and I have a little girl!
  6. So, like, is there gonna be football or what?
  7. I recently listened to Stevie Wonder's "Isn't She Lovely" while looking at my brand new baby daughter and it made me lose it a bit.
  8. Thanks, everybody! Really looking forward to taking my ladies home tomorrow.
  9. It's a... GIRL! She arrived last night at 10:16pm. Baby and Mommy are doing great. I am thrilled, exhausted and infinitely grateful. You are a crafty sort.
  10. Ditto. As much as it pains me, I have to admit that they're the better team and they definitely deserve to represent the region in the Confederations Cup. I think Mexico is on the rise and poised to compete with the top nations. They will probably be a top five team when the WC rolls around. Meanwhile, the U.S. is treading water, trying to figure out how not to get sent home by Ghana once again.
  11. Here we go... Should be a super classic game.
  12. Wow. Do you rate USA's talent level that highly? Like AJ, I'm curious to hear your thoughts about Adu, who I'm happy to see has worked his way at least back into the conversation. Seems to me that the one position where team USA has a wealth of players is attacking midfielders. Besides Donovan and Dempsey, there's Holden who in my opinion is hugely talented--he just has a hard time staying healthy. I feel almost as good about Feilhaber (I know I'm probably in the minority there). He's had some poorly timed injuries too which have hurt his progress. Even Bradley seems to be evolving more and more into an attacking-minded player. Tough for Adu to work his way into the permanent mix. I'm rooting for him though. So much great natural touch. My dilemma for tomorrow is to watch the final on FSC (standard definition with English language commentary) or Univision (HD, in Spanish). I'm leaning towards Univision. Go USA!
  13. That's true. That's the part I had in mind. Obviously, if this game was at Azteca, USA would have almost no chance.
  14. He said his favorite movie of all time is... Top Gun That's all you really need to know. Putz!
  15. I can't believe I wasn't aware of this site. Seems great. I just bookmarked it.
  16. Do we ever really? Good idea, but I have to run it by the grandparents to be. I'm not so sure they'll go for it.
  17. Don't hold your breath for a ton of highlights. Yes, Adu came on in the second half. I think he did very well. He played a great long ball to Donovan on the right wing which he turned into a nice assist to Dempsey for the only goal. It was a really great goal. USA dominated the play, but they once again struggled with finishing. Altidore is listed as out 4-6 weeks with a hammy. Agudelo looked kind of weak to me. Lacking touch and vision. He had a great game about a year ago and that keeps earning him playing time. That's starting to wear thin in my opinion. He needs some fresh evidence to keep him in there. Panama tried to get scrappy in this one. USA did well to keep tough without losing cool. I would have like to see a wider margin, but that's how it goes sometimes when your opponent tries to take the air out of the ball. (see Buffalo Bills 2006-2009) Watching Mexico vs. Honduras now. They (Mexico) are having the same problem as USA. It's clear they have superior talent, but it's still 0-0 in the second half because Honduras is playing Jauron Ball. USA is going to have to dig deep to find a way to beat this Mexico team in the final. The home field is on our side, but Mexico is the better team. By the way, Univision in HD > FSC in regularD by a long shot.
  18. Hmmm... As far as I can tell, the USA vs. Panama semifinal (Wed. 6/22 at 7pm ET) is not on FSC or ESPN. I do see it listed on Univision. The bad news is I don't get it in English. The good news is that the FSC announcers suck anyway. Also, I'll get to watch it in HD. I only get FSC in LD. No way in hell team USA loses to Panama twice in a row. My prediction is that we finally get our **** together and win 3-0.
  19. I've heard this before and I believe it. I've had some very nice times with mushrooms. It's been quite a few years, but given the right setting & circumstances, I'd go again.
  20. Yeah, that was a DUMB play! I was yelling at the tv. However, my vote for dumbest goes to Dempsey in the last game. In case you missed it. I was glad to see much improved play overall today. And Jamaica is no joke--they have some talent. The comically poor finishing though continues to exasperate. I feel like the team rallied when Altidore got hurt early in the first half. Jermaine Jones, Bradley and Dempsey all played very well I thought. The back line was fairly solid. No major breakdowns--that is, until Capt. Charlie Blackmouth did his best to hand Jamaica an easy goal right at the end. Looks like the U.S. has to play Panama again in the semifinal, on Wednesday. The other semifinal is Mexico vs. Honduras.
  21. USA 1 Guadeloupe 0 They got the win and dominated possession, so why am I so pissed off? Because I've never witnessed a more candy-assed display of poor finishing in my life. Did anyone else see Dempsey's un-goal in the 76th minute? I know almost nobody is following this, but please tell me somebody else saw this $#%&ing embarrassment. Altidore's goal was a thing of beauty. And there were good performances from Bocanegra, Cherundolo and Michael Bradley. Dempsey had about 8 excellent scoring chances and came away with nothing. I don't know why this team continues to struggle against nations the size of %$ing Tonawanda. I like Bob Bradley as a person. I respect him. However, he needs to be fired.
  22. That seals it! We're gonna have 15 kids, just so I can use all these great names.
  23. Incredibly, Aphrodite is my grandmother's name. She goes by Deda. It is one of the names we (very briefly) considered.
  24. I wonder what will be harder for me to deal with, the devil child or my girlfriend after more than a full year term of pregnancy!
