Will DeAndre Hopkins be available this offseason?
Airseven replied to NeverOutNick's topic in The Stadium Wall
Upside: Hopkins is still a top 8-12 WR even though he’s lost a little speed. He’s rarely “open” but will usually catch anything and everything near him. Ideal jump ball guy. He’d definitely help curtail Allen’s inaccuracy. Downside: Age, contract, trade compensation, and potential leadership and locker room issues (this coming from PX media). I don’t put much stock into the PED thing (other than his comical “don’t call it a comeback” hype video when he returned). PX media has Cardinals asking for a 2nd at least. A trade will also require a new contract/re-structuring and possibly the Cardinals eating some salary. -
The plan is to draft defensive front 7 early and often in predictable and depressing fashion.
-
If by long term, you mean short term, then yes, Harris and Cook could be a very interesting duo.
-
Worst part about it. Top 2 picks likely LB and DL.
-
Hart re-signed incoming!
-
Outlook isn’t much different at this point. Swapping Saffold/McGovern and McKenzie/Sherfield/Harty are perhaps slight upgrades but they don’t move the needle. These are depth players. I’ll take Harris over Singletary as I think he can be more explosive - IF healthy. There’s still a concerning reliance on Brown and Davis. We’ll see what the draft brings.

Bills need to get younger and need cheap rookie contracts. Hopkins still has something left and he’ll be a contributor for another team next season. He doesn’t make sense for the Bills. I wouldn’t want anything to do with Beckham either, but obviously he’d have an effective role on the Chiefs. -
This signing was best case scenario at this point. Untapped potential if he can get healthy.
-
I bet Beane wanted Singletary and pivoted to Harris once Singletary chose the Texans. Beane worries me.
-
Worries me he’ll waste a 3rd to move up.
-
This is fair. I pray for the former but fear and expect the latter. Predictably, Beane has cornered the "depth WR aka core special teamer" market
-
Who has time/motivation to selectively pluck these videos and then post overly-generalized commentary pretending said selectively plucked video is wholly representative of the player? I ask because it's silly and misleading.
-
They’re filling out depth of the WR room suggesting Davis is still WR2 and the position won’t be a priority in the draft.

I haven’t been as engaged with the draft this year for several reasons. So thank you for this. Terrific thread. -
The Cincy game & its affect on how we view the team
Airseven replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
Terrible OL. Everyone struggling outside of perhaps Morse. No leverage, no push at LOS. Brown a turnstile. Saffold a shell. Allen reverting to his mean. Inaccurate, erratic, likely injured. Davis and McKenzie both non-factors. No support for Diggs. Knox stuck inline to help the porous OL or otherwise not utilized in pass game. Play-calling issues need not be elaborated upon here. No pass rush. No replacement for Miller. Epenesa a ghost. Oliver and Settle both non-factors. White slow and ineffective. Elam apparently benched at one point. Jackson lacking physicality. No replacement for Hyde. Poyer breaking down with an assortment of injuries. Lack of scheme aggression need not be elaborated upon here. These are off the top of my head to give you a fair reply. I’m sure I’m forgetting something sorry. -
The Cincy game & its affect on how we view the team

Plenty of obvious issues with the team well before the Cincy game, but that game crystallized - it was the hard slap across the face where even the most ardent deniers had to face reality. Of course now, with time, some fans are right back to thinking the OL is good to go among other wishful thinking.😆 -
Fans don’t seem to care about Harty’s arrest. I think Hunt would be a welcomed addition.

What would you like to discuss instead?

Cut him. Who cares.

Why do people keep making this point? It’s likely they were indeed “in on” them. Players opt to sign elsewhere.
