  1. Two schools of thought. McDermott prioritizes familiarity which gives Jackson the early nod. Have to assume he wants to see more from Elam - perhaps related to performance, work ethic, personality, who knows - before giving him more reps. He's an old school, earn it type. I do agree that knowing what you have in Jackson vs. wanting to test Elam is also a fair point. The head coach just isn't in that camp.
  2. Allen is still young and capable, also inconsistent and tends to lose his footwork, accuracy, and brain under pressure. Can't continue to expect his arm and athleticism to overcome everything. The simple fact he's big and can withstand impact is a valid point...so far.
  3. Past performance isn’t a reliable predictor for these players approaching their mid-30s, particularly RB and other speed reliant positions. The cliff is close and it’s steep and injuries an ever-increasing factor.
  4. No telling if/when Miller plays this year. Hopefully Floyd has something left in the tank to cover in the meantime. Ford, Jones, and Oliver? They’re fine. Average.
  5. Cincy debacle was also the D-line. At least the Jets have one line going for them.
  6. I thought this poster was being serious for a second. You got me!
  7. Not sure what qualifies as hype, but the AFCE should absolutely be competitive. Bills, Dolphins, and Jets are good teams on equal footing and all threats for first place. I give the Dolphins a slight edge, but it wouldn’t surprise me if all three finish with 10-11 wins. Patriots will have a capable defense and O’Brien should help Jones. They won’t be an auto win for the other three.
  8. Interested to see what O’Brien can do with Jones. Helps to actually have an OC.
  9. Beane literally signed him off the couch last year. I'm curious if he has anything left assuming he's been training. He's a good dude.
  10. It’s not perfectly fine. The hope was to take pressure off Allen. Still having mediocre-to-sub par RB, WR, and OL rooms does not accomplish that. Nor does a dicey OC. Heavy expectations for two rookies this season.
  11. It’s not a stacked RB room. Cook is unproven obviously. Fingers crossed he can handle a larger percentage of carries. Harris is injury prone. Murray is washed.
  12. Isn’t this obvious? How about a hypothetical play call that includes a contingency when Allen gets bum rushed.
  13. Trade proposal alert: Phillips for Bryant.
  14. This takes a bit of unknown out of the offense. Too bad. He’s done as a Bill so god speed. Pats would’ve won in Buffalo last year without him.
  15. Fair. If there’s more separation between them then more factors in play. The fact Allen is still gaffe prone after five seasons is a limiting factor. You’d think by now his ball security, decision making, accuracy/touch, and footwork (and composure) would be a little more polished. He’s still a rollercoaster. Fun, no doubt. But still goes off the cliff.
  16. Of course it’s time for Mina Kimes to chime in🤣
  17. Reaching a Super Bowl is a distinguishing factor in separating the upper echelon. If Hurts is ranked #9-10, I bet his Super Bowl appearance was the trump card over Allen.
  18. This ranking is of the 50 best players. It's not ranking most valuable players to their team.
  19. Indeed. It makes sense that Allen would be outside the top 10 as the #4 ranked player at his position. The Allen/Hurts/Herbert debate is a good one. Mahomes and Burrow are on another level. Allen needs to cut down on the crushing mistakes...and reach a Super Bowl...to achieve elite QB status (as opposed to his current elite athlete status).
  20. Allen isn't ranked second best.
  21. I'd settle for a 700% ROI. Good for Snyder.
  22. Depends on whether the OC is capable.
  23. It’s business. They simply crunch the numbers as to value vs. distraction. This isn’t “hypocritical”.
