Nice job as always.

A BILLION dollar industry can't afford to install buzzers like the NBA does!! C'MON! Next you'll be saying they shouldn't be using chains for measuring critical first downs!!!

49ers @ Eagles, NFC Championship (not a thread for Bills debate, please)
JMM replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall
I know it's Jimmy G. but wonder what this game is like if he plays healthy. -
Fins odds for division just went up. Bills with Frazier retained just went down. There is no sugar coating it. Starting to get a real bad feeling about this team short term. Not long term by means, but short term...

It’s obvious what ails the Bills, they’re softer than custard.
JMM replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall
I tend to agree especially after watching them on Sunday. It's been puzzling, when McDermott came in he preached physicality, discipline and tackling. And that's exactly the team we had the first few years. Tenacious, physical. Good tacklers. I don't know what the heck has happened! I used to think Daboll brought a softness to the O, but look how he had the G men playing this year on both sides of the ball! I certainly believe on the D end, it's partly due to Frazier. His personality and style permeate his D. Again you would think a guy who played on those great Bears D's would preach aggressive physical style. It's been very puzzling and disappointing to watch this the last two years. -
Attitude, motor and bulk mean little when you are a turnstile in PP in the NFL. Period. The Bills cannot ASSUME he will get there, they MUST draft or sign a RT. Healthy or not he has shown he is vulnerable to edge rushers for two years now. Sundays performance was pathetic as was the Fins playoff game. Although quite tall, he may be able to make the transition to a G, otherwise I see him as a backup swing tackle. I hope he proves me wrong.

This.

Waaaay too early to make any judgements oh him. However, there is NO doubt he was drafted too high, and most " experts " said so at the time.
-
Actually now they have 15 UFA next year and many if them are impact players like Kelce. Also very little cap. And a aging roster They better do it this year.
-
Unfortunately he's a tweener. Not big enough for a typical DT, and simply not enough of a fast penetrator to be a difference maker. Would I trade him? For the right deal, in a heartbeat.

Damar Hamlin - Now (1/11/2023) discharged from Buf Gen & “recovering at home”

That is one hell of a body double, the deep state outdid themselves this time...🙄 -
Jim Johnson was McD’s mentor. Where’s his defense?
JMM replied to oldmanfan's topic in The Stadium Wall
This! We run a Tampa 2 for the most part. That requires a impact DT (Sapp), which we don't have. Ed teases. And a great rangy MLB. Again Maine has been a tease. It's a passive D compared with others. I've never liked it. For us older fans it reminds me of the Walt Corey D's back in the glory days. -
Final Pro Football Focus Oline Season Grades
JMM replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall
Unless we sign a top grade OL in FA, two of our first three picks better be OL in the Draft or I'll really start to question this regime, and I never have much before. -
That draft would be awesome, so it will NEVER happen

With Oliver Value Goes Beyond the Stat Line
JMM replied to Rich Stadium Original's topic in The Stadium Wall
The comparison to Donald is not valid and never was. When we drafted him my hope was he would be a poor man's John Randle. That to me was a better comparison. Unfortunately he doesn't appear to have the motor that made Randle A HOF. He disappears for stretches. As a penetrator you can't get swallowed up like he does. -
Correct me if I'm wrong but the issue for moving Brown to guard isn't that he's too tall usually for a guard? All I know is that his PP is absolutely pathetic. And Beane making excuses for him the other day did not give me a lot of confidence. We can't afford another year of that level of incompetence there for Josh.
-
Yes we will win it, but it will be tight. And for God's sake can we stop with the "If Tua was healthy" takes? Worse than fin heaven. When he WAS healthy they lost 4 straight games, including against us late in the year. And he is not going to remain healthy.

Bills D probably has 1 more year of running it back - and be good
JMM replied to appoo's topic in The Stadium Wall
Great, another year of a " top 5" D during the year, and lay a egg in the playoffs. But hey they won't give up bombs over the top....🙄 -
The more I think about this, it very likely means Frazier is back. Typically when a DC is let go, the staff is maintained until the new DC is hired and he chooses who he wants retained. So looking forward to another year of passive D led by Mr. Semi comatose.
-
If this isn't just the beginning then this fella is a pathetic sacrificial lamb. If Frazier is offered another contract then my confidence in this team getting to the promised land goes way way down.

Old Buffalo Bills Message Board
JMM replied to Floridagatorsbuffalobills's topic in The Stadium Wall
I was!! I miss the old board! Not saying anything wrong with this one. -
You're Beane. Give me your offseason moves as best you can at this point.
JMM replied to GreggTX's topic in The Stadium Wall
1. Move on from Frazier 2. Physicality, whatever that means in order to achieve this, but both lines need PHYSICALITY! 3. WR, OL and LB in that order. -
Not to rehash or in any way not understanding that we were dominated on both sides of the ball. But to me it seemed like the Bengals were doing better on the snow covered field. They didn't look tentative at all. Whereas to me it looked like the Bills were absolutely tentative at times, trying not to slip and slide. It felt like the Bengals were playing on a high natural grass surface and the Bills were playing on their old horrible carpet. Is it possible they screwed this up too, not having the proper length cleats?? Did anyone else notice this or was it just we were that slow and flat?

Interesting thought. But if they continue the current D with Frazier(please noooo), then Taron is too valuable as the slot corner. Benford makes more sense at safety as McDermott discussed .
