True. The Immaculate Reception (1972) & "Renfro was In" (1979) games involving the Steelers were prime examples of officals making big mistakes. Rob Lytle's fumble ruled a TD & Karlis' missed FG in AFC Championships in the 1980s as well. Fast forward to replay though...is it really any better? They totally robbed Dez Bryant & the Cowboys at Green Bay, Tom Brady's "tuck rule," I just think it's way worse now. But I hear you, they really can't back track now, they're in too deep.

Eliminate replay as an officiating tool and watch the quality go back up. It's pretty simple. Nobody here is going to perform well at their job with somebody shadowing their every move. Replay ruined officiating.

Ok, that makes sense. Wow, a Goodell policy making sense lol.

Really? I thoght the NFL schedule was computer-generated on BYE weeks? It seems that every NFL team's BYE fluctuates on a history. In other words, for "parity sake," it rotates to "early season BYE," then "mid season BYE," then "late season BYE." Never heard of a coach/team influencing a schedule.

Watson was 5-1 as a starter. Granted, one of those games he only played a quarter (vs Colts)

The Steelers are going to be the #1 seed

Browns 3rd stringer beats Pittsburgh. Without 2 starting OTs & Chubb. What a season. -

Losing does funny things to people's perspective🤣. The Steelers are decent, wouldn't surprise me if they made the playoffs. The Rooney's influence on the NFL isn't as strong as it once was. If you're talking 70s, 80s and early Big Ben years, I'd say you have a point. Tagliabue gave 'em a SB vs Seattle. -

Since the early 1990s there was college football on Thursday & still is.While it usually wasn't a marquee matchup, it's still football, and I watched. The smaller conferences like the MAC even play on Tuesdays & Wednesdays now. Goodell, Jerry Jones, Kraft, Kroenke...these guys pushed for it & got it. If you can't see it's not Sunday quality NFL football then I'm sorry. Yeah, there are lemons on Sunday as well, but I think you know what I mean. Just because every NFL team has to play a Thursday game in the name of "competitive balance" doesn't mean it's a good idea. -

100% I'd much rather the NFL did away with it but it's too late now, too much money involved. Crazy thought-I'd rather see more Sunday morning games overseas than Thurs night football. Tailgates are even better when there's a game on. -

You can't root for a team that shouldn't exist. I'm rooting for Cincy. The Ratbirds are a bunch of cheap-shot thugs, always have been. -
I doubt they would have used a TO there, as Denver was in "firedrill mode" to get the kick off. That was squarely on the ST coach & captain. These guys practice this stuff routinely (you would think). Maybe, just maybe somebody got hurt on a prior XP/FG attempt in the game and there was no communication on who was supposed to be out there. Inexcusable, they KNEW Denver was driving for the FG attempt.
-
Yes & no. Many coaches hang onto the last timeout to "ice the kicker." Insane the Bills just can't get out of their own way.
-
Pretty much. My perhaps stupid take is no team is ever able to defend a shovel pass.....that was the play that broke the Bills last night. Wilson made a desperation play & it worked. 12 men on the field, well that's just inexusable. That's on the players, ST captain, & coach. In McD's defense, he can't micro mnage every darn play, he trusts his assistants. This one really stings. I can't imagine the locker room now.

I hate the underthrown ball/PI call. The DBs in the NFL have little to no chance on those.
-
Damn shovel pass works, no matter who or what team uses it, every time.

This is my cardio for today. Missed the gym.

Denver D has somehow turned it around in all fairness. Here comes some Russell Wilson spinning around- running for his life moves again. Weird game

Funny, I never mentioned the word "evidence" in either post. You're throwing out accusations at me, painting me as a conspiracy theorist. I'm just looking at it from afar, & yeah the Browns are one of the teams I like. Look at it this way. Do you think the higher ups in the league office wanted to tarnish two organizations over creepy behavior by a QB? It was a lot easier to target the player & the idiot owner of the Browns. Haslam has majored in stupid moves since he bought the team. Lastly, there's gold diggers out there. Instagram "models" who took a payday after Buzzbee found 'em. They sure were "traumatized" after multiple encounters with Watson. Have a nice night. Go Bills

Watson is no saint, that's a given. Funny how after DW had a hissy fit regarding the Texans new GM, & said he wouldn't play for them, all this came out in the public eye. Where there's smoke, there's fire. You may have missed it (somehow), but it wasn't just a one-time event in a hotel. It was ongoing. Teams go to great lengths to protect their players, until the player/team relationship is ruined. They enabled him, got off due to public perception on DW's creepy habits. Be better.
