Shaq is likely little more than the vet minimum deal and in no way prohibits them from adding Ngakoue if they choose to go that route I'd guess it will depend on how much Beane/McD believe AJ and Basham can contribute

Cap is jumping up significantly over the next 3 years and his deal could always be redone again may not be offered that much due to his lack of run defense I will say, after researching him and the kind of guy he is, I’d love to have him and I’m sure he’d be a great culture fit here

he may not have a choice. Personally, I’d make him a generous offer in a 3 year deal. Maybe he’s tired of moving from team to team? In his prime and on an elite list of edge players as seen above. He apparently does a ton of work in the community. Him opposite Von on 3rd downs would be scary for QBs I’m not concerned about his poor run defense because Rousseau, Shaq and Von are all good against the run if I recall, he’s been a player we had interest in before. Could this be another case of Beane pursing a player for years and finally landing them?
