  1. Holding the same talent level while increasing the cost base is never a good move. The big bet here is on the player improving and taking that next step in his development. Not very likely for a DE entering his 4th of 5th season, especially when you consider that the part of the game where he is lacking is the one real talent is born with.
  2. At the very least, it's time to break McBeane apart. If not both, you have to either fire the coach or the GM, each decision having valid arguments. You need a new voice and a new set of eyes. And if you change the GM, the new one can no longer be McD's puppet.
  3. Well it's not like those with access to OBD are exactly free to speak their minds. The team tolerance and response to criticism is comparable to that of the Chinese Comunist Party. Press conferences at OBD are the most robotic, uninformative, and boring I have heard in decades of following a dozen different professional sports.
  4. I see him as a supercharged Shaq Lawson. Re-signing that kind of player while increasing his cost base ain't the path to a championship.
  5. At this stage, for a team to take Bass you'll probably have to start with Josh and 1st as the negotiation platform.
  6. Way too many and too big question marks (WR, pass rush, safeties being the main ones) to realistically expect them to make that elusive next step. Luckily, the division may still be within reach which makes another trip to the playoffs likely.
  7. They are in no way closer to a championship team than they have been in the past 4-5 years but to each their own, I guess.
  8. With a multi-dimensional threat like Josh at QB, it's hard for offensive teammates to be catastrophically bad. Then again, how far is that top 5 in the conference, paired with a defense that seems to lose its mojo come playoffs time, supposed to take them? Sadly, there is quite a gap between "don't suck" and championship caliber.
  9. Interesting stats, although the Bills do not have a "pure" front 7, which means they put even more emphasis on these positions in Buffalo.
  10. Even billionaires make idiotic decisions. I mean, some may argue that owning multiple entertainment businesses in one of the most economically depressed regions in the country may be one of them. There is a remote possibility that some billionaire may bite for vanity purposes alone. However, it's much more likely that any such deal will have to include the possibility to buy a majority stake some time down the road. Yet another scenario would be buying the rights to build some corollary business around the new stadium, but that would also be an idiotic decision as outlined above.
  11. That's the reality of this roster. It's Josh and the Kalahari desert after him.
  12. It's variable, depending on how many players' wives and girlfriends attend the game in thigh bodysuits
  13. When it comes to soccer, as far as I can remember, not many European countries get soo much snow, and those who do, like the Scandinavian and NE European countries, follow different calendars to the central and southern European ones, having their championships starting around April and finishing before the end of November.
  14. It's quite the opposite, actually. It's people like you who believe that only a 3-time SB winning coach in his late 30s or early 40s would be an upgrade on this HC. No one is saying that our coach is trash, but as long as this team has Josh Allen, it will be relatively easy to improve on McDermott's constant blunders. It's ridiculous how he always seems to find a way to let this team down when it really matters.
  15. The same people that are totally fine with McD's recurring blunders become the most demanding perfectionists when it comes to replacing him.
  16. Is there a chance, however slim it is, that this can lead to the Bills being able to dump him and his contract with no long-term salary cap implications?
  17. Not sure if you are purposely playing dumb or just like to state the obvious. Obviously, no one on here knows McDermott from a personal life perspective. As a public figure, he sounds more and more like the ultimate hypocrite. Preaches accountability but doesn't want any, advocates a somewhat blurry concept he calls "the process", which I guess would imply continuous improvement, yet constantly shows he refuses, can't, or is too stubborn to learn from his own mistakes. I guess that's what people are growing more frustrated with, rather than what he does behind closed doors in his private life.
  18. That's not just a lineman. It's a LT, arguably one of the top 3 most important positions in a football team. The guy in charge of protecting the fella playing the "most difficult and important position in sports".
  19. If 'dogs' are what we are lacking, how about sending McBeane a memo. Less choir boys and more dogs when it comes to the draft and free agency. Or does this dog thing apply to Josh only?
  20. Just to make sure I understand your reasoning. If, in your view, Allen deserves some blame for his real or perceived lack of commitment (in spite of perhaps needing some summer rest after playing somewhat injured most of last season), I guess you would have cut a guy like Dawkins a few years ago then. I mean, as a veteran player at a premium position, he has made a habit of putting in even less off-season work.
  21. Allen, who, by the way, is at an earlier stage of his career, is a better QB than Diggs is a receiver. End of subject.
  22. Someone should remember him that the "process" is about being "humble and hungry".
  23. He is a textbook hypocrite. Preach accountability but it's only for some, and never for himself.
  24. You simply can't get through the entire playoffs and win a Superbowl if you routinely fall short in clutch situations.
