    AZ 98.7 speculates Ossenfort won't settle for a 3rd round pick for Hopkins, in part, because it's his first trade. But teams know it's a necessary salary dump and aren't meeting the asking price. Only leverage Cardinals have is to wait.

    The point is what Arizona would accept. Posters want Arizona to want Oliver and a late pick. They don’t. It’ll likely take a 2nd round pick plus some kind of later pick swap. And the obvious hang up is his contract both in terms of a re-structuring for a trade partner and the dead cap Arizona is forced to eat.

    Arizona is in a re-set year with new management and Murray an unknown. They’re trying to clean up their cap too. They have zero interest in Oliver as essentially a one-year player. They’re taking DL at pick 3 in the draft.

    Indeed. He was just promoting the idea. He wasn't teasing anything. He wasn't "trolling." For that matter, Rodgers wasn't holding up the trade because of his personnel demands. Fans are gullible and desperate.

    The Edwards signing boosts the IOL so, for better or worse, I think they're about done there. R1 - LB/OT R2 - OT/LB R3 - WR/DL R4 - DL/WR R5 - S/TE R6 - TE/S

    And as long as the guy's bell isn't still ringing. I presume this signing is sneaky good and under the radar, so yes, I am actually pleased.

    If they add a player like Hopkins, then they better also prioritize OL or it isn't worth it. Whether Hopkins is acquired or not, the greater issue is Beane's complacency with this OL.

    This makes a lot of sense in terms of need, cap space, and surplus picks. Perhaps for 1 of their 2 4ths and 1 of their 2 7ths.

    Using jargon like “with ease” and “without question” means you’re full of internet fluff. On the other hand, the fact I put “open” in quotes means I used a little nuance. Those weren’t my own observations but rather the local analysis by people who cover the Cardinals every day as opposed to watching your YouTube highlights and reading your fantasy stats.
