Most High School Coaches could've navigated :13 seconds better than our "professionals". Squib kick burns off a few...then I don't care if you just run up to the line and bear hug all their receivers on the first snap. You take the 5-yard defensive holding call and leave them basically 1 play to try and score. I've ran the scenario so many times through my head and I still can't believe they found a way to screw that up.

The penalty allowed the Chiefs to run out the clock, therefore it ended the game. It's as simple as that. I had no idea this anti-QB sneak push campaign was even a thing. Are there really a large number of people that think this is a problem? Sheesh.

It was the same thing on the OL/DL battles. I remember several plays on both sides where it looked to be a clear case of offensive holding and the flag never came. The only thing I remember even remotely close to that was the illegal hands call against Suh. There were some obvious false starts and Offside, but no holding. None. How many games have you watched this year where you could say that? -
I didn't see it that way. I didn't see anything Bradberry did as impeding JSS. Even if he doesn't grab him, I don't think JSS gets separation because he's a slow WR. I don't even think Bradberry needed to do that and he could've recovered.

Even the dude who made the tweet acknowledges in wasn't egregious and for the call to come there I think it has to be. It's literally game deciding. This is my take on it and this is the last time I'm talking about it because at this point, everyone is just repeating themselves. If the refs called every tug, pull, hook, and grab that happens over the course of the game on both the OL/DL battles and in the secondary between receivers and DBs, we'd be there all night watching them make holding calls, that according to the rulebook, are legit holding calls by definition. But we don't see that. We see it to different extents every game. Why is that? Because the refs are using their discretion. On this play in particular, I didn't see it as impacting the outcome of the play and based on how they called the rest of the game, I was of the opinion, this play fell in-line with that and there should've been no flag. Obviously, people have different opinions. That's mine and I would've preferred a no-call there and we see if the Chiefs D can stop Philly from scoring after their FG on 4th and 8. I didn't care about who won, I simply don't like seeing games decided that way, especially a Super Bowl. Whenever possible, let them play. What I'm saying is basically the same thing as this article. https://www.theringer.com/nfl/2023/2/13/23597435/holding-call-super-bowl-eagles-chiefs-james-bradberry -

OK is there a point? Do you not pay attention to how many jersey grabs happen over the course of a game against both offenses and defenses? Like I said, I'm not even debating if it was a hold by definition, but yet you keep trying to convince me of something I've never disputed. I simply didn't see the impact of the jersey grab as being significant enough to alter the outcome of the play. Had he kept holding the jersey, sure, but it was over in a blink. That, based on how they called the rest of the game, it was like they changed up their "discretion" starting with that play. -

I'm not arguing it wasn't a hold by definition. Never tried to make that argument because yes, technically it is a hold, but so are a heck of a lot of other plays. I just don't agree they should've called it based on the severity of it, how they called the entire rest of the game, and the impact such a call would have on the game. https://www.theringer.com/nfl/2023/2/13/23597435/holding-call-super-bowl-eagles-chiefs-james-bradberry -
I always had my eye on Rice and I think we could get him in the early second if we trade out. It's all a gamble and there's so many different scenarios. My main thing is I don't want to see them reach on a player we might have had later anyway.

I didn't see where it affected JSS at all. The only slowdown I saw was when he was turning from running parallel to the sideline to turning it up field and that's when the pull you posted happened. The pull is in the direction JSS is trying to go so I don't see how that brief second of a pull changed anything. -

And plays like that happen literally all the time and are not called. I'm not going over this again with you. You have your thoughts; I have mine and you aren't going to be changing mine so you might as well stop trying. You're acting like I'm the only one that sees them. -
It's pretty slim pickings when you look at it. There's some good talent and it's plentiful, but would rise to what we've seen in past draft WR grades. That's why IMO, we either take one of the top OL first round projections if they're still on the board, we take Robinson if he's still there, or else we trade out of the first round to an early second round pick and pick up an additional pick in the process. We can then grab our WR there or at our normal spot at the end of the 2nd if we can swing that trade out of the first round.

From a single snapshot in time it might look that way, but when you watch the video of it, the tug was insignificant. He didn't continue pulling him. It was a quick boom and done. Had he kept riding him and had a handful of jersey, sure, that's egregious and I don't even think Philly fans could argue it then, but watch the actual play in full speed and tell me if you think what he did actually impeded the receiver from getting to where the ball was going. I just don't see it and I've watched it at least 10 times. -
Where did I attack you? You're reading things that aren't there in order to try and justify your calling people bitter without knowing anything about them or which team they supported, which in this case, it was neither. That call most certainly did decide the Super Bowl. Rather than it being 4th down and the Chiefs kick a FG, then kicking off to Philly with time left and a timeout to either tie or possibly even take the lead, it gave KC a first down on a 3rd and 8 and allowed KC to run out the clock and kick the ball with basically no time left. This is a fact and it is indisputable.

Great post. Great article here too. https://www.theringer.com/nfl/2023/2/13/23597435/holding-call-super-bowl-eagles-chiefs-james-bradberry I didn't even care who won let's stop pretending to read minds here. A weak holding call decided the Super Bowl. I'm sorry you feel obliged to attack people and call them bitter because they're frustrated seeing referees inject themselves in the outcome of games.

Stefon Diggs - “I watched the game five times”
Billz4ever replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
He's only played 8 seasons, so that's not a fair comparison or a plausible expectation of Diggs. Diggs has already exceeded the single season marks Reed achieved in catches, yards and touchdowns. And as far as Moulds goes...764 catches in 12 seasons. Diggs 703 catches in 8 seasons. That happens next season. -
9 tackles (8 solo) and the TD on the Hurts' unforced error. Had he had an INT in there or another fumble recovery, maybe. But you know the thought of it going to anyone but Mahomes never once crossed their minds.

Calling a consistent game is what's important. There's a country mile between missing calls and simply not flagging every little ticky tack foul and letting them play, especially when it's so inconsistent. How the refs are going to call the game is set very early on. If there are very few flags, even if you see clear instances where there could be one, then the refs are letting them play and it should remain that way unless there's an egregious call that really a no-brainer. https://www.theringer.com/nfl/2023/2/13/23597435/holding-call-super-bowl-eagles-chiefs-james-bradberry

So, you're perfectly fine with the inconstancy in officiating is what you're saying here.

Stefon Diggs - “I watched the game five times”
Billz4ever replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
Reed has more career numbers, but I don't think it's really in question that Diggs is the better receiver in a head-to-head matchup. Reed never had a 100-ball season. Diggs has had 3 straight and 4 of the last 5. Reed had one 10 TD season. Diggs has had 2 straight. Diggs has had 2 seasons where he's passed Reed's high yardage mark for a single season. And done it all in a very short amount of time considering. -

Like I said, I don't bark at your command and I'm not scouring though game footage to satisfy your demands. So enjoy your "win" here since it's clear winning the argument is your only goal. -

Oh, this is going be one of those conversations where you ask questions that nobody is disputing. Question...if they haven't called it all night and are letting them play, should they then throw a flag on a weak holding call that would decide the game?
-
"Blatant hold"? LMAO, stop kidding yourself. You've seen much worse not called. And they weren't calling it all night. If they can overlook those, they should reamain consistent with how they're calling the game. DBs had their hands all over receivers all night downfield on both sides and how many calls did you see?

When you're talking about a guy that has had over 100 catches in each of the last 3 seasons and four of the last 5, 250 more isn't far off at all, especially when one guy played 16 years and the other has played 8. Diggs only needs to average 83 catches over the next 3 years to pass Reed in 11 seasons.
