I blame McD. He wants a low risk safe run first offense to protect his crappy defense. He hired Brady and Brady developed this crap offense to appease his boss. But I’m beginning to think Brady is unqualified and unable to run an NFL offense period, which is also McD’s fault for hiring him. I’m on the fire McDermott bandwagon. He’s had his chance and failed. He drafts players and hires coaches he is comfortable with and values “high character” players over higher talent players. He's all about his “culture” at the expense of fielding a more talented team. He has promoted his coordinators from within because they are easier to manage and he can dictate what he wants to them. He’s surrounded himself with yes men and a Boy Scout culture but now his team is devoid of top shelf talent. Besides Josh and Cook, who else is do they have? His coach speak and tired cliche’s have grown old and monotonous. How many times are you going to watch the tape and learn from this? His team can’t tackle!!!!!!!! Never could and never will. He keeps bringing back old washed up former players because he is comfortable with them and knows they will accept his flaws. Everyone at One Bills Drive is way too “comfortable”. It’s a feel good happy place where you can take weeks off making millions until you feel 100%. His free agent signings hardly play and never help the team. He can’t develop rookies and draft choices. Bottom line is he sucks!!!!

I’ve learned to lower expectations and be prepared for the worst. You never know when the Bills will inexplicably come out with low effort, low energy, unprepared, commit countless stupid penalties, uninspired, and look like complete dogcrap. Just when you about give up on them they play like Super Bowl champs. When they are off it’s torture to watch as you just can’t believe they could possibly be that bad. Division is out at this point…have to do it as a wildcard

It’s not happening. The team will only go as far as the offense can take them and they could do nothing and had no answers against Atlanta, Miami and Houston. The defense is flawed. To think the Bills can go a playoff run against the best teams is delusional. The Bills were pitching a shutout against the lowly Dolphins until the 4th quarter. This team has no heart, energy, passion or sense of urgency. It lacks talent and is also at a coaching disadvantage. There is no way to turn it around. -
Good rant. I feel your pain and feel the same as a 63 year old that gets his hopes up every year only to see half effort bumbling and stumbling across the board. There is no hope. Beane and McDingleberry will never be fired. The Bills are making money and Josh is cash cow. The only way it changes is if Josh has had enough and demands it and he never will. We will just have to watch his career slowly go downhill as he gets beat up. Window is closed.

The Bills may as well miss the playoffs. They are one and done if they do sneak in. The offense is wildly inconsistent and just doesn’t have a go to receiver. The o line was completely physically manhandled today and had no answers. The defense is in cap hell by resigning and over paying players in decline. Over paying free agents that never make any difference. Poyer and Tre were great for the Bills but they are done. Bernard has been awful, Milano is done, Taron Johnson has seemed to tank, Benford has sucked this year, Rousseau is invisible after the big extension, Epenesa has always been just a guy, Rapp has been garbage and now out, Kincaid is injury prone and can’t stay on the field, Knox is over paid, Coleman is a bust, Samuels is a waste of money. Just go through the roster. Add in the fact that the Bills coaching staff cannot out scheme or be of any help in preparing or inspiring this team to play with any energy or come up with any plays when it matters and you have current state of the Bills. How many years do we continuously invest in the defensive line with absolutely no return? Where the hell is the pass rush every single year? Miss the playoffs and blow the damn thing up. Get some younger players to replace these low energy limited aging players.

The Bills have a good running game no doubt. Their offensive line is good, not great. Their running back is very good. Good things happen when you can run the ball and you usually win. So why not run? Teams study game film and see tendencies and figure out how to stop you. All NFL teams have figured out if you stack the box you can stop the Bills run game. That’s when you take advantage of defenses cheating up to stop the run. The problem is the Bills pass game has turned to crap and is unrecognizable. To stubbornly run into an eight man box with the safety cheating up is not going to work. The Bills offensive line cannot just impose their will against teams prepared for them. We saw that last week and against good defenses it’s not going to work. Miami doesn’t even have a good defense and all the running into a brick wall did was set up difficult 3rd downs. Until the Bills get their pass game in order they are going nowhere. They refuse to throw to the outside or deep. Sideline screens/laterals are no longer working as teams recognize that play. 8 man boxes and the safeties moving up have congested the middle of the field in the short to intermediate range and no one is open. That’s the only place the Bills throw to. Miami played a lot of zone and just waited for the receivers to go where they always do and were easily stopped until garbage time when they loosened up. Miami has one of the worst secondary’s in the league fielding no name 3rd stringers who shut down Josh Allen and the Bills. The Bills were scoreless into the 4th quarter. The Bills have serious problems and if exposed again against Tampa their season is finished.

