  1. Yep. Money talks so much in Texas that they convinced the NFL to let the Texans off scott free in the Watson case, minus the "salary cap" violation and stripping them of a 5th round pick. Watson's a scumbag. Miller's a scumbag. Let's see what happens.
  2. Wonder if he'll get 11 games like Watson?
  3. That's the thing in the salary cap era. The Bills aren't alone in chasing an aged vet, overpaying because they think they're close to the pinnacle. Where the Bills erred I think, was basically standing pat while Miami & the NYJets snuck up on 'em in the division. Yeah, maybe Rodgers would have gotten killed later in the year by that woeful O-line, but they WENT for it like the Bills did with Von.
  4. Those AFC South games have no feel. Just my opinion, it's the most "blah" division in football. Regarding the original post....never, ever root for losses. The NFL draft is an inexact science where ALL 32 teams pretty much botch most of their picks, and hit on a few.
  5. I think it was Donovan McNabb, after Philly & the BenGals tied. Hating tOSU & scUM. Interesting.
  6. Agree. The greatest record of all time, the 1970 Chargers at 5-6-3 🤣 1970 NFL
  7. While Mahomes is a tad down statistically, in truth the only thing stopping Mahomes is his WR cast. Just like it appears the only thing stopping JA was Dorsey. KC is a tad vulnerable this year.
  8. Bingo. Let's analyze one of the NFL darling teams if we may.... It's weird to me. Back in the 70s when the Steelers had a dynasty' they got many many favorable calls. Their D was tough as nails, promoted as such. They damn near killed Kenny Stabler a few times, but that was deemed "ok." My hunch is the NFL wasn't ok with Miami being the team to beat. Fast forward to the 1990s, Steelers host 5 AFC Title games, only win 1. 2000s, they "win" the SB vs Seattle in the most biased officiated game in SB history. Blatantly obvious that was rigged. Fast forward to today's NFL, TJ Watt does whatever he wants, rarely penalized. Punches QBs, twists linemen's legs....yet his team sucks. I'm not a gambler, but my guess is Draft Kings, etc., has player odds on him weekly. So, same team, different outcomes, different scenarios, different players. Kind of weird, isn't it?
  9. Ratbirds just nailed Herbert out of bounds, no flag....oops yeah its on the Chargers. WTF
  10. ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh
  11. Najee is finding out things aren't so easy in the NFL. Things were pretty easy at Alabama for him, minus 2 or 3 tough games a season. So if he "goes off" the next 7 games, he's right about Matt Canada, we'll give him that. Time will tell.
  12. They truly are a horrible fanbase. They think they're going to be the '99 Rams now that Canada got fired. They also think the NFL began in 1972.
  13. True. The Immaculate Reception (1972) & "Renfro was In" (1979) games involving the Steelers were prime examples of officals making big mistakes. Rob Lytle's fumble ruled a TD & Karlis' missed FG in AFC Championships in the 1980s as well. Fast forward to replay though...is it really any better? They totally robbed Dez Bryant & the Cowboys at Green Bay, Tom Brady's "tuck rule," I just think it's way worse now. But I hear you, they really can't back track now, they're in too deep.
  14. Eliminate replay as an officiating tool and watch the quality go back up. It's pretty simple. Nobody here is going to perform well at their job with somebody shadowing their every move. Replay ruined officiating.
  15. Tailgate Cheesesteak I use this one constantly, whether it's a tailgate or at the campground. Malcom Reed, he's never done us wrong!!!!! I usually use a London broil, put it in the freezer for an hour or 2, then slice it up.
  16. Ok, that makes sense. Wow, a Goodell policy making sense lol.
  17. Really? I thoght the NFL schedule was computer-generated on BYE weeks? It seems that every NFL team's BYE fluctuates on a history. In other words, for "parity sake," it rotates to "early season BYE," then "mid season BYE," then "late season BYE." Never heard of a coach/team influencing a schedule.
  18. Watson was 5-1 as a starter. Granted, one of those games he only played a quarter (vs Colts)
  19. Browns 3rd stringer beats Pittsburgh. Without 2 starting OTs & Chubb. What a season.
  20. Losing does funny things to people's perspective🤣. The Steelers are decent, wouldn't surprise me if they made the playoffs. The Rooney's influence on the NFL isn't as strong as it once was. If you're talking 70s, 80s and early Big Ben years, I'd say you have a point. Tagliabue gave 'em a SB vs Seattle.
  21. We will agree to disagree.
  22. Since the early 1990s there was college football on Thursday & still is.While it usually wasn't a marquee matchup, it's still football, and I watched. The smaller conferences like the MAC even play on Tuesdays & Wednesdays now. Goodell, Jerry Jones, Kraft, Kroenke...these guys pushed for it & got it. If you can't see it's not Sunday quality NFL football then I'm sorry. Yeah, there are lemons on Sunday as well, but I think you know what I mean. Just because every NFL team has to play a Thursday game in the name of "competitive balance" doesn't mean it's a good idea.
  23. Picket Fences reruns or Room 222 reruns lol
