Maybe present him with the keys to the city? No that's not it. That's it!
-
Even if the Bills wanted him, he's on Waivers so we'll be one of the last teams that can claim him.
-
Unfortunately it's not only Cooper being injured... on the Injury Report there was a DNP and 3 limiteds among just the wide receiver group.
-
I've heard of him!!!
-
Also he's a terrible run defender whereas Benford is an excellent run defender. I'm pro-McDermott but I agree with this. I don't think he's a s creative or as aggressive as he could be. I've seen schemes whereby a press man corner will "travel" with a receiver while the rest of the defense plays in zone. I don't understand why we couldn't do that from time to time with Elam. You can see he improves every time out and I agree with the others who say that they have to find more snaps for him. I thought Elam played well. It looks to me like Elam has bulked up. He looks visibly thicker to me... maybe my imagination. Anyone else?

Anyone know if Jacky has a site to purchase these?
Sierra Foothills replied to Billsfed1's topic in The Stadium Wall
I left a question on her Instagram asking if they're for sale. I'll let you know if she replies. -
Watching the games I think there's more to it than that. As others have pointed out, there seems to be a disconnect between Samuel and the Bills offense that goes beyond injury.

Thank you for posting this. She mentioned that each one takes 4-5 hours of work so I doubt she sells many of them. I poked around and found this: https://www.buffalobills.com/photos/in-the-community-how-the-buffalo-bills-are-celebrating-native-american-heritage-month#ede2e36a-3fdc-48b1-b867-bc79c62a66e8 https://www.instagram.com/explore/search/keyword/?q=%23jackysnyder Another native bead artist has some great Bills baseball caps you can see in the slide show in the first link. It was really nice getting a glimpse of Eli Ankou, Bobby Babich, Ty Johnson, and Alec Anderson. It's uncanny how often I see Bills players on video and am struck by what really good people they seem to be. This team puts a high value on character and I'm not just talking about "football character" which is not quite the same thing. It seems a high percentage of Bills players are really exceptional people. Just my observation. -
And Ty Johnson picked up where he left off last season and continues to make big plays on limited snaps. I'd love for the Bills to have a big thumper but this is still the best running back group we've had in a long time. One thing I love about the group is that all 3 backs have the speed to hit home runs.

I don't have an explanation for Samuel's ineffectiveness but based on the video of his highlights from last year, I highly doubt he's washed. The 2023 video shows an obviously athletic player with explosive burst. This is one of my bookmarks. It comes in handy for fantasy when I'm trying to figure out who's getting playing time: https://www.footballguys.com/stats/snap-counts/teams?team=BUF&year=2024 To the bolded, I hope so too. There are still 8 games left which is 47% of the season. It's not by any means beyond the realm of possibility that Samuel can make a substantial or at least some timely contributions. I don't mind raising the question about his performance but again in this topic are a lot of people wanting to make final judgements when the season is only at the halfway point.

On the other hand the average number of Head Coaching openings every offseason is about 6. If Brady is a Head Coaching candidate the Saints job might not be his only opportunity. I'm glad you posted this. As was mentioned upthread, Eberflus may or may not survive but it's entirely plausible that there'll be 7 openings this coming offseason. To your point, the Saints are probably going to have a high draft pick and will likely take a QB. The other poor teams with a clear need at QB are the Raiders, Browns, Titans, and Giants. The thing prospective Head Coaching candidates have to evaluate is the ownership group. Clearly Ben Johnson didn't think highly of the Washington ownership, likely because it was a brand new owner with no track record. Gayle Benson has owned the Saints since the her husband passed away in 2018. Mickey Loomis has run the football side for 20 years or so and is very well-respected.

ZaDarius Smith Traded to Lions for CHEAP

It's also possible/likely that the Browns were good trading him to the NFC but not the AFC. -
Von Miller proves the doubters wrong
Sierra Foothills replied to transplantbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall
I respect this take but again, why the tone of final judgement? What if Von has 4 sacks in 3 playoff games and the Bills win the Super Bowl? Not directed exclusively at you but is there some crime that I'm not aware of that prohibits waiting to see how the season ends? -
I was not at the game. I guess you're referring to my comment about "before the stadium had even emptied?" I guess I should have said "before the TV had even cooled off." Unfortunately I don't have enough vacation time to go back to WNY as much as I'd like although a fellow Bills fan who lives out here is trying to talk me into going to the Lions game. I haven't ruled it out. 😄

Is this the best team in the Allen era?
Sierra Foothills replied to JerseyBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
It's too early to even guess. The marathon is only half run. On top of that there's been lots of injuries and the team's best players on paper haven't played together even once. There are three reasons for optimism: 1) This is the best O-line of the McBeane/Josh Era. 2) This is the best running back group in the McBeane/Josh Era. 3) Including tight ends, this could become the best receiver group of the McBeane/Josh Era. Ask me again in December. -
Von Miller proves the doubters wrong
Sierra Foothills replied to transplantbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall
On that last play from scrimmage, Rousseau showed what a physical freak he is... closing out Jaylen Waddle. -
Thank you for posting. This is what many of us here were saying before the stadium had even emptied. This is a legitimate criticism of the Bills performance... that they arguably should have been running the ball more and passing less. As I and others posted after the game, this was a game that the Bills would have lost in seasons past. With bad calls going against them and a minus in the turnover ratio... Josh would have started playing hero ball and turning the ball over more. In a great game in which both sides showed patience and discipline, the Bills deserved this win.

