  1. At this point in his career, the guy wants to stay home with his family and ties. Nothing wrong with a gentleman's agreement or retirement.
  2. One report said he was weighing several options. Perhaps Bills reached out and he asked for a few days to get back to them. They still have several decent options so not forced to panic quite yet.
  3. He’s on the team because there’s familiarity…and there’s nobody else behind him. He didn’t so much earn the spot as he did sort of fall into it by default. They got value in return for a 2nd rd bust and Mancz struggled with health. I’m not even sure who else to mention.
  4. I understand the irritation with cockroaches like Sweeney and Jones. But coaches value leadership intangibles and ST. As a fan, I have no insight into those nuances and whether there’s any return on investment over the course of a season. I’m more baffled with retread scrubs like Lawson and Phillips who have zero upside.
  5. More so generally baffled that the OL is still mediocre with little depth, TEs the same, and CB is a wild roll of the dice amongst rookies.
  6. Injury issues.
  7. Only notable in that it was a junk pick the moment it was announced. The guy can’t move. And he couldn’t move on his tape either. But hey he’s tall!
  8. To make room for punter presumably.
  9. McCloud and Mancz cut
  10. As expected
  11. Anderson G/C Mancz G/C Bates G/C Hart G/T I’m not aware that Van Roten has any actual effectiveness at C.
  12. Only drama left to figure out re: cuts is who exactly gets PUP’d.
  13. > Hart
  14. Rather unfortunate the Dawkins restructure goes toward eating Howard's contract.
  15. Generally agree. I only have Mancz and Doyle off the initial 53 for injury considerations. McCloud is the last roster spot and probably wouldn't survive until the opener if Mancz/Doyle is ready or if in the likely event they sign somebody else.
  16. Appearing something like: QB - Allen, Keenum RB - Singletary, Moss, Cook, Jones FB - Gilliam WR - Diggs, Davis, McKenzie, Crowder, Shakir, Kumerow TE - Knox, Sweeney, Morris OT - Dawkins, Quessenberry, Brown G - Saffold, Bates, Hart, Van Roten C - Morse DE - Miller, Rousseau, Epenesa, Basham, Lawson DT - Oliver, Jones, Settle, Phillips LB - Edmunds, Milano, Dodson, Bernard, Matakevich, Spector CB - Jackson, Johnson, Elam, Benford, Neal, Lewis S - Hyde, Poyer, Johnson, Hamlin. McCloud ST - Ferguson, Bass, X Guessing White, Doyle, Mancz, and Stevenson to injured list(s) and Smith suspended obviously.
  17. Rest easy. They lost on a boneheaded decision by the head coach and a smoked (overrated) defense.
  18. It goes beyond this week. OL has remained a concern since they neglected it at draft. Saffold/Bates/Quessenberry/Brown have pitfalls. Fingers crossed Morse can stay consistent and healthy. Didn’t like the Elam pick from day 1. We shall see if the youth strategy at #2 corner proves more effective than Beane’s vet flops. Fan presumption that roster is iron clad is wishful thinking.
  19. I can’t believe they’re bringing back another mediocre OL with weak depth and no expansion of the TE position. These are missteps by Beane.
  20. Howard cut is rather brutal on several fronts. Beane taking L’s lately.
  21. Also it should be noted it makes no sense for Bills to trade Moss. He adds a unique dimension to their backfield not otherwise found on the roster.
  22. Great deal and maybe best possible outcome for the 49ers.
  23. I think it’s 3-4 players protected per week. And no cap on number of protections per player.
  24. #13 might be a little high considering he’s perhaps #5 at his position. This ranking isn’t based on upside, athleticism, or skill set. It’s based on performance.
