Is Boston Media finally starting to sour on Bilicheat?
Sierra Foothills replied to muppy's topic in The Stadium Wall
About Belichick, he has to be evaluated as the Head Coach and evaluated separately as the de facto GM. He's damn good at one but not the other. -
Not surprised about Elam starting nor am I surprised about Shakir or James Cook. There are MANY here who believe that McKenzie is not fit to be the starting kick returner. I feel/felt he should be given another shot because his upside is pretty damn high. I thought Spencer Brown would wait a few weeks behind Quessenberry before being named the starter.

I was just gonna start a new topic, "What will you wear at the Super Bowl Victory Parade?" Too soon maybe? And the Pets are the Werst.

And that's why I said it was on McDermott and to a lesser degree Frazier and Farwell because the Head Coach has to bear ultimate responsibility and oversight as to the important details at crucial times. McDermott either involved himself incorrectly or insufficiently. He should/could have involved himself in a way that at least one of the above mistakes didn't happen. I'm a big McDermott fan but the fact that all of them happened is on him IMO.

Maybe but Florio also makes the point that if you disagree, consider last year's Cincinnati Bengals. The Bengals were 4-11-1 in 2020. They were in the Super Bowl the next year. Rightly or wrongly, 13 seconds will become a part of a narrative... either that it was the continuation of a pattern of deep playoff failure or that it was a turning point, a necessary setback which the team turned into a springboard for Super Bowl appearances. That narrative pivots on this season. I agree with the first sentence but disagree with the second one. The 13 seconds debacle is definitely on the shoulders of McDermott (and to a LESSER degree, Frazier and Farwell). However McDermott is very safe IMO. I don't see the Pegulas ditching a coach who has brought the team so much success. It would take a few more flameouts for him to be on the hot seat IMO.

I'll check with my LE connects and let you know what I find at my end.

Another comparable is Kevin Hogan who had an excellent career at Stanford, and has the brains but not the arm to play the position. He was a 5th rounder for the KC Chiefs. In 7 seasons (he's not currently an active NFL player) he's made $2.6 million. In my eyes he's a better player than Peterman but quite a bit of career longevity is being in the right place at the right time. This means making good career decisions but also, having a little bit of luck too. And that's the same for most of our careers... decision making + luck = quality of career

🤣 For context, AJ McCarron (who's currently not an NFL player) "earned" about $15.6 million over 8 years. That's some serious clipboard holding excellence!!!

Not according to this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baylon_Spector I checked all the links too. No white cat as far as my research goes, though can't swear to it.

Then we could say "Señor Martinez es uno trabajadora en la fábrica de la tristeza." I have mixed feelings about Edmunds resigning. No amount of money is worth the constant criticism from fans who've never even worn a jock strap. On the other hand it kinda sucks that he's thinking of resigning less than a week before the nationally televised opener. If he had any thoughts of walking away from the game he should have notified the team BEFORE the draft. A bit pissed to tell the truth.

My week 1 upset? Badol and Scott say nice, complimentary things after the Bills stomp the Rams. 😊

Well, you might not care but it seems you care if others care... not that I care.

Maybe Scott but I'm willing to wait 2 more years to the expiration of Singletary and Moss' contracts before I make a final judgement. You say Beane is "relatively even on hits/misses in rounds 1-4." Please don't take offense but IMO this sort of analysis is meaningless until compared to all other teams. And to be accurate it should be a data-driven study taking into account many values (i.e.- 74rd overall pick started 40 games in 3 seasons, 5th in rushing yards from 2019-2021, etc). So to fairly rank every teams draft, every player in that draft should be graded and then their totals aggregated and then compared to the other teams drafts that year. I see both sides of it. On one hand if you have an all-purpose back you're not tipping your hand as far as the play call. On the other hand If you can't clone Derrick Henry, it would be really nice having someone like a D'Onta Foreman to use as a sledge hammer.

That would be the New York Football Giants... -
"Nathan Peterman is statistically the worst quarterback to play in the NFL post-merger. That’s all you need to know, but the stats are even funnier. Aaron Rodgers could throw 1,240 consecutive interceptions on 1,240 straight pass attempts and still have a better career TD to INT ratio than Nathan Peterman. Nathan Peterman once threw 3 interceptions and zero touchdowns in a game and his passer rating went up from 20.8 to 30.7. Nathan Peterman finishes his tenure with the Bills with a lower QB rating than if he simply spiked the ball straight into the ground on every play of his career." And this is what I was alluding to when I asked the question, is it worth $5 million to have this sort of egg on your face?
