Diggs cryptic comments - 2024 edition
Warriorspikes51 replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
I guess we'll know by March 17th. It would be illogical to pay Diggs 18.5 and then trade him post 6/1 -
I can probably be talked into almost any of the WR's in this class. I'd really love a combination of Brian Thomas or AD Mitchell or Xavier Legette + Troy Franklin or Xavier Worthy a physically imposing WR + an elite speed WR

Diggs cryptic comments - 2024 edition

I would do that deal. I expect we'd have to add a conditional pick at least since AJ is only 26. AJ is even more unlikely to be dealt though https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/nfl/article-13120191/aj-brown-radio-eagles-jalen-hurts.html -
That is pretty stunning. Maybe Tez drops to round 3 or 4?

https://www.buffalobills.com/news/buffalo-bills-nfl-mock-draft-watch-2-0-2024 Most notable of these collected mocks: February 22: The Athletic, The Athletic NFL Staff TRADE No. 28, No. 99, No. 192 to MIAMI for No. 21 – WR Brian Thomas Jr., LSU With Gabe Davis set to hit free agency and the Bills already lacking explosiveness, adding a young, home-run threat with tantalizing potential is top of mind this offseason. Thomas possesses everything the Bills would be after: speed, deep threat, size, leaping ability and a high ceiling to become one of the best in his class. He could quickly take over the X-receiver role Davis vacates and would complement Stefon Diggs nicely. For ever-aggressive Bills GM Brandon Beane, giving up a late third-round pick and a sixth-round pick to move up for Thomas is an easy decision. —Joe Buscaglia

What we do in UFA or with the possibility of trading Diggs is likely to impact. Personally, I want Round 1 and Round 2. (Unless DT Sweat is available at 60) In fact, if players like Mitchell, Franklin, Worthy, Legette are all available at 28..... I'd take one and then try to trade back up for another Will be real interesting to see where Legette goes especially Of course, Beane is more likely to only select 1 WR early and another late. Not good enough IMO
-
My goodness....no Legette? IMO any of those top 7 except for Coleman would be a homerun for us in Round 1

Diggs cryptic comments - 2024 edition

Why was there a cap site that had us saving 9.7 million against the cap this year if he's traded now (before his 3/17 18.5 million payout comes due) If it did cost an additional 3.2 million against the cap for a trade - depending on the return....it's still possible the Bills would move him. Especially IF he has indicated to the front office he wants to be. Pegula would be saving 18.5 million in actual cash I believe? -
negative 36.7 must mean a contract or two has been played with already

Tasker & Chris Brown on Bills CB’s for 2024

KC is never called for defensive holding or PI. It's a JOKE -

Am I missing something here? It's not like the Bills take on additional $ -
This is really strange to me. Douglas is an impact player and made a big difference for us. Saying Elam and Benford are more athletic and therefore will start? Odd. Douglas should be viewed as CB1 and let Benford and Elam compete for CB2. I guess they also assumed Tre will no longer be with the team

If Michael Thomas is cut, I wonder what his market value is? Could be an intriguing option

DK Metcalf needs to be in a Bills uniform😎 the thing isnt even built?! How about waiting until it is before passing this kind of judgment -

not even close to Hopkins level of player. I could see Keenan Allen being someone that becomes available. Not a big fan of the guy personally, though he’s a quality WR if we’re going after a veteran not currently a UFA, I’d target Cortland Sutton for a mid round pick. Tyler Lockett is another one who could become available. Rumored to be a cut candidate would save SEA 17 million -
didn’t Baker clock in as one of the fastest WR’s at the senior bowl. At top speed anyway

I think combination of Gabe wasn’t utilized to his strengths + his ankles get dinged up every season. Frustrating player. Hard to believe he’s only 24 -
Cover 1's Top Free Agent Fits for the Bills

I’m good with this. If we do sign him, I’ll pretend he never played for Carolina haha Chinn and Curtis Samuel make a lot of sense for us sigh. When is the phreting over the cap going to end? 30 million in space which is absolutely doable for us is plenty of room to make moves. How much did we have last season? We kept signing veteran players -

I’m really tired of this take. All signings have risks. Miller was making the entire defense better and getting to the QB at a high level until he tore his acl. It’s not like we signed him and he suddenly became Aaron Maybin -

The Bills COULD improve while trading Diggs. KC traded Tyreek and everyone thought they were going to take 2 steps back. Instead they won 2 SB’s -

it’s a real possibility, but I think we’d have to include a mid round pick next year and a late rounder this year. Some combination like that along with Diggs in order to get a 1st Houston and Dallas are both teams that I can see doing this. Jones already said he’s “going all in” and Texans may want a veteran for Stroud (+rumors about this already) 23rd or 24th overall for Diggs + 3rd in 25 + 6th this year seems like a fair trade IMO While not likely, if this were to happen…. we could walk out of Round 1 with 2 of Brian Thomas Jr / Troy Franklin / Legette In addition to that….maybe you get super lucky and the Colts let Pittman hit UFA. In his prime, put up quality production with bottom tier QB play. Already has a friendship with Allen. A 5 year 100 mil deal + void years can make the cap hit for the next few years fairly low. Pittman seems to catch everything. We badly need more of that Pittman Jr. Brian Thomas Jr Troy Franklin Shakir now if Diggs stays, I’d still TRY to acquire a quality WR on the market or via trade & I would still draft WR in Round 1 + another in Round 2-4 -

& that is from below avg QB play! Just hitting his prime no you wouldn’t need to clear 60 million. Give him a 5 year deal for 100 Million. + void years. Can lower the hit to 10 million or so for 2024 if you want it’s possible Josh Allen will at least mention him to Beane as someone he’d like since they are friends I don’t expect it to happen. Would be interesting though! We can at least invest multiple high picks at the position if we don’t land an impactful WR via UFA/Trade -

I don’t expect him to sign here. But, if he did I think it would be very impactful for playoff games
