  1. Agreed. And they'd lose their top weapon on offense and take a cap hit in the process.
  2. Bills are not in position to "reset" like the Chiefs. They don't have a valuable asset to trade away for additional high picks. Their roster is already littered with holes. They don't have the luxury of a Pat Mahomes who can stabilize any "rebuild" effort. They don't draft as well. And, of course, their cap is wrecked.
  3. You think that relying on players like Cook, McKenzie, Shakir, Epenesa, Basham, Dodson, and Bernard is a sound strategy for next season. Terrific.
  4. Bingo. “13 seconds” was the end of their ascension. Credit for becoming a playoff team, but they’re no longer a championship contender. The roster is a mess. The question is: how long is this plateau before a cliff or change?
  5. You could say that about several other players too, but they can’t afford to create more holes on this roster with so many needs already. There aren’t enough realistic avenues to upgrade. We can hope Beane hits on one or two early draft picks and adds a couple second-tier free agents who can play, but that’s about it.
  6. It's quite scary with a tight cap and no extra picks. Epenesa could be moved for a 5th, but there's no one else under contract (and with value) who they'd realistically try to trade. Losing Oliver wouldn't be worth the return due to his contract. Harsh reality is that guys like Brown (RT) and Davis (WR2) will remain starters because there's no avenues for improvement. And they'll still have gaping holes at RB, WR3, OG, DE, MLB, and S among starters.
  7. Hope he does well and never heard from or seen again in Buffalo.
  8. Bills can't be sending day 2 picks away for second-tier wideouts. Even if Brown is an upgrade, they're better off drafting a WR, leveraging that rookie contract, and maintaining a modicum of financial flexibility for other positions.

  10. Given the Bills cap situation, it'll be another year of Beane filling out at least 1/3 of the roster with dumpster vets on one-year deals. Not sure if it's intentional or not, but it's become his methodology.
  11. Hill had more value than Diggs now, Chiefs were primed to win even without him (Mahomes + Kelce), and their front office was capable of maximizing the draft pick return. At this point, losing Diggs would cripple the Bills offense and we know Beane throws darts during the draft.
  12. This stuff gets blown so far out of proportion...but alas it's good for content. I'm fine with trading him so long as the thought process is to blow the whole thing up. If it's a one-off trade for whatever financial/personality reason, then no thanks.
  13. Absolutely (and unfortunately), they need more DL this off-season. Miller can't be counted on. Lawson may have earned himself another decent contract in free agency that could price him out of Buffalo. Epenesa should be shopped for a mid-round pick. They literally have Rousseau and nothing else at edge.
  14. Priority free agents: The rest: 1. Edmunds 2. Jackson 3. Dodson 4. Martin 5. Lawson 6. Keenum 7. Singletary 8. Poyer 9. Matakevich 10. Crowder 11. Lewis 12. Phillips 13. Klein 14. Jones 15. Johnson 16. Marlowe 17. Quessenberry 18. Kumerow 19. Hart 20. Boettger 21. Sweeney 22. Murray 23. Saffold 24. Van Roten
  15. The win streak was smoke and mirrors - ugly wins against mediocre teams. They were able to duck the one good team during that streak who were quite clearly primed to blow them out.
  16. Unfortunately, it seems the only way the Bills will ever overcome the Chiefs in the playoffs is, well, luck.
  17. Agreed. Sabres are in position to begin identifying and pursuing a couple (expensive) vets to perhaps put them over the hump. It’s a convenient position - and one they SHOULD be in given their glut of top picks over the years. Bills are reaching the point of annual roster turnover and hoping a collection of vets and spare parts can gel and overcome.
  18. I don’t think either team wins a championship anytime soon. But given their depth and youth, the Sabres have a more realistic window in the next 3-5 years. It takes less wins in the NFL to get one, but the NHL usually proves to be a more even playing field once you get into the playoffs.
  19. Elam was frustrating but still has upside. Jackson is an RFA and who knows about Benford at this point. They won’t trade Elam and Jackson/Benford have little value. There’s no deal to be made here. Plus, they can’t trade away cheap contracts.
  20. A still capable vet like Carr is perfect for the Jets. They’d be a really fun (dangerous) team.
  21. At Irvin’s attorney’s request, the judge has now ordered the hotel to turn over video as well as names of the accuser and those who received the complaint. These kinds of threads get updated, right?
  22. I’m calling right now this thread reaches 100 pages with a couple vicious bumps along the way.
  23. This is the danger of going back to the well and hiring coaches removed from the game based on past glories. It becomes an old-timers club because their connections are stale.
  24. This Beckham stuff is a virus. It spreads. It mutates.