Von Miller proves the doubters wrong

I'm glad you acknowledge that some of your frustration comes from the defense as a whole. Again, I view the game as just a superb performance by the Dolphins, their QB, and their Head Coach/playcaller. That group has put up big numbers over the years and the fact that we've generally dominated them doesn't mean it'll happen each time. I give credit to the opponent. Playing like that Miami was gonna rack up yards and points against anyone. Yes. Von played 21 of 60 snaps. It looked to me like most of his snaps came in the 4th quarter. This is what I saw also. In his 21 snaps Von was not doing the Epenesa thing (AJs actually gotten better about this) of immediately losing contain on plays. Von was setting the edge and holding the point for run plays before then focusing on the QB. On the run plays he kept the runner inside. On his pass rushes only once did he lose QB contain and on that play he was hunting Tua from behind but couldn't catch up to him before the throw. This is what I saw. With only a few exceptions, Tua continued his pattern of getting the ball out quickly. I don't understand the rush to judgement from the many Von haters here. He has 3 sacks in 114 snaps. Not all of those 114 snaps were pass plays. His pressure and sack rate are very good for how much he's played. I don't understand why people feel the need to pass final judgement on players halfway through a season where the important work is still in front of us and where his sample size has yielded good results. -
Von Miller proves the doubters wrong
Sierra Foothills replied to transplantbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Like all great pass rushers Von actually has a repertoire of moves. With the great pass rushers they usually start with straight bull rushers to feel their opponent out (and if they can walk the blocker back into the QB then why do anything else?) As it's been explained to me, it's kind of like martial arts. Then on critical downs they'll counter or show something they haven't yet used. That's why they are more effective with more volume. The early rushes setup the later rushes. Von showed conclusively before his suspension that he still has it... regardless of what the bipolar and negative say. Tua gets the ball out in 2.63 seconds... fastest in the NFL. It's very difficult sacking him. As with Coleman, Davis, Bernard, etc. etc. etc. the naysayers will disappear when Von starts piling up sacks again. On the other hand, if you just dislike him for personal reasons then say so... but that's separate from his abilities as a pass rusher. -

👎 Tua was brilliant yesterday... I've never seen him play so well and didn't know he was capable of playing at that level. It was evocative of Dan Marino's performance on MNF against the '85 Bears. It looked like Von played the majority of the 4th quarter and I thought he had several good rushes. -
Every year you see at least one talented young quarterback have his career destroyed by an organization that doesn't have the first clue how to put him in a place to grow and succeed. Kudos to McBeane for creating a great environment for Josh, one he clearly loves and thrives in. They're constantly trying to find that perfect and elusive balance of taking a big swing without mortgaging the future. Now they've given him a strong O-line and running game... I believe the best is yet to come. McCongratulations Coach!!! I applaud you!!!

Lots of great takes here... Yes, sometimes the other team plays well. The Bills D has generally outplayed Miami's O but not today. Tua was superb and McDaniel planned and called a masterpiece. It happens. Yes, the Bills play light boxes and invite you to try to run the ball at them... and dare you to throw deep. The Bills stayed patient in their defensive scheme. We're not gonna dominate the Dolphins every time we play them but we won. Actually a bit, yes. He'd been improving and playing well and showing out on a weekly basis. As pointed out, this team does have a few weaknesses, particularly at interior DL. Also the injuries have hurt. But the goal is always to be playing your best at the end of the season. Miami played an excellent game today. Unfortunately for them it wasn't enough. Agreed. The Miami offense is pretty accomplished. Very few teams have the skill players that they do and their scheme is very challenging. Also they've been running the ball really well. The Bills weren't gonna shut down the running game. But them handing the ball off was preferable to them attacking downfield. As is usually the case, this was our opponent's Super Bowl. And to add even more fuel Miami must be so sick of losing to us. They played a great game. Yes, missing Benford hurt though I was pleased that Elam got more game reps under his belt and I thought he did just fine. It would be great to get Milano back at some point and like many here, I'm still wishing and hoping for one more trade. GREAT post. Yes, I was telling people that this is a game the Bills would have lost before this year. The freak INT, the trio of epically poor calls, Miami's stubbornness... but like you said, the Bills were patient on both sides of the ball and that was the difference. Yes, not only were the Bills patient but McDaniel also remained patient. It was really a great game, made even better by the final outcome. It's funny reading this board, how many glass half empty people there are... as if Miami sucks and the game shouldn't have been close. I really enjoyed this game because it was so competitive and both teams played so well. Of course I'm super happy that we won too.

Keon Coleman 5th In Rookie Receiving Yards
Sierra Foothills replied to iwishitwerecolder's topic in The Stadium Wall
I guess you’re referring to the fact he was selected 52nd overall. Before anyone starts gloating it’s not as if this guarantees that he’s gonna have a bad career. Also he’s had the misfortune of having Richardson as his QB. Let’s see what happens with Flacco dealing.
