  1. It's shocking to think that acquiring McGovern (essentially another Bates) could be their answer at OL. Dumpster diving for a few more one-year vets and a mid-round draft pick would be absolutely unconscionable at this point.
  2. It's not crap. There's tread on the tires (which is why he wasn't desired in free agency). Given age and recent injuries, each new season brings added risk of diminishing effectiveness. His spot was an opportunity to get younger, cheaper, and perhaps better (if early draft pick). Alas, McDermott opts for recycling what's comfortable.
  3. Limited free agent options for a potential WR2, but I did hope for this guy. Need a WR within the first 3 rounds of the draft.
  4. We went from post-Bengals where fans actually started to take an objective look at this team and own, perhaps even aim to improve, the glaring issues. Time does heal. And now we're right back to the incessant spin, rationalizing, and desperate efforts to minimize moves by other squads. And so it goes.
  5. Wait a second. He’s beating the doctor’s prognosis by a month or two?! Sort of like how he said he was only missing a game or two??? Please post all credible sources on his supposed return date. Honestly, I’m curious now.
  6. Beane re-signs Singletary incoming.
  7. Johnny Rivers is working overtime with the spin tonight. Just wait until Rodgers to Jets is official. He’ll literally be writing a fiction novel on here.
  8. Well sure, because he signed with the Bengals. If he signed with the Bills, you’d be doing nude cartwheels.
  9. Wow! Which deck chairs does Beano shuffle next?
  10. Figured they’d call it an off-season missing out on McGovern and Harty.😂
  11. Bringing back the same defense - with more tread on the tires, without Miller and Edmunds, and relying on vets to overcome injury - is concerning. They still need a replacement MLB and another pass rusher opposite Rousseau. Perhaps there’s hope for an actual upgrade therein…
  12. Nothing they've done so far moves the needle.
  13. The cap is merely a suggestion. Every GM manipulates it. More to the point, the product that Beane has put on the field is going in the wrong direction.
  14. That'll do.
  15. I can't say I disagree. This roster is brutal right now. Secondary may indeed be the strongest unit because it actually has warm bodies.
  16. This assumes White, Hyde, and Poyer recover from injury. That Elam develops. That Lewis/Benford are able to make a successful position change. That Jackson won't be forced into extended playing time again. Lots of questions.
  17. It's not fine. It wasn't fine during the playoff losses. Time doesn't make it fine now. Edmunds replacement is critical along with another pass rusher. Miller can't be counted on this season. If the upgrade/addition is "a healthy Hyde," that's not going to cut it.
  18. You should save that segment and file it away for a rainy day.
  19. While I understand efforts here to minimize will shift into overdrive, fact is this move would place the Jets behind only the Chiefs and Bengals in the AFC. Who knows if they'll meet expectations, but the landscape is changing...
  20. How so? Report is that they didn't even offer him a contract. He settled for returning to Buffalo because he wasn't in demand.
  21. Is it? Hyde and Poyer have officially graduated to the level of: into their 30s, slowing, and injury prone. All they need now is a 33-year-old MLB!
  22. This guy is breaking down and, hence, a slow market. It was time to move on. Of course, McDermott takes him back. Can't wait to see the price tag.
  23. You can't reason with the fluff fans. Everything is gold until it isn't.
  24. Positional flexibility is Beane's thing. Perhaps even more so than actual ability. Both McGovern and Harty fit the bill as well as the concern.
