https://bleacherreport.com/articles/10113608-stefon-diggs-rumors-belief-bills-will-rework-contract-avoid-trade-in-free-agency "If they were to get rid of Stefon Diggs, if they couldn't rework his contract, it would require a trade. But there's also a belief that they can get to a place with Diggs that they can get a restructured contract to still keep him in Buffalo and still keep him happy. As we know, though, last offseason this got a little bit sticky. We'll see if general manager Brandon Beane, one of the best in the league, can keep this situation peaceful and keep Stefon Diggs on the roster this coming season." Per Spotrac, a pre-June 1 release would result in $49.5 million in dead cap and a pre-June 1 trade would give them a dead cap hit of $31 million. A post-June 1 release would yield a dead cap hit of $27.3 million this year and $22.2 million next year, whereas a post-June 1 trade would result in $8.8 million in dead cap and $19 million in cap savings this year, but also a $22.2 million dead cap hit next year. If the Bills intend to keep their No. 1 wide receiver and pair him with free-agent signing Curtis Samuel, as well as a potential early draft pick, they have a couple options to make his contract more palatable. -

Could we see Beane trade a 5 or a 6 for a decent DT? -
Safety Julian Blackmon visiting Bills

Blackmon 3 for 18 + incentives Simmons 3 for 24 + incentives 😈 -
With the near miss on Arik Armstead and Sebastian Joseph Day visiting, Who else could we look at? Didn't we have Calais Campbell in for a visit or scheduled visit prior to him signing with ATL? Somehow at 37 Calais managed to have 6.5 sacks and played 17 games last year. His leadership and rotational depth could be a valuable piece IMO. I believe Greg Rousseau also trained with him previously A'Shawn Robinson is another name that comes to mind if still available (edit he already signed)

If Marvin Harrison Jr or Malik Nabers is available at 6, you'd think Beane at least makes a call to see what Joe Schoen would do a deal for If it's within reason, do we really consider it? 28, 60, 134, 2025 1st, 3rd ?

Justin Simmons released (now visiting N'awlins)

Poyer and Hyde were a fantastic tandem that worked really well together. Simmons is better than either of them and 3 years younger. Would be a massive acquisition for the secondary -
Bills sign Taron Johnson to 3-year $31 million extension

I'd take that for sure. May take 3 for 24 and up to 30 incentives. Basically what Samuel signed for -

I'm perfectly good with keeping him. IMO he does not want to be here anymore. But, we'll see -
Arik Armstead released, signs with Jax
Warriorspikes51 replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall
worked out better for this place. There would have been food fights if we paid him 17m a year we may not have gotten Samuel if we paid Arik 17M per. Whatever, guy didn't want to be here. Have fun on the Jaguars -

Justin Simmons incoming?! -
Hollins is more than a STer. The guy can actually play WR at a reasonably good level in 2022, 57 for 690 4TD Much better than what Sherfield or Harty have ever produced I figured it would be 3 Million actually

Ideally we manage to pull Thomas Jr / Legette / AD Mitchell in the 1st. Then if we still have pick 60, move up for him -

Sal C claimed if he was moved before June 1, he would be off our books next year. That seems to contradict what others have said -
Justin Simmons released (now visiting N'awlins)
Warriorspikes51 replied to Dablitzkrieg's topic in The Stadium Wall
Why? Simmons is arguably the best safety in the league. He's top 3 no question. He's also a few years younger than Poyer and Hyde.