Let me get this straight. You’re saying McD is a milk toasty middle age softie and his shtick is bland and uninspiring? That is the most comprehensive and accurate description of the Bills coach I have ever seen. Add in poor game plans and preparation and horrible in game decisions a failure to adapt and change play calling when teams are beating you and you have the current state of the Bills. They will never win a Super Bowl. I think it had more to do with Miami's big d line and lb’s were dominating the Bills o line and rb’s and it wasn’t working. The Bills had no answer.

Well said. This group does not seem to care and just doesn’t show up to play some weeks. I blame McD for putting up with this crap and no vocal leadership on the team. Josh needs to quit being a yes man and sulking in isolation on the sidelines. Somebody has to rally the troops. The effort is clearly not there on game day and it’s unacceptable.

He won’t be used. -
Coaches are heavily implying that Coleman isn’t trying on the field

I agree 100 percent. Josh needs to grow a pair and hold his teammates accountable when they are screwing up. Brady, Rodger’s, Peyton Manning, Drew Breeze, Marino,Kelly, all of them played with fire and got on their guys when the effort wasn’t there. I’m tired of Josh being Mr. nice guy and just sitting in isolation on the sideline sulking. I don’t even see any coaches or players talking to him. I never see him go up and down the bench rallying the troops. I get they are professional and shouldn’t need a pep talk but they are human and complacency sets in when nobody seems to care. It’s human nature. Sometimes they need a kick in the ass and McD isn’t going to do it. All he can do is clap maniacally after every bad play and call ill timed timeouts that result in bad plays. -
What are you talking about? The guy is a genius. He’s moved on from his complementary football quote to “2 dimensional offense”. It’s a very complicated and difficult offense where you run the ball and also pass the ball. McD is on it! Don’t worry.

McDermott is a defensive coach. In his mind it makes sense to run a ball control run first offense. If it works your win percentage goes way up. You control the times of possession and limit the possessions for your opposition. It worked last year and in the pass happy modern nfl it actually looked like the Bills were ahead of the curve in running heavy personal against faster smaller defensive players. The problem is the Bills defense has smaller lighter lb’s and lineman so it works against us also. Only problem is our smaller lb’s and db’s are also slow. Now we can’t stop the good passing teams and we could never stop the good running teams. McD doubled down on the run first, time consuming offense to protect his weak defense to try to keep his injury riddled small slow defense off the field. It didn’t look good but it was working against crappy teams and the Bills had an easy schedule against weak teams. Now they can’t switch gears and turn on the up tempo pass game when they fall behind and teams have figured out their weak offense. McD will always have a defensive philosophy and won’t hire or let an OC run a high powered pass offense even though they have MVP Josh Allen now only handing the ball over and throwing lateral screens. It’s sickening. Teams have figured the Bills out. They aren’t good enough to just impose their will and run into 8 man fronts and they have no one to stretch the field and all the throwing lanes are cluttered up with defenses cheating up. They can’t beat the blitz and there isn’t even room for Josh to run anymore. He is neutered.

It was quite obvious after the first 2 drives that the Bills were totally unprepared to play. Looked like they did no prep and had very low energy across the board. Everyone was kind of jogging around going through the motions. Defense was on their heels watching teammates try to tackle instead of hustling to the play and helping. What’s discouraging is they never could snap out of it. Never showed any fire or emotion. Almost like they didn’t want to be there. Does anyone that studies film know what plays the Bills go to when they are blitzed? The only play I ever see is the quick sideline screen to Shakir and teams know that’s coming now. Why is it so hard for this team to run screens to rb’s? The Bucs are going to stack the box to stop the run and blitz. What are the Bills answers? They have had none thus far.
