I'm not sure it is going to make a difference in the rotation having Babich call the defense, but I would prefer to see the best players on defense in the game more often than not. The TJ Watt type players have the numbers they have because they get the snaps - we have yet to see a distinguishable difference by using a heavy rotation vs. other teams, and it certainly has not led to more pressure or productivity due to "fresh legs".

    Go with the hot hand.

I’ve said the same for years. Play your best players. The rotating d line has not worked and is a waste of money. Year after year the d line lets them down in the playoffs. It’s never resulted in “fresh legs” or less injuries. It’s the same with the running backs. Every time a running gets warmed and starts to make plays they get benched. It does attract free agent d lineman though. They get paid millions to play part time.

  2. There is a lot of turnover and new players this year that have to step up and replace the vets we lost.

there might be some growing pains but the Bills needed to get younger and faster and did.

With Josh the Bills can win any game. Just need the defense to stop crumbling in big moments. Stop giving up third and long on a regular basis. The coaching and game management need to improve in big games. We need Rousseau and Von and Oliver to wreak havoc on the d line to help the new safeties and create some turnovers.

  3. The Bills at least need a semi competent qb who can hold the fort down and protect the ball if Josh has to miss a few games. They have been very lucky that Josh is so durable. A Tyrod Taylor type who can go .500 playing a conservative game that lets your defense give you a chance. None of the back up qb’s the Bills have had behind Allen give them any chance to win a game and Trubisky looks awful. There has to be someone available that is better.

  4. Growing up in wny, none of my family were Bills fans. I loved playing sports and the season when OJ broke the rushing record is when I became hooked. I was only about 9 years old but remember every morning walking to school I would run like OJ avoiding cracks in the sidewalk and juking left and right. I do admit I lost interest during the Hank Bullough era. (I think that’s his name). The Bills were horrible.

But as soon as they became competitive again, I was a die hard fan since.

Its a curse I have passed onto my kids and my wife.
I just want them to win one Super Bowl. Unfortunately I think they blew that chance with 13 seconds. They should have beaten the Giants in their first Super Bowl appearance. They were clearly the better team and got completely out coached. They partied too hard and were unprepared.

McDermott is a good coach but he will never win it all. For some reason he completely falls apart in the playoffs and goes into panic mode. Nothing good ever happens when he calls a time out. But I still love the Bills and Josh Allen and watch every game. I just have to temper my expectations because they find the most Billsy ways possible to lose the big games in the most heartbreaking fashion.

    Going off memory here:

    taron Johnson - 4th rounder

    Benford - 6th rounder

    Dane jackson 7th rounder

    Radial Douglas 3rd round trade

    Bernard - 3rd rounder

    Dodson - I don’t even know

    Milano - 5th rounder

Hyde and Poyer - budget FA signings.

    ———————————-

    Rouso - 1st Round

    Epenesa - 2nd round

    Boogie Basham - 2nd round

    Shaq Lawson - 1st round

Von Miller - MASSIVE free agent signing.

I THINK WE SHOULD STICK TO BUILDING THE D WITH LATE ROUND PICKS.

First two picks should be spent on WR.  Diggs and Shakir are the only guys who will be back and Diggs is a big ???

EDIT: As fans we focus mostly on the first round pick and the second some.  Beane and co im sure focus as much on the late rounders and UDFAs.  Im sure they’ll add some DBs but that doesn’t mean they need to get someone in round 1 or 2

I agree. They need big fast receivers. The top pick should be the best receiver available period. They are stuck with Diggs for 2 more years and his production really fell off at the end of the year. He was a no show against KC. He is still good but I’m not a fan of his head games, yelling at Josh last year, silent all offseason, not talking to the press after bad games, cryptic tweets. At the beginning of the year he was yelling and carrying on after every catch and getting in defenders faces. He easily could have been called for taunting. Emotionally, he seems a child and his ridiculous fashion clothes are annoying. Second half of the season he didn’t seem all in. He repeatedly takes himself out of games even on third downs and was not as emotionally charged up. Maybe he had an injury we don’t know about but he wasn’t getting separation like he usually does.

Dumb. A top safety or even CB or DT or DE will NOT impact the Bills chance of winning as much as a stud WR on a 5-year rookie contract. Josh throwing to a big, fast young WR is the single biggest difference this team can make going forward.

We lack a "dangerous" player on this team and this is the draft to get a dangerous WR in the first round. Draft a CB or safety in the second but not the first.

Maybe 2 big fast wide receivers on rookie contracts. No matter who McD gets on defense they fold in the big games. Get Josh all the weapons they can and let him go nuts.

  7. Admit it. You knew McD’s defense would give up an easy score to send it to overtime right? When the Bills didn’t score a td in OT, how many people actually thought McD’s defense wouldn’t fold like a cheap tent? It’s what he’s known for. His brain turns to mush with the game on the line. He burned 2 timeouts at the end of regulation and then downs the ball with 20 seconds left because he is scared. The Bills defense would’ve folded with 20seconds left like they did against KC but McD won’t even try to score in that situation. Nope, let’s just get to overtime and continue to play soft defense, sitting back on our heels, while the other team easily marches down the field again. When the going gets tough and the game is on the line, McD stops attacking and goes into a shell. Pitiful waste of Josh Allan.

  8. It’s finally game day and this is the Bills biggest game of the year. It feels like they are all must win games now. The Bills have squandered away much of the season but still have a chance to redeem themselves. As bad as the Bills have played at times, and as angry as they have made me, I still feel that if they play up to their potential they can beat the Eagles. This is a true test to see what they are made of. I picked the Bills to win.
